Five Roses Pub
Menu seemed different. Music was too loud and even quiet area had loud music. Ordered Fish and Chips. Fish was good but fries could have been crisper. Only one fish fillet for $18. Not worth the price, I thought.
Among the best options in the weirdly artificial Rosemont / Fashion Outlet "town square" near O'Hare Airport, right by the teeming Interstate. There's a good beer list and standard Irish specialties. Note that the brunch menu on the website is available only on Sundays.
Our service was pretty bad. Waiter was completely out of it, taking and bringing our drink orders one by one. One person in the group of 4 ordered flatbread as their meal but it came as an appetizer. Waiter said kitchen is working on bringing out the rest, which ended up taking 20 minutes. At that time someone else’s order was incorrect, so that took more time. The restaurant was quite empty at this time, so no good reason for delay. The wait staff were more interested in huddling around each other to talk than servicing their tables correctly. Food was just ok - nothing spectacular or worth the price. Fries were even burnt. Can’t say I’m planning to visit again.
Five Roses was a convenient place to meet relatives who were heading out of town the next day. The food was the usual pub food. Was happy to see several vegetarian options. The portobello sandwich was very garlicky and the sweet potato fries, mushy and really salty. My husband didn't love his fish & chips so I think the kitchen needs to work on its fryer skills. The service was friendly and fantastic.
My husband and I went in for a date night and we were not disappointed! Mickey was our server and she was so friendly and funny and checked on us to make sure we were always doing ok. The food was AMAZING and the live music was definitely a surprising plus! Can't wait to go back!
Enjoyed the food, but the music was way to loud that a conversation couldn’t be had
Great service and good happy hour specials.
Nice warm atmosphere inside and with the doors open to the outside it was really pleasant. We could see the planes landing at O'Hare but look the other way and you felt you were in a cozy Irish pub. Good service and food.
Took 30 minutes to get two sandwiches and then they were cold. Took a long time to get the check too. Sadly, we won't be back.
Outdoor area was so relaxing and enjoyable. Good and service we're great. Highly recommend.
We been to Five Roses in the past and it has been a good experience but after last night I don't think I will be back. We came in at 9:30pm after watching a movie and the place looked pretty empty, we were greeted by the security guard asking for IDs but no hostess. I ask if there was a hostess and he said that she would be right back. We waited for 5 minutes to be seated and no one came. We decided to leave and find another place to have dinner.
Great night out with friends. Good food, good beverages!
It was a touch loud with the live music, but we were put in back where it was quiet enough to have a conversation. The food as solid, and the back table was very kid friendly for our 18 month old. Thanks, we would go again
We both had fish and chips and agreed that the fish was some of the best we had ever had. Our server while pleasant, was MIA for most of our meal and we had to flag down other servers for additional cocktails and to get our bill. Nevertheless, I would try it again.
Dinner with friends; Five Roses has Great food, prompt service and live music!
We went to Five Roses for St. Patrick's Day. Disappointingly, by 7 pm they ran out of corned beef and cabbage, which is what my father-in-law had been planning to order. Fish tacos (mine) were mediocre. The Irish nachos and the fried calamari were very good. Will give them another try. Assume maybe things just got a little out of wack due to the big crowd (although that should have been expected on March 17th, at an Irish pub).
Was ok, but slowly service.
Food quality was a farce. Google Olde Blinde Dog Milton, Ga for how it should be. “Tenderloin tips” is false advertising. Sirloin is Sirloin. Tenderloin come from a completely different part of the cow. Wish I had ordered Bangers and Mash to see if Irish fare was acceptable. Salmon was cold and undercooked...really cold and undercooked!
Full of fun and people. Awesome service and thanks to open table we got in to eat in 5 minutes.
The food was terrific. I had the spring rolls (corned beef!) and chicken pot pie and both were good. Drinks were fine and the waitress was very friendly. We were celebrating a birthday and just hanging out to talk and we were given privacy and hours at the table with no feeling of being rushed. Now if only GPS could find it more easily ......
We were in the Rosemont area for a business retreat, we do this every year and always enjoy dinner at 5 Roses Pub. Nigel is a great waiter with a good sense of humor! The live music on Saturday night was awesome, so we give a special shout out to Johnny - what a great time!
