Excellent filets and great food always. One of our favorite restaurants in Austin for a special occasion.
At first it was disappointing. I waited quite a while to be attended and/or water. The waiter assigned to us made up for the service
Fleming's is a well placed downtown steakhouse. WE can walk there from our condo. We shared crab cakes appetizer and a prime 16 oz Rib eye. ( medium rare) We had a bottle of St Emilion red.
The service was excellent. George was a super waiter; kind, unassuming, polite, never ostrusive, and familiar with the menus.
We celebrated a wedding anniversary and it was a memorable evening, Thank you Fleming's!
As always Flemings is a family favourite. We loved the servers the team between the expo and head waiter Thomas. Food always delicious. The only thing is the seating was a bit darker than normal but I understand we were one of the larger seatings that evening and social distancing was recognized. I feel maybe adding candles would've helped with the poor lighting of our 5 top right in front of the wine case. Again Thomas and Mason were a great team.
Our server was fantastic and helpful. We dined outdoors and it was really comfortable with the heaters. Perfect for the start to our weekend!
Food was good. Service was bad for the price.
Made a reservation and took a long time to be seated ( it was not busy ), manager seem more interested in going home.
Server:, drinks were made wrong, food didn’t all come together at the same time.
Good food, bad service.
Service was great...steak was excellent..just the way I ordered it. Seafood tower was awesome!!!
Nice atmosphere and service was fantastic. Overall great experience and nice to be out and about at a restaurant. They do a wonderful job with everything.
split a steak (boneless ribeye) and a side order of spinach with cheese. Good choice as it was enough ( 8 oz each). Very nice waiter; helpful but unobstrusive. The food was very well done and we shall do it again. Highly recommend as a good, convenient downtown steakhouse. We had a bottle of Australian Shiraz which was well priced and very nice with the steak. The espresso after dinner was excellent! Do it!
Main Filet had great flavor, was very nice, juicy, and warm. Harvest salad was incredible, and service was friendly
Our first restaurant visit since the pandemic started. Austin's Flemings provided a memorable experience. Excelent service by Curtis and the food was amazing
Best Birthday Dinner
The food was ok but there are too many extraordinary places here in austin to pay that much for mediocre. It will be my last time there....at least for a while!
Disappointing experience for my sister’s 40th birthday dinner. The four of us have all dined at Flemings multiple times and we all agreed this was the worst experience we’ve had. It started with crummy service. We are a pretty easy group to serve to since we’ve all waitressed tables before. For some reason our server was surly from the get-go. I think the operating manager could pick up on it so she came over right away and made us feel more welcome. She got our drinks refreshed. When our server took her order he was very dismissful regarding temperature of the steak and he didn’t even go through the menu to highlight the best stuff. When we did get our food the steak was chewy and my crabcakes were less than warm. The best part of the meal was the free bread and flavored butter. Anyhow, the price is exorbitant! Over $40 for a 6 ounce filet is ridiculous when it’s not cooked Correctly and chewy. No plans to return to this once excellent high end chain. Last but not least, the decor inside is dated. Looks like something from the early 2000’s. I’m wondering if Flemings time has come and gone?
I have been to Fleming many many times but this time was below standards. The beverages from the bar didn't taste right to start. I was given a filet instead of the ribeye I ordered and by the time I received the correct steak the other guests in my party were almost done with there meal. I was given a free beverage while waiting and then charged for it in the bill. I will most likely go again because I feel that this was just a bad night and not reflective of Fleming’s as a whole.
Starter was soggy. Soup was good. Tomahawk steak was chewy. Drinks were watered down and weak. For $200+ was very disappointed. Lesson learned.
It overall was just an okay experience. I prefer other steakhouse restaurants in Austin.
