About FlameStone American Grill - Oldsmar
FlameStone American Grill is a casually sophisticated American Grill that places an emphasis on cooking with nature’s most basic elements: Fire & Stone. Our passion is to serve highly flavored food with the highest quality service possible. We use natural cooking techniques such as grilling over an open fire or preparing our guacamole using lava stone, to give our food exceptional flavor and taste.
Starters such as Tableside Guacamole or Stone Oven Flat Breads make your first choice a tough one. FlameStone’s Tableside Guacamole is an experience that is unlike any guacamole you have ever tasted. Made tableside using a traditional Molcajete, we only use Haas Avocados and the freshest ingredients possible. It is truly amazing.
If a great steak is your weakness, you’ll love our steaks. At FlameStone we grill our steaks over an open flame and only use Stock Yards Chicago Angus Beef that is 28 day aged and that are hand cut on premises.

FlameStone American Grill - Oldsmar Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing starting with the salad that came to the table without dressing. Then when I got the ceasar dressing there was no flavor. Then the food had no flavor either. I have never put so much salt and pepper on a steak or mash potatoes to give it some flavor.
One of my favorite restaurants! I made my reservation via the OpenTable app and when we got there we were sat outside without asking if we wanted a choice. Of course the one night it was cold for my friends and wanted a seat inside. We asked if there was a table and was told it was only for those with reservations! I then mentioned to manger I did have a reservation. She went to look up and came back and apologized. She was very helpful to get us to a table inside. No big deal just slight inconvenience that could’ve solved when we arrived. Other than that food is still great! Always recommend the “Ribs, Steak and the Tableside Quac”
The food was very good and the service was excellent. We said in our reservation that it was a dinner for a birthday and anniversary, but neither were acknowledged. Why even ask? Other places do something to welcome the guest with a "Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary" thanks for choosing our restaurant for you celebration. FlameStone did nothing, as if they were not aware of our celebration. Maybe Open Table did not forward the reason for out dinner.
Steak was way under cooked for medium rare - it was still purple inside. That was corrected but then manager knocked over my drink as he was bringing it back. No apology or attempt to retain us as customers. Dessert was insanely over priced for what we were given, which us essentially vanilla pudding.
We were in Tampa from out of state and chose FlameStone for our evening meal. There were 3 of us and all food was exceptional. I had the petite steak and it was cooked to perfection. We also started with the guacamole prepared at our table. It was really outstanding. We would definitely eat here again when in Oldsmar. They took reservations, which we appreciated. It was a bit noisy, but they seated us in an area that was a little quieter for a Friday night. A personal opinion, but I wish restaurants would turn down the music a little to create a more conducive atmosphere for conversation. Overall, we were very pleased with the quality of the food and the courtesy of the staff.
Service here is always friendly and attentive without being pushy or overbearing. Drinks are refilled in a timely manner. Special requests are met with aplomb. Food is well-seasoned and meets the comfort food anticipation. The menu has remained fairly consistent with a broad variety of choices. There are always specials-usually a beef and a seafood. This is always a great choice for dining.
We dine here quite often and are never disappointed. We took family including two small children to dine and Drew and the entire staff made us feel at home and very welcome. Food was excellent and even the small children finished their kid's meal. Can not say enough good things about Flamestone and the entire staff.
Paul my waiter was beyond a wonderful waiter. He was very knowledgeable of the dishes and was on top of every request.
I ordered something like a Marsala chicken and my husband got the Mile high meatloaf. Although he complained to me the meatloaf was only an inch high; It was truly delicious. The seafood chowder soup was the best soup I have ever had at a restaurant. We definitely will be returning.
Food was good. Service was lacking. Took a while to be greeted at our table. Lacked in refilling our drinks & checking to see if we needed anything else. Had to ask another server for some different dressing because our server was no where to be seen. We've been here several times & never experienced this type of service.
Flamestone provided an excellent atmosphere, refreshing drinks, and great-tasting food to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The table side guacamole was a real treat to watch it be prepared at our table! Our server was a great conversationalist, and I cannot wait to visit again.
This place is awesome. Went with my wife on Sunday for Brunch. We had the Tuna tower for an appetizer, it was very good. I then had Crab Cake Benedict, which was delicious. My wife had regular Eggs Benedict which was very good too. Nico was our server, and he couldn't have been better. We had a great experience. Thank you.
We had an amazing dinner with friends at Flamestone last weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were plentiful. Two of us had the Flamestone Chicken -- a generous size chicken breast with spinach, feta, sun dried tomatoes and a white wine lemon sauce. The other two had prime rib and sirloin, again very generous portions cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were to die for! We took advantage of the happy hour drink prices and one of us enjoyed ice cold domestic drafts for only $2.20! The coup de gras was dessert -- an enormous slice of the best carrot cake we had ever experienced. Upon inquiry, our server told us it was home made by a speciality bakery. Each couple shared a slice and we still took some home!
Our service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive to all our needs without hovering. The various dishes were served at just the right time. We never felt like we were waiting too long, nor did we ever feel rushed.
The atmosphere was a bit busy and noisy but never enough so as to interfere with conversation. Overall we had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend Flamestone and will be back.
We frequent the FlameStone on at least a monthly - sometimes more - basis, and are generally very satisfied with the food etc. Which is why we keep returning. I have previously posted glowing reviews about the awesome specials etc. This past Saturday was extremely busy, as it often is During season, so perhaps the volume was not expected. It seemed they (cook staff) may not have been able to handle the amount of orders. The grilled artichoke was a bit overdone and somewhat dry - this is something we order each and every time. My prime rib was completely brown to look at - and completely well done when cut into. It was returned and replaced with a pink one in a reasonable amount of time. My husband's rib-eye was prepared as requested, though after beginning his meal, he realized that the amount of fat under the seasoning and blue cheese was extraordinary. Realizing that rib-eye does have a big fat content, the fat content in this particular piece was much larger than previous rib-eyes at FlameStone and more than should be expected. Lastly, we were seated in the enclosed patio area for the first time. The noise level here from several large tables, as well as the volume of the music playing made it difficult to hear the waitress, as well as each other. So, all in all, it was not FlameStone's best night. Luckily, this was not our first time there, as if it was, we likely would not be returning.
