Wonderful atmosphere and delicious meal! Great for a special occasion.
Superb meal, creative and delicious. And a terrific view!
The tasting menu with the wine pairings was amazing. Would highly recommend.
When you are greeted by the owner by your name is priceless! I
I reserved this special evening for my hubby’s birthday, we were traveling from Chicago, and I read great reviews from this place.
Food was superb, as well as the service with Jason! And thec Rest orge Staff!
Wren you are in Vancouver you don’t want to miss that amazing restaurant!
Very good tasting menu with wine pairings. Main cource with veal and lobster was terrfic.
Fantastic food and service! Highly recommend
My mom hate western food, and she enjoyed her dining so much. She said the scallops were fresh and tasty, the sea bass was done perfect. She also like the souffle as her dessert. I highly recommend to anyone that like freshness, fine dining and nice view.
We choose the Five Sails based on the view but will come back for the creative cuisine and service.
All meals were outstanding and provided a conversation starter. The plates were artistic and the service was discreet. Overall we had an evening that was memorable and we are already planning a return. Thank you to all at the Five Sails who go above and beyond to ensure their patrons are treated as valued guests.
The service was excellent. From host to server to buss boy all were very polite and helpful. The food was excellent. I will return shortly. It was my first visit but would not be last. I recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly.
The quality and presentation of the food was very good. The ambiance of the restaurant is matched by the water views.
Outstanding food and great service. The Halibut, sea bass and lobster were the dishes our party of 6 had...all were fantastic.
This was the best meal we’ve had during our two week road trip around BC. The food was incredible, the service first rate & the setting is wonderful with great views across the harbour to Grouse Mountain. Highly recommended
The food was so delicious (and beautiful to look at) and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The view over Coal Harbor is beautiful. It was a great dinner for our first night while visiting Vancouver!
Excellent food and a beautiful view. We were well looked after. Nice way to spend a special occasion.
Excellent service, food and presentations.
Had a chance to try sea bass, duck ,halibut , sablefish. All excellent. Foi gras and desserts excellent. They care about not only what they serve, but how they serve it. Enjoy!
Without a doubt, the best restraunt meal we’ve ever had. At $100 per person for the chef’s “tasting menu”, and another $50 for the wine pairing, it was an expensive evening, but well worth trying.
Nice facilities, and they aim to please. Lovely reception and great service through amuse bouche. I ordered two appetizers (along with a main) and they were served at the same. Request for additional butter went unanswered, even while asked several times about additional bread.
The appetizers were good, if one became cool. The foie gras was wonderfully prepared and served. The taste was perfection.
The mains took 45 mins. Oddly, the halibut was almost cold, while the potatoes were cold on top, and very hot under the fish. The veal was excellent.
I disagree with the belief that one shouldn’t score an establishment poorly, if they haven’t been given a chance to correct the issue. Sorry, you get one chance to get it right. That’s what the expediter is for. If I have time to allow a retry, that’s my choice. Failure to explain the 45 min delay flushed that opportunity. The service and food was more consistent at Oceans 999, for half the price.
Simply spectacular service and exceptional food in a well appointed restaurant with magnificent views! Could not have asked for a better restaurant experience.
Amazing food and service. We loved the view and enjoyed watching the sea planes take off and land.
The view, ambience, and food was amazing and I was really glad that I chose Five Sails for our Canada Day celebration dinner. The "Silly Goose" was so good and the Halibut was amazing. My friends really enjoyed the dinner as well. Thank you.
It was an awesome experience for our 45th anniversary
We booked very late in the day but thoroughly enjoyed over meal. The menu was very challenging but the food was delicious and the view was amazing. For a special occasion or just to feel good, go to the Five Sails, you will not forget it!
Top level is described as ‘energetic’ ... for us it was SO LOUD we couldn’t hear one another across the table... FRUSTRATING SINCE WE WERE WITH South Africans and we could barely hear one another! NOT GOOD
wine list seemed a bit high priced, but otherwise exemplary, fine dining, fabulous flavours and presentations, would happily recommend
Visiting Vancouver from out of town, during our anniversary, I needed a place to take my wife for dinner. I wanted great food, not too noisy, and a nice view of the harbor. This was perfect! We were fortunate enough to get a window table. We witnessed a bald eagle swoop down to catch a fish. Amazing sight! The food was elegantly prepared. The portion sized smaller than many restaurants, but made up for with quality taste. Saved room for dessert, which we normally don't, and so glad we did. I would highly recommend for a date night or special occasion. They treated us well, and left very satisfied with the entire experience.
food was excellent
view was amazing
service wasn't as impressive as usual - server misplaced the gift certificate we had given to her when our orders were taken. It was all resolved eventually. We also noticed other diners were given special menus ,which we were not offered ??
Traveling for vacation - definitely a highlight of our time in Vancouver.
We ordered the tasting menu for party of six people. The food, view and service were top class in Vancouver. It was really a fine dining. It is highly recommended for all kind of occasions.
Fabulous!!! We enjoyed a dinner for 8...celebrating a retirement! The service was wonderful and the food was AMAZING!! Highly recommend!!
Superb food and attentive staff with amazing views
The food was not great. It lacked seasoning. There was too much mixing of savory and sweet with the mains. The staff are fantastic!!! The views are amazing. It has potential.
There was nothing not to like about the restaurant. Amazing food, creative and waiter was
helpful . Views were beyond belief. Five Sails is a gem!!!!!
We had a fabulous meal here on 17th June.
The food was delicious and elegantly presented and the service was attentive , friendly and not overbearing.
The dining room decor is calmly restrained but with a magnificent view of the harbour.
We would definitely recommend the restaurant to visitors to Vancouver.
We love the tasting menu with wine pairings at Five Sails. The food is always exceptional, the views beautiful and the dining is elegant, quiet and very personal.
Thanks for always giving us a wonderful experience
Very good experience. We order a lamb and a sable fish，tastes great！
We celebrated our 39th anniversary at Five Sails. It was a perfect delightful evening. It was our hope to be at a window table but we had a great view and extraordinary service. It was an amazing night.
Expert service as usual and new menu items were delicious!
One of best meals we have had in years; and that is saying something as it had to compete with the view and action outside the wall of windows--of small planes taking off and landing in Vancouver Harbor.
Food was excellent. The wait staff was the best we have ever had unbelievably funny, entertaining and gave superior service
My Five stars says it all. We were extremely impressed. The entire experience was exceptional.
If you visit Vancouver, enjoy a meal here.
