Flaherty's Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar
We know good seafood, we know how to buy it and we know how to prepare it. Unlike most restaurants (even the best of them) where fish is often a secondary item on the menu...at Flaherty's it's all about seafood.
Here, you will experience a small town, comfortable, family atmosphere, where quality ingredients and quality preparation come together with quality service. We also include gluten free items in our menu to provide all of our customers with the best service possible. It's who we are...come and experience seafood like it was meant to be.
Fabulous menu! Couldn’t decide what to order because the menu is so fantastic! We loved it amd we are snobby foodies
Dinner was very good. Server was excellent! This was our 2nd visit. Would recommend if you are in town.
For the money, you can pay a little more at most seafood restaurants in the area and get food with a great deal more quality. The sand dabs were especially disappointing.
The food was excellent and our server was very experienced and knowledgeable
The food was excellent, the ambience to be desired. We were sitting in a cafe style restaurant with
a lot of activity all around...they had a tablecloth area in the next building but said it would not be open
until six. We left at 6:45 and it was still closed.
Food was great. We ordered seafood Louis salad two days in a row and the second day was much smaller for the same price
We've been coming here since 1982, and Flaherty's has been consistently excellent over the years even as its menu has been updated. Always the freshest ingredients, and the dishes are well prepared. The wine list is well paired to the menu offerings, and offers excellent value, especially for downtown Carmel. Service staff are friendly and accommodating. This place is a winner!
Big portion and great food
Nice birthday dinner with hubby and two of our adult children. The food was good and the service great.
Loved this quite, cozy seafood restaurant in the middle of Carmel. The owner took our picture for us!
Friendly and pleasant hostess, helpful servers, good selection of fresh oysters, a lot of options on the menu, delicious and fresh food.
It was Sunday on Labor Day weekend. Although we made our reservations for 7pm two days in advance, when we walked up they said that all reservations made after 5pm that day had to be put on a waiting list. We were put on the waiting list anyway-hmm. I wish he said nothing about that made-up rule, because it really wasn’t a problem and we had a great experience and dinner. Thanks!
A never-miss-it dining spot whenever we're in Carmel. The seafood is fresh and delicious, offering a menu with plenty of variety and it never disappoints!
Crab cocktail tasted excellent. Paella was good, but over cooked-shell had Fish dried out. Service taking the order was great, but follow-up was non-existent. A good overall experience that could have been great.
I made a reservation at 12:30 for 2:45 lunch with friends. We arrived at 2:30. There was a line waiting to be seated. We were told we’d be seated at our reserved time but when we came back we were told it’s 45 minutes and we got rid of all open table reservations. The host was less than accommodating, he did offer a discount so I discussed with my friends and went into the restaurant to find the host. He was discussing with another waiting customer that he’d be able to seat them within a few minutes, I was quite unhappy that our reservation meant nothing but walk ups were given tables. We ended up dining across the street, the host took us over there because we had a child with us and could not wait the 45 minutes we were told. We looked over across the street 15 minutes later and all in the line had been seated. I thought we were treated poorly, unprofessionally. Very disappointed, to say the least. “You know how to take the reservation but you don’t know how to hold the reservation!” J. Seinfeld. Seems essential to a professional run restaurant.
Excellent omelets. Potatoes were great. Can't wait to return!
Average. Restaurant was unprepared for our party, even though I made reservations, called to confirm and was called by the restaurant to confirm. Food was on the salty side. Our server was really great though.
Great food, we sat outside and enjoyed the cool weather under the heaters. The place does seem a little understaffed but the waiters and the owner were awesome.
The electricity was out and people were eating by lantern. The man at the door should have said something but was condescending at best. No fried food was available and the service was lacking. You would think it would be better considering we decided to stay at the restaurant under these conditions. And the food, not good. Tasted like Ragu.
Service was great. Our waitress was extraordinarily kind and attentive. Unfortunately the food was subpar. Had some really bad oysters and clams. And the seafood Grill was nothing special. If it weren’t for the wonderful waitress, this rating would be a lot lower.
Waitstaff and owner were wonderful from start to finish for a table of 9.
Monterey car week with my family every year. Food was very bad this year. Lobster tail stuck to shell, seems frozen too long and very small. We ordered 3 dozen oysters, Kumamoto, Faney Bay, and blue point. The blue point was bad and smells, they gave us a dozen Kumamoto to replace it. I’ve been coming here for 2-3 decades and I’m very disappointed this time! Food quality is very bad this year.
We were in Carmel/Monterey for “Car Week.”
Our Cobb seafood salad was disapointing. Letuce wasn't crisp, seafood portions were small. Service was great, Bloody Mary's were good.
We really enjoyed coming from the Bay Area and dining at the restaurant. It has been our favorite restaurant for a long time!
Every dinner was bad. For example, the sea bass dish consisted of a few cubes of seabass in a bad tasting broth. Will not go back.
The service was amazing-even during a very busy time. Food was typical casual sea food fare.
Great restaurant in Carmel. First time in years but the food is still outstanding. Take your best friend there and you will be very very pleased.
Broad selection of fresh and frozen seafood. Oysters were excellent and the bisque most enjoyable .
We had a 7:15 pm reservation and weren’t seated till 7:45 pm. Manager was very abrupt. Food was lackluster. Waitresses were very nice.
Not the place for special occasion. Food was just OK, not for foodies at all. Fun place, eating area in bar and another in another room for dining also. Fast paced. Definitely seafood oriented but again, not for foodies. Just simple seafood fare. We would not return but I understand for the value is good. Not expensive at all. We’re willing to pay more for more flavorful, crafted sauces etc.
Great food in a chilled out local place. By far the best seafood we ate on West Coast
First time in, tried based solely on reviews. The menu has something for everyone. Food was pretty good, service was great, the prices were reasonable for the location.
Awesome food awesome service awesome ambiance!! Can’t wait to go back. Jenny and Nathan are sooo nice. Great drink list too!! Oyster are the freshest I’ve ever had!!
Good food and friendly staff however it was a bit pricey.
Outstanding food and customer service. Jennifer did a great job.
The waiting time to get the food is super long. And unfortunately, the food is not impressive.
Everything was terrific! I'd recommend to my friends!
Food and service was good. Had reservations for 8 people, but another group of 8 showed just before us and our table was given to them. Never asked for the name in which the reservation was made, simple "assumed" that those 8 people was my group. Took about 15 minutes before they came up with seating.
