About Flavio's Brick Oven Bar
Our casual restaurant has a retro contemporary theme which includes a carved wood bar topped with marble, granite table tops and bright turquoise and red accents flanking the wood-burning brick oven. Terrace seating is shared with our fine dining concept Bella Roma.
Flavio, a third-generation chef from Venice, Italy, says his Farinata is not available anywhere else in the area. The thin pancake (much like a tortilla) is made of chickpeas, baked in the wood-burning oven and enhanced with rosemary and other savory toppings.
Among Flavio's thin-crust pizzas (his grandfather's recipes) are the popular Quattro Stagioni (fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, prosciutto, olives) and the Pizza Vegetariana with assorted grilled veggies. The rustic bread and focaccia are made on the premises. Flavio's also serves up house-made pasta dishes, plus veal and seafood entrees.
We look forward to serving you!

Flavio's Brick Oven Bar Ratings and Reviews
Flavios continues to serve up great northern Italian fare in the heart of Siesta Key village. The short ribs over Pappardelle melts in your mouth. We have also tried the pan seared Branzino, and the Chicken Milanese with a dash of lemon - crispy and bright served with Arugula. The brick oven Pizzas are thin crust with a tangy tomato sauce and all the usual great topping choices. An extensive wine list and great desserts like the chocolate creampuffs, Italian cheesecake, and fresh cannoli top off the meal. A must visit for dinner on the key.
This was my fourth visit. I only have two minor quibbles: the table we were sat at was wrought iron and tiny and because my friend and I have long legs we were pretty uncomfortable. It was also right by the door and a smoker was just outside the door. I'm definitely requesting a different table next time.
I also asked for no cheese ad instead extra sauce on my pizza. My pizza came with minuscule sauce though our waiter, when asked, kindly brought me a bowl of marinara sauce. Who knows if this was server miscommunication or stubborn chef.
My date and I really enjoyed Flavio's. The food was flavorful and the portion size was more than adequate! Joseph, our server really enhanced our dining experience. He was attentive and ever so pleasant. Nice wine list as well. We will return for the brick oven pizza.
The name is a little deceiving, it's way more than just brick oven pizza! I had the veal piccata and my son has the spaghetti carbonara then we split the meals so we could each have some of both. Both dishes were prepared perfectly and were sooooooo good! Our server did a fantastic job! We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend Flavios Brick Oven Pizza.
Joseph, who was our Server, was excellent as usual. His appetizer recommendations were spot on. As was the special, Salmon Lasagna. My wife had the risotto dish and was very pleased. Our friends were also pleased with the service and the food. The only disappointment was that there was no acknowledgement of our wives birthdays. I had put a note in our reservation that we were celebrating a double birthday, but it must have been overlooked. Look forward to dining here again.
Flavio's was surprisingly good. We didn't expect much from it's location in a strip mall, but had heard that the pizza was very good. And I'm on a mission to find the perfect Margarita pizza. Their happy hour has a nice assortment of plates for $9, and my husband got the eggplant rollatini, which he enjoyed. For dinner, our friends had the lasagna and fettucini carbonara, which both said were excellent. My husband had a pasta dish in tomato sauce. All portions were sufficient that there was plenty to take home. The dough on my pizza was excellent. Toppings flavorful. My only complaint is to me - a margarita pizza is slices of tomato and slices of mozzarella. I have yet to find a restaurant here that makes one like that. Servers were knowledgeable and friendly, so definitely worth a return trip.
Flavio's is our favorite restaurant on Siesta Key and we patronize it as often as we can when we're on the key. The food is consistently good, the service is always good, they have a very good wine list, and it's a very friendly place to dine. We will definitely return on our next trip to Siesta Key in October.
