Fleetwood's On Front St. Ratings and Reviews
We spent our first evening in Maui at Fleetwoods. We got a night rooftop table. A piper was performing, too loudly for us, and too much talk and not enough music. They finally started playing oldies. They have a nice wine list. We both had fish dishes. They would ok but not anything special. Servers pushed the steak options to other tables. Only real issue was our server who was nice but not at all attentive.
A wonderful dining experience. Excellent service charming ambience and a Scottish piper! The food was presented beautifully and seasoned perfectly. Clean bright flavors of fresh fish and shellfish accompanied by seasonal veggies perfectly cooked. Excellent cocktail wine and spirit list. We will visit again with pleasure.
When we checked in at the entrance the staff was not very friendly. They took my cell number and said we could wait in the bar. When I received text telling us it was ready he pointed to some stairs leading up and said wait over there and somebody would seat us. Our party of five stood there for about five minutes just 7 feet away from the man. Finally we asked him when someone would seat us and he said we were supposed to go upstairs. He didn’t apologize for anything. Otherwise the food was great.
As always, the ambiance, the cocktails, and the food were very good. I started with a "Mai Tyler" (their take on a Mai Tai) which was topped with Passion Fruit foam and then I had the seafood linguine with scallops and shrimp . . . both were most excellent! Thanks Mick.
After a previous reservation misunderstanding, we decided to give this restaurant another opportunity. The manager, Tina, was very gracious and understanding and was very attentive to our concerns. Our server, Hannah, was simply amazing as well and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and appreciated.
We give complete credit to the management and staff of Fleetwood’s for stepping up and taking care of an unfortunate situation and making it right by providing a thoroughly enjoyable and enchanted evening.
We highly recommend this restaurant and thank them for their strong commitment to first class service!
If I could rate Fleetwoods as a "10" I would. We were seated on the roof, so it was comfortable and quiet, even though Mic Fleetwood was actually giving a concert on the first floor (Jan 17, 2018).
Service was amazingly good, and the food was excellent. This will be our new "go-to" restaurant whenever we are close to Lahaina.
The food was very good and presented nicely. The fish was excellent and the salad with the three course meal was very good. The waiter didn't pay close attention to us as we were not ordering a lot of drinks and extra items. He never checked in on us after our food arrived and only checked on our drinks. So the service could have been a bit better. The outdoor seating was pretty on the deck area and the rustic feel of this inside eating area was nice and historic looking. We would go back but most likely for an appetizer and drinks and possibly for dinner. The margarita (I asked for not too sweet) was very good as well.
Simply wonderful evening! We were able to secure a table on the rooftop for the sunset ceremony ... outstanding!!! The views are beautiful as well as the ambiance! We had excellent server, very knowledgeable with the menu and wine pairings. Absolutely would recommend Fleetwood's! Stop in the gallery first if you dare... we ended up buying a piece! Only disappointment not seeing Mic there.
This restaurant has an incredible vibe and the ambiance is amazing. Moreover, the craft cocktails are the best I've had. Unfortunately, the entrees were not near as good as the ambiance or the drinks.
We started with cocktails at the rooftop bar. We tried 3 different cocktails, and each one was fantastic. Moving to dinner, we sat outside on the rooftop. There were great views of the ocean and mountain from our table.
My wife and I split the cobb salad as a appetizer. It was very good and large enough to share.
For entrees, I ordered the parmesan crusted snapper (which comes with lobster risotto) and my wife ordered the filet. This is where things went south.
On the first bite of the lobster risotto, all I could taste was goat cheese. I took a bite elsewhere...goat cheese. I picked out a large piece of lobster, and again, all I could taste was goat cheese. To be clear: I actually like goat cheese, but I swear to god, goat cheese overwhelmed the taste of everything on the plate. I ate most of the snapper by scrapping off the parts with sauce, but I could not finish more than a few bites of everything else.
As to my wife's filet, it was...ok. It was very large piece of meat and very thick. It was prepared a bit on the rarer side and somewhat underseasoned. Otherwise, it was a good dish. As a sidenote, my wife ordered a glass of wine with her steak (she asked the waitor to pick a decent pino noir). The wine was amazing, and I am disappointed I did not write down the brand.
After the goat cheese incident, we decided to skip desert.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. If nothing else, we will return for cocktails. My one recommendation: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING HERE WITH GOAT CHEESE. In all seriousness, I'm hoping the kitchen just messed up my dish; I can't imagine someone intentionally ruining $48 of snapper and lobster risotto by adding that much goat cheese.
