Fleetwood's On Front St. Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant has an incredible vibe and the ambiance is amazing. Moreover, the craft cocktails are the best I've had. Unfortunately, the entrees were not near as good as the ambiance or the drinks.
We started with cocktails at the rooftop bar. We tried 3 different cocktails, and each one was fantastic. Moving to dinner, we sat outside on the rooftop. There were great views of the ocean and mountain from our table.
My wife and I split the cobb salad as a appetizer. It was very good and large enough to share.
For entrees, I ordered the parmesan crusted snapper (which comes with lobster risotto) and my wife ordered the filet. This is where things went south.
On the first bite of the lobster risotto, all I could taste was goat cheese. I took a bite elsewhere...goat cheese. I picked out a large piece of lobster, and again, all I could taste was goat cheese. To be clear: I actually like goat cheese, but I swear to god, goat cheese overwhelmed the taste of everything on the plate. I ate most of the snapper by scrapping off the parts with sauce, but I could not finish more than a few bites of everything else.
As to my wife's filet, it was...ok. It was very large piece of meat and very thick. It was prepared a bit on the rarer side and somewhat underseasoned. Otherwise, it was a good dish. As a sidenote, my wife ordered a glass of wine with her steak (she asked the waitor to pick a decent pino noir). The wine was amazing, and I am disappointed I did not write down the brand.
After the goat cheese incident, we decided to skip desert.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. If nothing else, we will return for cocktails. My one recommendation: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING HERE WITH GOAT CHEESE. In all seriousness, I'm hoping the kitchen just messed up my dish; I can't imagine someone intentionally ruining $48 of snapper and lobster risotto by adding that much goat cheese.
Wonderful experience. We are big FM fans so the art gallery was a wonderful thing to see.
Our waiter however was one of those "nose in the air" "fake nice" guys who thinks he knows more about our tastes than we do. His snobby attitude was the only negative. Otherwise all good.
This place has potential, but our pricy fish and vegetables came out cold. After being sent back it was returned only slightly warmer and over cooked. We ate on the upper floor and the servers must bring food up a staircase. Perhaps this is why the food was cold and the service slow. The restaurant gave us a complementary dessert for our trouble (we choose the pineapple pie) but that was also cold. It would have been great warmed.
Our bartender was very rude on the rooftop. We were waiting for our table so we asked her how much a bottle of wine was(was going to buy it regardless) and she laughed in our face and didn’t give us an answer. Instead she gave us a bill before asking if we were finished. We were there for my birthday, my husband and I were about to go elsewhere for dinner since we live in Kihei and had driven to Lahaina to eat here. Luckily our waitress was amazing and really turned our moods and the rest of our experience around even ended my birthday dinner with a special dessert.
Had a great dinner on the rooftop. Service was decent, the guy filling my water glass should have got majority of the tip. My drink glass was empty a lot longer. Waitress assumed she was getting a 20% tip, never asked if I wanted change. She still got 20%. Best roof top in Lahaina. Try the monchong.
I saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and we gave it a try. They had live music the night we were there and we had a "front row" seat to the music. The musician was very good. It was a bit loud in the restaurant, but not overwhelming. The food was great! The best crab cakes we have ever had. The service was impeccable and they were very attentive. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely go back.
I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was raw in the middle. The fries never showed up when the meal was served. It took a long time for the waitress to come back to let her know the chicken was raw in the middle. By that point there was no time to get something else. The fries came as we were getting our check.
When we is it Maui, we always have at least a couple of dinners at Mick Fleetwood's restaurant. We had a great time, great food, service and music. The atmosphere is pleasant and there is lots of Rock & Roll memorabilia. The wait staff are vert friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and we've had many terrific meals at Fleetwood's. We surely will be back again when we have an occasion to visit Maui. *
Great waterfront views. Fresh locally sourced food carefully composed dish. They have children’s menu and live entertainment in the evening. Good cocktails and rooftop bar area. The Hawaiian sunset ritual was very informative and entertaining They are reasonably priced considering the service and atmosphere. We will be returning.
