Flame Brazilian Steakhouse – Grand Casino Hotel and Resort
Three of us ate here on a Saturday night. We all thought the experience was worth the time and money. None of us ate enough food to make it a fancy buffet price, but we had what we wanted and all of it was good to very good. Would not hesitate to go again if at the hotel. : )
Birthday . Great dinner, food and service. Fun
Great Food and Service. I am really enjoyed ourselves.
Tasty and classy.
Meat was good everything else was okay. Nothing special.
Food was great as it is always servers very accommodating but took forever to get a refill on my tea and our side dishes..
The salad bar side of the meal would have been enough to rant about all on its on, it was impressive. But the stars of the meal were the meats, which were seasoned and cooked to perfection. This place is definitely on the pricey side,so unfortunately, I can afford to eat here regularly, however, it will be my go-to place for special occasions.
The service was ok at the end of my visit, but it took 8 minutes for staff to even notice I was waiting to be seated, and I had a reservation.
Then it took another 15 minutes before any gauchos came around with meat.
I was also seated very far away and out of the road from the kitchen, and that lessened the frequency of meat.
The food was not great in comparison with other Brazilian Steakhouses, as it lacked flavor. And one of my less favorite cuts (the bone in rib) turned out to be the best in flavor and texture. Overall underwhelming, to be honest.
Overall great experience. Some of the meat I received was a little cold
What to call it? Flame out? Brazilian Mis-steak House? Misteak, get it? If you are in any way familiar with Brazilian churrascarias, the restaurants with huge salad bars and all-you-can eat grilled meats brought to your table on long skewers, then you can skip this one. (They are everywhere in Brazil, and there are a few serious chains that do a fair attempt at reproducing the food in the US, but again, not this one.) The salad bar was actually nice; the lightly cooke, marinated asparagus was especially good. But the "feijoada" was not even close (undercooked), and key elements of these meals were missing; there was no couve (sautéed collard greens, which are essential to digesting all that meat), no farofa (toasted manioc flour, which adds a delightful crunch and helps absorb fat), no manioc in any form, and no vinaigrette, the tangy tomato and onion salsa (that helps cut the fat). While these digestive aids and flavor enhancers were missing, what was added was sugar...lots and lots of sugar. Sugar in the chimichurri (what????), and so much sugar on the ribs that they were inedible. Oh, and bacon. If the meat is good quality, it doesn't need to be wrapped in bacon. Finally, the picanha, that distinctive Brazilian beef cut, tasted like it had been marinated in toilet bowl cleaner - I have no idea what they did to it, or why, but they transformed that delectable cut of meat into something horrid. What a shame, since there are no contenders around here, and the place is attractive (in spite of the cheap, smokey environment of the casino). We won't be returning, that's for sure. I'd rather do without.
Food was great. Service was great. Price was close to expected but well worth it. More food than you can eat
It was a great experience and we really enjoyed the food. I have already been recommending it to other people and will definitely be returning!
We love the Flame Restaurant. We love the fact that we are allowed to take our time enjoy the food and atmosphere. We have had the same waitress Ricca on several occasions. She is very thoughtful customer oriented. Very timely with her service and always puts her customers first. Thank you for making my Birthday Dinner memorable. Definitely be back.
We had a great time on a Wednesday night (3/20). Even though there were very few customers at this time, we were not bugged consistently by the server and she kept our drinks filled, which is VERY important!! Thank you very much!
Bless our waitress heart. As we where getting ready for our check the computer system shut down. She was so sweet about it. They tallied up several checks and we all where able to pay by cash. They where a very awesome group and the food awesome.
We were asked how we liked our steak, we said medium rare, however all beef that was brought to our table was medium well at best with the exception of one cut. They offered my husband pork and chicken while I was at salad bar, however I was never asked after returning to the table. Mash potatoes were cold. I realize we came in at the later part of the evening but for the price I was expecting better.
The meat was burnt on the outside and dry. We had to wait forever to get meat served after asking several times. We only had 3 different meat selections offered to us. Wasn’t happy with the experience or the restaurant.
This was our fourth visit. Gave it five stars on the other visits. This time the service was not as good. Flank steak was gristly this time. Drinks did not come on time. Gauchos came out even when we were not ready and waitress forgot about the free birthday dessert—we had to remind her. We tipped anyway. Overall we felt as though we were being rushed. Maybe since we were repeat visitors? I think if we had said we were new, we may have gotten better service? Not sure if we will be back again since we were disappointed. Thanks.
