Five O'Clock Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Had a fabulous meal! My family and I love supper clubs and this one is just wonderful! A true supper club with having a cocktail/ordering at the bar to snacking on a classic relish tray at your table. The food was phenomenal as well as the service! What a special evening.
We always get a great steak and good value. Matter in fact the best steak ever.
This is not for people that a problem with some background noise and a light wallet. But think about it, you get what you pay for.
My wife and I have traveled extensively in the US and abroad and we still have not found a better place for a steak.
Best steak in Milwaukee for years! You definitely need a reservation here, and prepare for it to be very busy in the evening especially during the weekend, but it is worth it if you are a steak lover. The place is very loud as well, so if you are looking for a quiet conversation, this isn't your place. I have been many times and have never been disappointed.
HORRIBLE! I was so excited to try 5 o'clock Steakhouse and chose it as my birthday dinner last Friday, February 9th. We had reservations at 7, and had a decently pleasant experience until we got our steaks. When the menu was explained to us, we were told something to the effect of how the steaks are charred at 1600 degrees to lock in the flavor. We ordered a King filet and a ribeye. Our steaks arrived as we were still eating our salad, so it felt a bit rushed, and the filet was BLACK. I thought my husband was exaggerating as I watched him try to cut 1/4 inch of charred steak from every side of his filet....until I tried a piece. LITERALLY LIKE CHEWING ON A PIECE OF GRITTY CHARCOAL. We watched other steaks coming out to other tables and they appeared just as black, so we thought that maybe this is just how they prepare their steaks so we didn't want to complain. Also, the ribeye was not much better - not exactly charred, but super chewy and fatty - but not the good, melt-in-your-mouth type ribeye fat. We chalked it up to this restaurant just not being a good fit for us. A $200 HUGE MISTAKE! For redemption of that birthday dinner, we decided to try Flemmings - a chain, yes, but what an amazing experience! Night and day to 5 o'clock Steakhouse. We had PERFECTLY cooked filets and not once did we feel rushed. I wasn't going to leave any sort of review, until realizing last night how bad our experience was with 5 o'clock Steakhouse. I also finally took a look at their website, only to find pictures of perfectly cooked filets. So disappointed that we didn't say something last week when we were there.
April was our waitress and she was great! This was our 1st time and she explained how everything works. Pretty expensive so it will have to be a pretty special occasion for us. That being said, my bone in rib eye was the best I've ever had and cooked just how I like it. I asked for a little less char on it and it was perfect. Wife really enjoyed her shrimp scampi, also. Both of us have left overs to enjoy. It was a bit loud so don't expect an intimate conversation. It was also nice to take advantage of the vallet service. It would have been hard to find a place on the street to park on a very cold snowy night. As far as attire goes, we saw everything from slacks and sport coats to jeans and sweatshirts. All and all a nice night!
We were celebrating a birthday dinner with our daughter and son in law. Enjoyed the pre-dinner drink at the bar. The bartender was great, very efficient, and our server was lovely. We all ordered steak and they were delicious and cooked perfectly. One of us also had shrimp with dinner. The biggest shrimp I've ever seen coated with this fantastic batter!
It's been a few years since I've been to Five O'Clock Steakhouse (and lovingly known to me as "Coerpers" ) and nothing has changed! And by nothing, I mean that in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY. The steaks are as fantastic, as ever! Our group had a filet, porterhouse or NY Strip...and everyone loved their steak. The full-rack rib appetizer was as good as there is in the City, too. I look forward to coming back in the near future.
It was my first time there and I would never go back. I ordered my tenderloin medium and it was served rare. I cut it and then set my dish to the side. I person with the server, who never introduced himself, asked what was wrong. I said I ordered it medium. The server brought it back to the table And he didn’t return until we were done with our food. I was very disappointed with the service, however the food was delicious.
To me, there is no better place to eat a steak than the Five O'Clock Steakhouse. Once you taste that perfectly prepared steak, cooked exactly to temp and char-broiled in an 1800 degree oven for the perfect mixture of texture inside and out, you can't go back. Their au jus is delicious. The homemade salad dressing is amazing. The bread is a rockstar. And this is just the food. Classic supper club ambiance, attentive and soulful wait staff, and great bartenders. It's an experience to behold. One tip, if you're going to order the filet, get the King's cut. 8oz more for only $10? Yes please!
Steak was so charred it wasn’t good unless you cut out the center . The lobster tasted like ammonia and when googling it , it said the meat was bad and lobster was dead long before cooking or freezing . The place was very nice and I think it was just a bad night for them and our meal but I do want to give them another chance . Very expensive bad meal ..
