Food is always amazing! Hands down best brunch in Boston!
All six of us enjoyed our Saturday afternoon meal. There were options that appealed to each of us. Brunch and lunch menus were both available. I would go again and would recommend.
The service could’ve been better. They refused to give me the seat I requested. The food also didn’t taste as good as their other location.
Yes for casual drinks and apps, and to hang with friends, but I wouldn't advocate for entrees. We were surprised - food looked great, but was mediocre or bland.
The food was great and our server was really friendly! A little expensive for what you get but we will definitely go back for a special brunch.
Food was fantastic, servers were friendly and responsive - this place is a top favorite to visit for celebrations!
Service was friendly but inconsistent - sometimes attentive other times ignored. And main meal came nearly immediately after the appetizer, which is a pet peeve.
Went for an early brunch on Sunday (1/12). Very attentive service by Fallon - my soda was flat and not only did he quickly address it with the manager, but also offered alternatives. A small thing, but showed how much he wanted to make sure I was happy. We come here often and the food is always on point. My boyfriend loves the chimichanga!
It took at least 15 minutes for our server to offer to get our party drinks.
Enjoyed holiday lunch with a friend. The restaurant was pretty quiet. Really enjoyed the food and the cocktails. We had burgers and drinks, and chocolate cupcakes for dessert.
We’ve been coming here since 2014 for our pre-Holiday Pops meal. One food allergy in the party and she is always well-taken care of. Menu has changed over the years but our fave drunken wings and cornbread remain. Tap list is fantastic. Service is always awesome but this year was beyond. If I had a third arm I’d give it three thumbs up.
Great visit - came for holiday get together with colleagues. Would recommend
Love coming here and the drinks are always good. Burger was way undercooked and service was a little spotty, but will definitely be back.
Everything was fine w/the exception that one of the four meals arrived almost 15 mins later than the other 3. Not good.
Great restaurant. We had dinner here with our children after seeing The Pops. No children’s menu, but enough on the menu for them to choose from. They were also very food allergy friendly. One of our daughters has an egg allergy, which makes eating out difficult. Delicious meal!
Very crowded and noisy. Food service was extremely slow. One of our party didn’t get her order until everyone else had finished. One order came out wrong and when we said something the server told us we were wrong. Food quality was average. Ordered the tuna tacos and they came out way overdone and ice cold. Overall just not a great experience.
Good burgers and lots to choose from on draft. Great place to watch the Pat's games.
Everything was very good except it was too noisy. We understand it is a tavern, but if we were there with a group we wouldn't be able to talk. There was another room that seemed quieter, so if we go back (and we very well may), we will ask to be seated there.
It was fine, the food for dinner is way better. Still very expensive restaurant for very regular food.
Great brunch. Delicious food and outstanding service. Gotta love the mimosa flights,
OK for lunch or drinks but not really up to a pre- concert dinner with friends. Especially if you want to be able to have a conversation while you eat your unexciting dinner.
Our party came in on a slow weeknight. The bar was barely half full and it took over 20 minutes to get two beers and one cocktail. The pretzel came with grocery-store quality mustard and a congealed gross cheese mix. The fish and chips weren’t seasoned or even salted. The salt and vinegar chips had no salt nor vinegar. They were dry burnt potatoes. My husband had a oily pizza without any seasoning or even a hint of salt. The service was just okay. I would have been significantly more understanding if the place was packed but it was barely half full. We won’t be back.
Love the food but no need for loud music on Sunday am. 4th or 5th time here and always fir lunch but never before was music so loud and annoying. Asked to have it turned down but did not happen. . Lots of brunch options and will miss the fried chicken but prefer quieter for Sunday mornings.
We had a delicious dinner and the cocktails were fabulous as well and everyone that worked there couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful
Food just wasn’t great.
Ordered pancakes and tavern breakfast with pork belly.
Pancakes were ok, but they only came with a cup of maple syrup and a scoop of flavoured cream. Also, I would like them thicker and more fluffy.
Tavern breakfast came with a dry sourdough toast ( thing with toasting sourdough is that it has to be thick, as otherwise it comes out dry and hard) a version of roast potatoes and the highlight of the dish, two poached eggs that were good.
Just not good enough for us to go back.
Best corn bread we’ve ever eaten! Great atmosphere, excellent food and terrific service!
The Drunken Wings are THE BEST
I really wanted to like Five Horses as all of the staff were so nice - but the food was not good at all. When my hangar steak came cooked medium well instead of medium rare, the manager quickly took care of it and was very apologetic. But it still wasn't very flavorful; nor was the broccoli rabe that came with it. My husband's southern fried chicken was also not very good. We won't be going back.
Our server was so wonderful! We came here for my dad’s birthday, and everything was perfect—from the food, to the service, to the very extensive beer list. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Great place to meet up with friends. Ample bar are up front and separate dining area in the rear. Broad enough menu to suit all tastes.
Can’t keep a reservation. Made us sit at them bar.
Very good potatoes and french toast. Expensive drinks for being only slightly better than average. Fast Service. Go there at 10:30 to have your pick of seating, as it starts filling up around 11.
This was our second attempt lured back by a gift card sent by Five Horses in order to redeem themselves for our first less than stellar meal. Thank you, it worked! There was a learning curve involved, and once that was mastered our experience was much better. For example, medium rare means medium well and “tomato preserves” is code for a smear of watery ketchup. So this time an honored request for a rare burger with extra pickles and mayonnaise, and no tomato preserves allowed for a tasty burger. Kudos to the waitstaff, who was very sincerely patient with our questions and needs. The side of the ubiquitous squash medley vegetable offer was surprisingly well cooked and really good! Other members of our party got the power bowl, it was pretty good despite the nearly flavorless tofu. Other things on the menu looked interesting, and now that we have learned how to order, we will probably be back. Thanks again!
Great neighborhood bar and restaurant.
Went there specifically for the burger and it was overcooked, there was a small squirt of what looked like cheese wiz and the tomatoe-ish sauce was scarce and a poor substitute for a real tomato. Asked multiple times for mayo before it came. On a positive note, the tots were cooked perfectly.
Menu is quite limited.
We had a great time here - mostly “younger clientele’ but the staff was extraordinarily nice!! They made our time fabulous- would highly recommend it!!
Two out of three meals were good, the third was not very flavorful and the fish did not seem fresh. Our waiter was mediocre.
Brunch was absolutely outstanding!
Great place in super neighborhood! Try the Brussels sprouts! Sitting outside on a warm fall day was the best!
