Everything we ordered was very tasty (especially the calamari and the chicken piccata). It was very busy, but the noise level was still reasonable. Nice service too. We'll definitely be back.
Noise level is a bit too loud but the food is awesome! Will come back to try their great list of wine choices
Everything was excellent. The only negative I would say is that the prices were more than we expected - considering the portions were a lot smaller than expected. We came as a group of 8, and left comfortable, but not full. So, keep that in mind.
Five has turned into the "go to" restaurant for us. Service and food are always great. The environment is nice and when the weather allows the outdoor seating is great.
Waitress was inattentive. I had to call her over several times. Very loud atmosphere.
We have been dining here for some years and love it.
We love this place, located conveniently around the corner from our home. Great food at a good value. Several of us ordered the trout special, and it was beautifully done. We dine here often for lunch and dinner. What a great addition to our neighborhood!
Pizza was a bit soggy on the bottom. Would have loved a crisper crust. Flavor excellent
The outdoor dining area was relaxing and the music selection was spot on. We enjoyed the Rigatoni and the shrimp pizza special and along with the great service it made for a perfect dinner.
The food was very good. I ordered mussels and they were cooked perfectly. The pizzas are also excellent, nice thin crust. Beet salad was very good with good presentation.
Pizza, salad, appetizers and drinks with friends.....awesome as always!
Great service and a varied menu. Outdoor patio is lovely and welcoming. The food was excellent. We had a big group and they did a great job with us... will definitely return.
I must say that all of their salads are great!
My husband and I had pizzas on this visit and I would describe them as"just okay". Toppings were sparse and the sauce was minimal. Overall, the pizzas were pretty dry. Mine was the shrimp diablo pizza and there were just a few of what looked like tiny pieces of bay shrimp. I think if the base sauce and toppings were more plentiful, the pizzas would be better.
Thank you for allowing me to comment.
Eat here often. Food is always good. Service was excellent. David was an outstanding server and took great care of us.
We go here repeatedly because we love the environment, the patio, the food, the service, and the relative value. The same servers have worked here a while, which always suggest to me that they like what they do.
They have a staple of entrees that they continue to do well with a special or fresh sheet that rotates.
The flatbread pizzas are awesome and often hit the spot when we just want something simple.
The Ceasar is alwayd good and full of garlic and the carne asada remains my fave here. NOTE: carne asada pizza is not always on the menu, but they'll make it if you ask and it is the BEST!
Shout out to Karen who was our server on Friday. She was great. And Elke the hostess is always so inviting.
We love that they now take reservations on Open Table! A very welcome change.
Fun atmosphere and excellent service. Very good food.
Girls Birthday lunch. Very fun Really enjoyed our server.
Still a great neighborhood spot. Good deal for kids. Prices are a little on the higher side for entrees, but they are generally very good. The majority of the servers are quite good. We've had one young man a few times who wasn't really in the game, on the other hand, that we could do without. Highly recommend the mussels and clams. Excellent sauce.
We loved our server Connor! Fantastic on every level. Also appreciated the warm and professional service from Sydney, helping on the patio the night we dined.
Our server was incredible! I’d come back again just for the service alone.
But...the scallops were way too cheesy and hidden in too much sauce. How about a nice sauté? Felt a little chintzy with the tiny scallops and huge amount of sauce.
The tuna tartare had maybe a tablespoon of tuna on top of tower of veggies.
We had an $8 salad that had nothing on it but a very tarte vinaigrette and a few shavings of Parmesan cheese.
The oysters were great, though.
The bread was cheap French bread...baguette with a thick crust would have been delightful.
I hate to be so negative, but I was surprised by the cheapness of the food.
The bartender made the BEST vodka gimlet I’ve ever had, though. He was amazing.
This is a great place if you catch the happy hour menu (lovely ambience, friendly staff, good food). For regular dining menu we felt the portions came up short and weren’t that great quality considering the price ($28-30). As a friendly advice to the chef because we loved te experience during happy hour and would love to go back, I’d say it would be nice if they added a bit more substance to the side dishes so you don’t feel you are leaving hungry after paying $90 for two adults and one kid (with no booze or desert).
