About FlameStone American Grill - Oldsmar
FlameStone American Grill is a casually sophisticated American Grill that places an emphasis on cooking with nature’s most basic elements: Fire & Stone. Our passion is to serve highly flavored food with the highest quality service possible. We use natural cooking techniques such as grilling over an open fire or preparing our guacamole using lava stone, to give our food exceptional flavor and taste.
Starters such as Tableside Guacamole or Stone Oven Flat Breads make your first choice a tough one. FlameStone’s Tableside Guacamole is an experience that is unlike any guacamole you have ever tasted. Made tableside using a traditional Molcajete, we only use Haas Avocados and the freshest ingredients possible. It is truly amazing.
If a great steak is your weakness, you’ll love our steaks. At FlameStone we grill our steaks over an open flame and only use Stock Yards Chicago Angus Beef that is 28 day aged and that are hand cut on premises.

FlameStone American Grill - Oldsmar Ratings and Reviews
We are frequent diners at Flamestone. Last Saturday was especially crowded. We had 7:30 reservations. There was an accident enroute so I called to notify of a possible 5min delay, though did arrive at 7:33p. Were told our table was being bussed - had requested a booth. After 20min, I asked for an update & was told the manager had seated another couple at that table who had been waiting in line before us; waiting for another both to clear. We were finally seated at 8:05p, nearly 30min after arrival. By the time we ordered drinks & appetizer, it was was nearly 8:30 when our drinks arrived & 8:45 for the appetizer. I has the Bubbles& Berries,(2) which I had gotten several times in the past,. This time, neither contained any berries. Since I did not wish to keep complaining, I did not say anything . The bartender should have known how they were made/ had been made in the past. Our server, Ashley, was very nice& apologetic for the delays. We ordered the NY strip special with blackberry sauce & told Ashley about a special we'd had in the past with blueberry& goat cheese. She was able to have goat cheese added to our dinners. As expected, this combination was unique & delicious. The steaks were cooked as ordered, however we both felt the steaks were not as tender as they could have been, or as they had been in the past. Perhaps the better cuts had been used earlier in the evening, as it was after 9p by the time we ordered and received dinner, but that was a bit disappointing, especially for the price. We did tell Ashley, but only to alert the kitchen for future reference, as we did nearly finish both meals. When ready to pay the bill, the computers were down, so we had to wait. Ashley stood by and engaged in conversation, keeping at eye out for a sign that the computers were back up. She was very personable and attentive throughout the evening. All things considered, had this been our 1st experience there, I am not sure that we would return.
We have dined at Flame Grill on multiple occasions. Every time the service has been superb and the food excellent. The only complaint we had with this last visit was the sirloin steak - it was tough, there was gristle, and it was overcooked - medium instead of medium rare. Yes, our server did ask, but I wasn't going to waste food by sending it back. Your cooks/chefs could certainly take a lesson from Longhorn where I frequently order sirloin which is always cooked to perfection. It's tender and flavorful. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoy dining at Flamestone where we're not inundated with TV screens.
Called for a reservation - ditzy hostess said nothing available til 8pm. Five mins later, I booked a 5 pm res on Open Table - no problem. Same ditzy hostess failed to check us in for the reservation, causing a ding from Open Table. We cleared it up, but shouldn't have had to. Service was adequate, but inattentive and slow - my glass stood empty a good long while with no one in sight. Food was good.
Exceptionally pricey for what was offered. Best appetizer Mac cheese but still pricey. Nothing stood out steak was mediocre. Salad ok. No complimentary rolls or bread as offered. Maybe revamp menu to compete with other restaurants. Maybe better for the wine loving clientele?
Went for New Years Eve dinner. Was disappointed, although not surprised, that only an abbreviated menu was offered. We've been many times and unfortunately our favorites weren't on that holiday menu. Other than that, we were seated only a few minutes late and food was good. Service was a little pushy, guessing to keep reservations on time, but it isn't usually like that. Very nice place overall.
Service was a bit slow to start because it was crowded for New Year’s Eve, but after we ordered drinks the rest of the night was perfect. Fresh table side guacamole, perfectly cooked filet mignon and a delicious creme brûlée to top off the meal. Thank you David!!!
Both our Waiter and Bo, one of the managers on Duty were very accommodating to our New Years Eve party of (6)...The quality of a restaurant is judged by more than the food, and it the quality of service and how helpful the staff is when encountering an issue, these folks were up the challenge...Good Job !!!
Thanks for making our New Years Eve Dinner special !
We celebrated New Years Eve at Flamestone. We each had a different entrée, and all were equally delicious. The Chilean sea bass was exquisite! We shared a table side guacamole which they are known for. Delicious. The shrimp cocktail was perfect. Service was impeccable for such a busy holiday evening. The price point for each entrée was excellent for the value of the meal. We will be back!!!!
We regularly enjoy this neighborhood place and I hold business Lunches there a few times a month so we made a reservation for an early and easy New Years Eve dinner. The experience was so bad we had wine, paid the bill and left without eating. We went down the street and found a new neighborhood place.
We went there for a Christmas Eve dinner. Before making a reservation we determined they did have a kids menu and decided this would be a nice local place to eat before the Christmas Eve lights drive. The food was wonderful, and our server (Armando?) Was excellent. In the future we will return to this restaurant sans child. While there was nothing not kid friendly, it was dimly lit and quiet for the most part, which was not the most comfortable for him. That said the experience was great and the only negative was a minor one, and not of their doing.
the music was too loud and the noise level from the customers conversation within the restaurant made it very difficult to have a converation at our table. I told the hostess on our way out and she agreed that it is too noisy...the food was good but our orders were mixed up. most likely because the waiter couldn't hear us either....
This place needs a new menu. They have been serving the same heavy, cheesy, digestive challenging dishes for many years. The only notable difference on the menu since our last visit a couple years ago was the higher prices! The ribs were so tough they could not be chewed. The grouper sandwich was fishy smelling and gave me indigestion. I see no reason to spend this much for such mediocrity.