Our food was excellent and our server was awesome! He was very attentive and gave great recommendations for menu choices.
Waitress was outstanding. Lights were really dark and annoying, changing color every few minutes.
The restaurant is fine if it's for clubbing. But it's 6:30 p.m. dinner it just was way too loud in the place. I was sitting exactly next to my companion and I could not hear a word she was saying. The food I ordered an appetizer of Irish nachos and while it did describe that it had peppers in it that were hot the peppers were excruciating Lee Hot even the liquid from the peppers on to the fries were almost edible
Quite Monday. Service was average, food was bar food. Mixed drinks were okay for the price. Overall, just an average place in the entertainment district of Rosemont, IL.
GREAT SERVICE ,LIVE MUSIC AND FOOD
LOVE THIS PLACE
PLACE ITSELF IS VERY ELEGANT AND COZY AT THE SAME TIME
We had a 5pm reservation and were seated immediately upon our arrival. After 15 minutes of being completely ignored, we left and went across the courtyard to another restaurant where we had a wonderful time. I would recommend Five Roses to no one for any reason. If you can't even get a drink in an Irish pub, what is the point?
If you are looking for a restaurant to have a quiet conversation between friends on a Saturday night, this is NOT the restaurant for you.
There are three separate areas to this establishment which is a perfect set up to have at least one quiet area in the back.
The Cobb salad was perfect; crisp and crunchy and refreshing. The fish for the fish and chips were over battered.
The cold food came out cold and the hot food came out hot. The wait staff was pleasant and professional.
We had a great time Saturday at Five Roses. Our waiter, Ty, was super friendly and helpful and the live music by Peter was so much fun! He sang great music and really had a good voice. We sat up front but it still wasn't too loud to have a conversation We all really enjoyed our food. I hope we make it back soon and Peter is playing again!
We made a reservation at Five Roses for a girls' night out, and they had no heat. They contacted me by phone 20 min prior to reservation (which I didn't answer, because I was driving), to let me know. The people I was meeting arrived, they let them in, and then put them in a corner and locked the door. They were the only people there, and they didn't intend to let anyone else in, because.... there was no heat.
So-- we didn't want to eat there because a) it was 5 degrees out and b) we didn't want a sneeze burger because the staff was mad at working in a cold restaurant.
The whole experience was weird, and communication wasn't great. I will try Five Roses again; I've been there in the summer, and it's a fun place to eat. I also didn't get my points from OpenTable for some reason... I'm guessing because my reservation wasn't "fulfilled". Awesome. Luckily, it's in a big complex of restaurants, so we just went to another place.
Celebrating a birthday
I was very excited to go to Five Rose's on Saturday night, never been there. We were seated by a nice young lady. It was only 6 pm, so the crowd was still pretty light. The wife and I sat down to review the menu and order a drink. Then 1, 2, 3, and 4 waitress walked by and not a word was spoken. We sat there for over 10 minutes waiting to order a drink, still no waitress. So after 12 minutes we got up and left. We were rather disappointed!
Nice restaurant with live music. We had A reservation and were seated right away. Appetizers were good, but we think that the server forgot to order our dinner. We had empty beer glasses most of the time we were there, and while we were finishing up our appetizers she brought us the check without us receiving our dinner. We decided we had been sitting there long enough, paid for our appetizers and drink (no offer to make up for the forgotten dinner), and headed over to Hofbrauhaus instead. The server’s excuse was that she didn’t know they didn’t bring us dinner. We think she forgot to put it in.
Good food good service. NOISY table behind us then as more people entered it got really hard to hold a conversation.
Reservations we're ready, requested to be in bar area to see the entertainment, had perfect seats. Great waiter never let us go empty.
We we're there for lunch on a Thursday and it was fairly empty. So it wasn't a very lively bar experience
Was getting together with friends and had a great time at Five Roses. Food was perfect pub food; I had a tasty corned beef sandwich with Kerry gold cheddar that was killer. Our waitress was attentive without hovering. We sat inside but with the doors open on a beautiful fall day we enjoyed the outdoors as well.
This was a random choice for dinner before going to a concert in the area and we couldn't have been happier. Tasty food, good selection, fast service. The meal was better than the concert! Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed the appetizers! The service was great. Went for an informal business dinner. Perfect spot.
The food is not great. They used to have a different menu that was much better.