Food and Wine was good.
I happened upon this restaurant in a Yelp search and was drawn in by the reviews, pictures and menu. For a Sunday afternoon it was easy to get a reservation for 3 at 6pm. When we arrived, the outdoor seating was full so rather than wait the 30 minutes quoted we took a seat inside. The table we were directed to was two tables pushed together, one of which was wobbly. It took two different people on staff to fix it, rather than just move us to another of the many open tables (really?). Overall the service was really slow and inattentive. It was nearly 15 minutes after being seated that we finally asked someone to please request our server stop by. Most of the staff came across as not well trained. Our server didn't know the name of the only Rose on the menu, which it turned out there were 5 bottles of it on a shelf directly behind us in her direct line of sight. I still ordered a glass, which was refreshing, with flavors of stone fruit.
The saving (mostly) grace was the food. The Baked goat cheese rolled in toasted pistachios, fig calamata olive tapenade, crostini starter was excellent. We order two large pizzas and a salad. One pizza had pancetta that was excellent. The second was the Bartlett pears, gorgonzola, toasted pine nuts on dill pesto. It was just okay. None of the flavors really popped. The whole thing just seemed mushy with all of the moisture from the pears. The pizza crust was pretty delicious overall. A good mix of savory and sweet. The salad, Chopped salami, provolone, garbanzo, tomato, red onions, creamy tarragon vinaigrette, by the ingredients looked appealing, but again was just okay. I mentioned to my other diners that the meal seemed rather salty, to which both agreed.
I think I'll eventually go back to see about happy hour and more pizza. At least the bar staff seemed attentive.
The waiter was very attentive, and seemed to know when we needed something -- even refilling our wine/water glasses. The food was quite good and some dishes allowed you to specify the degree of heat in the dish. Had the goat cheese appetizer -- very good, and the scallops which came covered in a baked cheese.
Form the bartender service when we first walked in, to the end of the meal, everything was great. We were a party of 8 which can get a bit challenging but service was good and food came in a good amount of time. Will definitely be going back.
Loved the place, the food & the people!
We eat here about once each month. As always the food and service are excellent. Our only negative is the fact that the restaurant tends to be noisy. It is sometimes difficult to have a conversation because of the noise level. For that reason we try to eat outside in season.
Service was extremely slow (sitting for over 30 minutes before they even came to take our order), but the food was very good.
As always, our experience at FIVE was outstanding—from service and ambience to drinks and food.
The service and food is always spot on
Always excellent food and wine. Service was great.
I had the turkey sandwich and thought it to be quite dry.....a side of some kind of a dressing would be nice. Also, save the tomato ends for salsa or bruschetta, and the center slices for sandwiches.
I like ice with my water.....this should be offered.
We love our waitress and the food is amazing!
The food was excellent. The noise level is high. The table we were seated at was less than desirable. It was in the middle of a passing area. So wait staff and customers were constantly walking past on both sides. One had to be careful with ones elbows when cutting food because one might collide elbow with a tray of drinks or food. Not sure why this table was located where it was other than the desire to have one more place for a paying customer. At first we were decided we were not going to ever return to this restaurant but the pizza is probably one of the best I have ever had and so we will go back but definitely refuse the difficult table.
Always perfect—food, atmosphere, service. Great local spot. We had the thick and delicious filet mignon which was prepared perfectly. Love Five!
Very impressed with the preparation of the food. Our waitress was friendly and efficient.
Randy was our server and she was funny and engaging. I liked how all the staff checked the table to remove plates, refill soda and water, and just to make sure we were okay. Food was excellent!
The food was definitely decent but service was slow, understandably because of inadequate staffing which they did explain to us. Most likely would return at a less busy time of day.
Great dinner with friendly service. We’ll be back
Our service was a bit lacking, I think because he was very busy at the time, but he was supposed to bring some condiments to the table and never did. The food was good. The kid's menu is a deal, but otherwise the prices are a little high.
