My husband and I went for brunch delicious food I had fried chicken sandwich which was delicious and crispy as well as moist , my handsome had the southern comfort which had fried chicken , brisket and fired egg on top with grave he said that was good but gravely was a bit spicy but over all a good dish five horses has delicious brunch
The food was delicious, our waitress Natalie was so friendly, and overall it was a great experience. We'll be back for sure!
Usually a good experience eating at Five Horses Tavern, but this time we had the worst service I have experienced in a very long time. Waitress was more interested in socializing with her colleagues than attending to diners. We had to ask for water several times, she misunderstood the order that was put in (was only two of us), and we repeatedly asked for basics, such as silverware and napkins. She seemed young and completely inexperienced. The poor service negatively affected the overall experience.
Our server was awesome. Food excellent! Can't wait to try the beer.
Fantastic fish tacos and wonderful / friendly service. Will be coming back !
Great patio seating, away from the sidewalk so that pedestrians aren't breathing over your food. Server stayed far away. Some loud cars passing by here and there, but to be expected. Great Sunday menu accommodating both brunch and lunch.
Five Horses has good food, a really fantastic beer selection, and a good vibe. The service staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and just cool. They usually have good specials, so don't forget to ask/look for those. The shakshuka is my favorite, with green curry or the power bowl as close second choices if I want something a little healthier or vegetable-heavy. You can't go wrong with the friend chicken or mac 'n' cheese options here either. There is something for everyone.
Sat outdoors, great service, excellent beer list
My handsome husband and I came to five horses for brunch the Service was excellent and our waiter was very nice I had the Mac and cheese it was delicious , my husband had the Nutella Belgian waffle it had strawberries and homemade whip cream with Nutella on it to it was also delicious I highly recommend five horses for brunch
Went for brunch for the first time. The food was absolutely outstanding. I moved up here from Nashville, TN and thus ordered the Southern Breakfast (Biscuits, Sausage Gravy, Fried Chicken and Eggs) and it was incredible. By far, the best meal that I have had out since moving to Boston a year ago. I will be back.
The food is always reliably good at Five Horses. I can say I have been there for brunch and dinner, as well as drinks and snacks. They never disappoint.
Never disappoints! Food, drinks, and atmosphere is everything you can ask for!
Outstanding meal. Wings and cornbread were both exceptional. Had Mac and cheese as my entree; delicious. Good service & good outdoor seating situation. Will return!
The food and service was outstanding. The tavern burger was cooked perfectly to my requests and was very delicious.
The green curry was, surprisingly, quite good. Went well with a hefeweizen.
Made reservations for inside but my friend didn't want to eat inside so they were happy to seat us (due to availability) outside. I highly recommend the chicken Sammy sandwich-they have the best rolls I have ever had!
Pricey American pub food, solid beer selection, nothing to write home about
Great setup with indoor / outdoor seating available - we had a table near the open front windows looking out onto the sidewalk and the environment was perfect. Good food and good cocktails, along with an extensive beer list. Excellent service.
Great place and been many times prior to the pandemic but seems they just haven't got their stride noe that they're back.
I am so glad five horses is back open. The food is great and the service is always fantastic!
We went there and no one was there It is not open
We made a reservation on Open Table for my friends birthday brunch and when we got there- the restaurant wasn’t even open for business. Truly disappointed
Excellent tacos, chili and beer. Great athmosphere, too.
There were four of us having Sunday brunch. Reservation process was easy and table was waiting for us. Food was delivered after a smaller-than-typical wait but that was okay because the dishes at FHT are unique and varied. The server did forget a couple one beverage and one small item but that was corrected quickly. I had the three-egg omelet with thyme biscuit which were delicious. Their bar and beer selections are excellent.
We tried some unique menu items and we were not disappointed! What a great menu to tantalize the taste buds!
Service was slow on a fairly slow night. Food was good and since it was not too crowded, the noise level was manageable - we could hear each other talk.
We were pleased with the service. The food was very good. The fried chicken was a big hit. The power bowl was very good, the only negative was when adding fried chicken it was cut up in small cubes taking away from the experience. This was unexpected and a bit disappointing. The beer drinkers in our group enjoyed the selection and those that were not were able to enjoy wine and mixed drinks. The biggest issue we had was the noise level. It was extremely loud and difficult to hear each other. We were a party of 6 and even people sitting next to you or across from you were hard to hear. All in all it was a great experience and we would go back.
Great food and nice atmosphere. If you go on the early side, a mix of families with young kids combined with larger groups.
Delicious, creative food in a lovely environment. Loud and fun!
Basic pub food. Excellent beer selection. Conversation level is loud due to acoustics. Not an intimate setting, but good for a quick-ish meal before a show at the Somerville Theatre.
Cool place, great for drinks, pub fare and general hanging out. Friendly service and great location.
They are great, always go there when friends or family are in town. Very accommodating too
Love it so much here!
Great place for a laid back dining experience.
We got there early on Saturday for brunch. Waiter was friendly but the kitchen lost our order and it took awhile to get our food. Manager offered a round of drinks or dessert. Food was delicious! Definitely will go back.
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place. We came for Valentine’s Day and loved every part of dinning here. Also we loved the waiter as well. She was amazing. Sadly I don’t remember her name but she had cute cherry earrings and short hair. Thank you ! We will for sure come back. We also let our friends know about this great place.
Mimosa flighrs are the best.
Definitely a normal spot to go to. Nothing out of the ordinary or super impressive but good. Had the street corn pizza which was a highlight and out waitress was very helpful with helping us make drink selections from their extensive menu.
Our fave go to to take our Tufts son and his friends out for dinner.
