Amazing experience! Really want to recommend to friends!
Great food and service
Excellent service et vue magnifique
What a lovely dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The food was definitely a hit. The halibut presentation was beautiful. The taste was perfect. There were several guests who had salmon and agreed it was cooked perfectly. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. A special place for a special dinner. We highly recommend this restaurant. Sometime the view is the selling point. I would say the food and views are worth the price.
We have been going to this restaurant about once a year for the last 5 years. The service, food, ambience and quality has not changed one ioty. It is amazing that they remember us and always go above and beyond what I would expect. They truly care about their customers and their experience. I would recommend this establishment to even the most seasoned connoisseur. They are a huge cut of any fine dining restaurant I have ever been to. Thank you so much for your service and true commitment to us.
on behalf of all ladies enjoying a fabulous evening at your lovely restaurant, I express our thank you to your staff and chef (outstanding lamb dinner), and enjoying our favorite wine (Burrowing Owl).
It was a wonderful evening and surprise to the Birthday Lady.
The views from the restaurant are really stunning. You have a great view of the harbour plus the mountains. There is constant entertainment from the float planes, passing ships and boats, etc. There is no compromise to the quality of the food. We had the wild salmon and it was very moist plus flavourful. The sommelier suggested a perfect BC Chardonnay (Painted Post) to pair with it. The extras like the tuna tartar and chocolates and cookies at the end were extra good. Service was OK and seemed stretched. The hostess stood out as exceptional and checked in with us a couple of times.
Attentive and friendly service, great food and an unbeatable location!
Thank you for a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and wonderfully prepared & presented. The sauces tasted so good with the perfect amount of seasoning. Both quantity and quality superb. The desserts were magnificent: “Beautiful BC” tasted every bit as good as looked. And, I was thoroughly captivated by it’s beauty, flavour and execution by a clearly talented chief. This was my first time at Five Sails, and there were no disappointments!
A very special event in quiet surroundings with attentive service to complement the Dover Sole (out of this world) and the wonderful view over the Inlet.
The view of the harbor was magnificent but so was the food. My lamb and my wife’s salmon were cooked to our liking and the presentation was beautiful. Dessert was in another category. My wife had the lemon phyllo dessert and I had the Bailey’s Chocolate Opera Slice. A great end to a great day.
The waitress cleared the table and gave us dessert menus. I reminded her we had not yet had the main dish. She recovered nicely.
Celebrated my 80th on Canada Day. Great food, service and ambience. Even a candle on my opera cake. Memorable!
Our dinner was a gift from our children. They researched the area for special restaurants and they did a great job with this one! The service was flawless and the flavors of everything we tasted were amazing.
I had not been to Five Sails before and went their for my parent's anniversary.
The food was excellent and they made an effort to make things special for my parents.
There was good variety in the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. I had actually expected things to be more expensive but they were not. Although cost is not something you usually associate with fine dining I have to say that I definitely felt it was value for money.
Will definitely return again.
Beyond amazing, the atmosphere the service the food the view. It's a must when you get to Vancouver
Menu specials were EXCELLENT!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at Five Sails and we’re thrilled to be at a window table as requested. Excellent food and service!
Genuine first rate food, preparation, service and presentation. Not just another pretty place. The view? Phenomenal. Pricey, but worth it.
Absolutely outstanding dinner experience. Amazing dishes and superb service.
Wow! Fantastic meal, great service and a beautiful view. Could not have asked for a better experience to celebrate my sons birthday. My son commented that he could not remember having a better meal. We will be back!
We did the set menu with the wine and it was superb
Excellent food and service. My only complaint is the very small size of portions in general but especially of beef tenderloin: two pieces, one cubic inch each!
Exceptional! Everything! The view was beautiful. Every bite...delicious! Service impeccable. The only minor minus was I had two bones in the last two bites of my fish. Other than that, it was an extremely memorable meal. You will not be disappointed!
The service was outstanding. The reception and food delivery was perfect.
One of the very best, high-end restaurants in town--and one of the few that has been able to maintain extremely high standards for years. A wonderful place to take important guests while showing them a lovely view of Coal Harbour. Particularly in the summer, bonus views of cruise ships departing for Alaska, as well as great sunsets. Five Sails is a must for those special occasions, or to impress out-of-town visitors, or simply for a romantic dinner where the clatter of the room or the chatter of the servers does not intrude. Highly recommended.
Loved this restaurant! Very infrequently do you find a restaurant with a spectacular view that also has outstanding food. When in Vancouver this is a “not to be missed” dining experience. Impeccable service as well!
Bit of cookie cutter experience. Food was good and prepared well. Staff needs help as they were just going through the motions.
The veal tenderloin’s crab risotto felt like I died and got a peak of heaven and came back to earth. This is my second time eating at 5 sails and it’s safe to say this place really matches with my taste buds. Thank you for making such a great restaurant.
Very nice place. Wonderful views, fabulous food.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had
Five Sails is fine dining with a remarkable view. We drove to Vancouver from Bellingham for a night out and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner with top notch hostess and table service. Menu and food are first class. I had Copper River Salmon cooked to perfection. No problem getting a reservation on a Monday evening. Parking is readily available at parking garages. This is for special occasions. Leave the kids at home.
We arrived there 30 mins early but Mrs. Gerry was kind enough to let us have our seats even though they havent started taking seats for 7’o clock. Really grateful for that . The food was good but we didnt expect that the lobster soup wouldnt have any at least pieces of lobster in it hehe . It was all soup but it was okay. We had waited approximately 30 mins for the entree but it was worth it. We really enjoyed the veil tenderloin risotto. the staff were all friendly especially Mrs. Gerry. 2 times i came here she had always greeted us with a smile and she made sure that all her guests were having a wonderful time. Of course when we were waiting i would always look around to watch how everything works. And there i was observing , she always keeps herself busy, she grabs every opportunity there is to even provide service even if the littlest request. She has a great attitude and Shes all around hosting, supervising her staff and you could see shes a very workaholic woman. Had i not seen any owner work this much around in their own restaurant but Ms gerry. our server was great also . Only if i could remember her name .
The views from the restaurant are amazing. The service was second to none. I did wish there were more than 2 vegetarian options available other than ravioli and mushroom risotto. I appreciated the dress code not being too formal. It's a great place for a special occasion.
Great food, great service as always.
Outstanding view, food and service!
Our second time her. View is amazing. Food is great. This time there was an extremely loud gathering in a side room which was more than annoying each time the door opened to the room. Seriously, it was like a stadium in there.
Our waitress is very pushy. We hadn’t been seated for more than 2” when she asked to take our order, then kept returning every 2” thereafter. We were celebrating an anniversary and wanted a leisurely dinner. There were only 5 tables occupied at the time. Not sure what the rush was all about.
Good food and service, very nice place for a special occasion. Nice surprise for my wife with a birthday dessert.
Wonderful meal and venue for a special dinner with friends/family from out of province.