Great as always.
Third visit here. Flame is the “upscale” dining at the casino, or so it use to be. I’m not a sommelier, however I do enjoy wine and know a fair amount. So, when my wife orders a Prosecco , which was a bottle, please bring a chiller of some sort - ice! Next, wine glasses are shaped a certain way for a reason. Sparkling goes in a flute. Reds and whites don’t go in the same glass. Food was decent, but had to ask for everything. Side dishes brought late, had to ask to have table cleared. Ordered a cordial with my desert. Drink didn’t even show up, finally canceled it. Oh, and the Crème brûlée was cold. Even the Caramelized sugar on top. So, I get this place is a casino, but, for the price I would expect more.
We were put back in the corner; where the guys kept forgetting to bring us any meat. We never got any cut of meat of our liking. The first time we went it was the best experience, but this last time it made us not want to come back. The waitress was amazing though; she did a great job taking care of us.
I have health problems that don't allow me to eat undercooked meat and they can't do that. When it was cooked all the way through the outside was burnt and it was super dry
The service was great. Mikayla our server
was Awesome. She took the time to explain the way the food service worked and helped us choose some delicious drinks from the bar. The salad bar if you could call it that!!?? Was full of fresh fish/shellfish, cheeses, warm sides, and was a meal in its self. We were pleasantly filled in our bellies and couldn't wait to make our next reservation and bring friends.
Great place for a date night!
Third time to dine here. Very good service and food was very good.
Second time having dinner at Flame with my wife. Both times were amazing!!!
Wonderful as always
Amazing food and service!
Great food but, a little over priced. The selection is outstanding and cooked perfectly.
My first time here, and I will be back. The service was fast, efficient, and friendly. The meat service was excellent. They would often ask if there was anything you wanted other than what they were serving. The lamb was a bit overcooked for my preference, but the flank steak made up for it! I can't wait to come back!
I’ve been to quite a few Brazilian steakhouses, and this was my least favorite experiences. Good drink prices, so you may want to drink it up before going or reading the rest of my review. It looked nice inside but that’s about the extent of it, and beyond that there was no attention to detail. There was a wadded up tablecloth in my chair when I sat down. The waitress was not professional and acted like she just came in from the farm. She even told us how the cheese bread isn’t undercooked, just has cheese in it(no s**t, who hasn’t had cheese bread). Wondered if it was just her or many of their customers are from the country and haven’t been to a nice restaurant before. They had sushi on the buffet but no chop sticks, how do you eat your sushi with a fork? Our drinks were not what we ordered, still not sure what it was. The waitress asked our preference on how we wanted our meat done... but didn’t ever get any that way. The meat was overdone for the most part and seemed to be well done(no flavor). Great concept for a casino, not sure if it’s the staff or customers dumbing it down. This place is not in the same ballpark as to Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chão. Won’t be dining again.
The group I was with really enjoyed our dinner. It was fairly close to closing time on a Sunday and I think we were the only customers in the restaurant. Some of the meat was a bit overcooked, but most of it was spot on.
My only complaint was that they didn't have a beer list, and the beers listed by our server were very pedestrian. There didn't seem to be much of a selection of imports. Either that, or our server just didn't know what all was available. We ended up sharing a nice bottle of wine instead.
I will definitely go again, though maybe at a busier time when the food turns over quicker and doesn't sit on the grill for an extended period of time.
The food was excellent , especially the filet. It was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Service was outstanding
Took my husband for his birthday, he was impressed and loved the food.
Our first time and cant wait to go back. Told our friends how it's a must go. Our server was cheerful , very professional and so were the gauchos. The food was outstanding and the ambiance just tied it all together.
So...if you like nice steak houses you will be disappointed. There were certainly a lot of different things to eat centered around a buffet bar, but you will wait and wait and wait....and wait for the meats to come around. Surprisingly, the flank and sirloin cuts (Which were right off the grill and hot) were better than anything else. The chicken and filet were over cooked and dry. There were a few nice touches, the bleu cheese grapes and the sautéed mushrooms were very nice, and we were able to get a decent Cab to go with our meal (although they were out of the Jordan Cab we tried to order). This is the only place to get steak at the Grand Casino but I wish I could have ordered one perfectly done steak off a menu to go with all the other items and I wouldn’t have to wait. Epic Fail for concept. Two stars because the desert we only had to wait and wait for was pretty good.
Food and service were both great! The salad bar was a pleasant surprise.
