Our mission is to serve modern American comfort food, incorporating locally sourced ingredients, with many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Our friendly staff will make a memorable experience whether you join us for lunch, dinner or our highly acclaimed weekend brunch.

We are a fantastic venue for hosting large groups and intimate dinners. Our Bar offers a wide variety of craft beers from around the world, boasting 37 draft beers, 120 bottles, signature cocktails and a thoughtfully selected wine list.

    The management was outstanding. We had made a reservation for 4 people on a very busy Saturday night. My husband and I were meeting my daughter and her boyfriend for dinner. We arrived before them and they were finding a parking spot when I received a call from my daughter that her boyfriend just received a call that his grandfather died. We were all shocked including my husband and I. We told the hostess about our situation and they were very understanding and actually sent us free appetizer. While we didn't really feel like eating after the news the management was extremely caring. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Been coming to this restaurant for over two years.I never had a bad experience before hand.But due to this experience.I can say I will never return.they had a mishap with my order,which wasn’t a big deal.I got it cleared up with my waitress.but the manager working on this night was extremely rude.and makes me never want to go back or ever recommend this place to anyone else.

    Four of us went to dinner at Five Horses Tavern on Thanksgiving! We were able to order Thanksgiving dinners as well as other options. I loved the sweet potato tacos. Great experience!

    This was my first time dining at Five Horses in over a year, and the quality was unfortunately not what I remembered. The cornbread was cold and dry, the omelet was very greasy and the prices have only increased. I chose this restaurant for their brunch menu, but the experience did not live up to the pricing. I probably won’t be back anytime soon.

    Five Horses Tavern offers good comfort food and drink at reasonable prices in a fun, energetic atmosphere perfect for an evening out with good friends. We enjoyed mouth watering burgers and specialty tacos. Nachos and Tater Tots are each a must. And finding parking on a busy Friday night in Davis Square was a lot easier than expected. I highly recommend it.

    Brunch was a bustling time to be there. Food was good. Server was great! I do highly recommend the Bloody Mary with all that fresh horseradish!

    Five Horses is always great. This was the first time we have been back since having our first child and they were very helpful with stroller placement and making sure we got hot water quickly to warm her bottle. As always the food and drinks were amazing.

    We had a large booth near the front for 4 of us and a child, very comfortable. We liked the tacos, mac&cheese, and of course, the tater tots. Great atmosphere with the windows open and warm enough for outside dining.

    Absolutely fantastic brunch and service. We had the donut holes (amazing) plus the burger, omlette, and chicken/waffles. All were super delicious. The noise levels were great and we can't wait to come back for another meal at 5 horses soon!

    Everything was great except for the mouse that was doing laps around the dining room. The customers were shooting each other looks and the wait staff were clearly not surprised although they apologized.

    Devin was a great server. The food was fine. Excellent chicken and waffles. Veggie hash not so much. Terrific Bourbon Bloody. Will definitely be back.

    The brie app needs more break to come with it and perhaps the brie could be baked longer. It was just kind of warmed up. The skillet cookie was undercooked. Gooey is great, but it was pretty raw. That said, everything was still tasty!

    We’ve been to Five Horses Tavern in the past and it’s always enjoyable. The food on the menu is delicious and isn’t your typical tavern fare. They offer a range of seafood, veggie and meat options which is great when your party has different tastes. The only reason 1 star was taken away was for prices since I don’t remember a 6 oz glass of wine to be $13 and small appetizer plate to be $14. I usually see these prices at more upscale restaurants. I think having lower cost appetizers and drink options would make more customers happy.

    We love 5 Horses for dine-in or take out. The staff are great, the food delicious & the selection of beers/cocktails is huge! It has a neighborhood joint welcoming vibe.

    Went here for brunch with my husband and our friend delicious food and wonderful service my friend and I both had the tavern breakfast with scrambled eggs home fries and fruit delicious, My husband go to brunch dish is the southern comfort with fried chicken grave and fried egg he loves this dish

    At first when we arrived the hostess asked if we wanted a high top when I said no she looked and my her floor set up and said no we couldn’t have a regular table bc they all had reservations. Well, what was my open table reservation?!! She got us a table upstairs and we all was fine after that. The meals were large and filling. The sangrias were nice and refreshing. Thankfully it became a nice Father’s Day brunch.

    Menu is limited for the most part, but the available items were fine. Staff was friendly enough. Noise level was pretty high. I’ve heard the tacos are good, although 8 dollars for a single taco is steep.

    The food is out-of-this-world-good. It's a bit noisy but all we want to talk about is how good the food is so not a great loss. Servers range from Excellent to Average but never Awful.

    Hoped for much better for a place so well reviewed. Everyone at our table needed to request condiments since the food was so under seasoned. The pea diddy salad was not only bland but also incredibly overpriced...or let's say the 5 Horses made a tidy profit on half a $3 bag of mesclun. Won't be returning. Next time in Davis Square, I'd be happier with take out on a park bench from almost anywhere else.

    We went for mother's Day, had a reservation and was seated promptly. All the staff was great, the menu choices were varied and inventive. My daughter had the mimosa flight which she loved. My husband thought the breakfast pizza was excellent, and I had a traditional breakfast that was very good. highly recommend this restaurant!!

    We made a last-minute reservation to take out some family members, and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was. The atmosphere has great energy. We got a really great booth in the middle and it was perfect. I can’t say enough nice things. the wait staff is fantastic and the food was genuinely excellent. definitely stop by, you won’t be disappointed.

    The French Toast Chicken Sammy is incredible. I wish the breakfast potatoes were a bit crispier but the coffee was good and the service was great.