My fiancee and I dined at Fleming's downtown for Valentine's. I had the filet oscar style and she had the filet topped with lobster tail. Mine was great, both the steak and crab cooked to perfection, and the crab wasn't fishy at all. Her steak was cooked perfectly, but the lobster tail tasted very fishy and was slightly undercooked. We had the mac and cheese (which was bland), the brussel sprouts (which were mushier than expected), and the Fleming's Potatoes which were delicious. Also, the burrata appetizer hit the spot. We had difficulty making eye contact with the server for our check even though she passed by our table multiple times checking on the tables around us. Overall good experience, but will try someplace new next time.
The service was poor. I had to get up twice to ask for drinks. I had to ask 3 times for water before we got our first glass and when the bill came, they were double charging me for desert and salads. First time there in a long time and I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. The food was good, but not worth it.
Started great but went downhill as the meal progressed. Appetizers and cocktails were good and arrived quickly. It was nice to see carpaccio on the menu. Same with the French onion soup that followed. My steak, a ribeye, was overcooked. That’s the one thing I look forward to at a steakhouse...and they messed it up. Management was good about quickly replacing it and the petite filet I chose was much better. The sides were disappointing. Everything needed salt. Additionally the Chipotle Mac and cheese was bland. It had no flavor. The cheese sauce was very watered down. Desert was definitely on the small size. I’ve been here twice and been underwhelmed both times. Given the prices there are definitely better big-box steak options in town.
Excellent dining experience.
Martin our server was great and his support staff as well!
Daniel was not very good. Had a bad attitude and even though at one point he apologized for being “off his game,” he never recovered.
Service of entrees was exceptionally slow. Busy night but our group was way behind others. Not what I expect from Fleming’s!!!
We got seated right away. Service was great and food was delicious. It also didn’t take a long time to bring the food.
Always a good meal out. Quiet due to the threat of tornado and heavy rains kept diners away that otherwise would be busy.
we went NYE. great food and service. Brandon took care of our crew.
8 people for supper shared appetizer and a seafood tower. The latter was pricey but very good quality and we all had a bit of everything so it was worth it.
We all had steaks which were excellent and all cooked as we asked mostly medium - rare. The sides were generous and 2 could share one side . The sautéed mushrooms and the spinach/ cheese were especially popular . Thank
The desserts were shared, all were good .
Good wine selection and we had Willamette Valley Pinot; very nice.
Service was excellent: pleasant and attentive.
Recommend for good steak dinner or special occasion.
Were visiting Austin this weekend and decided to dine at Fleming’s. Had to wait for the food for too long. Server was not checking on us often enough. Not satisfied with our experience.
Went there for a date night and to enjoy their Tomahawk Tuesday special. The service was perfect and we left absolutely stuffed. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was to die for. And the steak was perfect!
George was a fantastic server. My husband & I had a great time.
The service was prompt and courteous. Oscar did a great job. The coffee rub rib-eye was superb. Highly recommend it!
Birthday. They even gifted us with a box of chocolate to commemorate my friend’s birthday- nice touch!
I love this restaurant and go many times a year. This was not their best effort. Sorry, just my two cents.
Our waiter, Daniel, made the dinner at Flemings even better than expected. The food was great. I haven't had a steak done that perfectly in a while. The staff was very attentive and we felt very welcome. We will be back the next time we're in Austin.
Service was outstanding but the food was mediocre.
business dinner had a local selection of menu items for available. server shared they ran out of 1 of the 3 items for a special and offered to replace with something else. that was great service. 15 minutes later a manager shared that they were actually completely out of special items and asked that i select new meal.
again, very polite. i selected another item.
when final bill came no adjustment to bill for delays or changes to order. that would have moved experience from fair to excellent.
Nothing on this menu disappoints. We started with the shrimp cocktail. Outstanding. I had the divine lobster bisque while my friend enjoyed the house salad. For our main dishes we had the petite filet cooked to perfection. The brussel sprouts were terribly tasty along with the fire roasted potatoes. Curtis was our server and we now call him "Courteous Curtis" because he took such good care of us. We didnt order desert but received a special chocolate treat anyway. How sweet. When we want to splurge on an indulgence, Flemmings is always a favorite.
