Five Crowns is one of my favorite restaurants. We were there on Sunday evening for the delicious Lawry's prime rib dinners, plus salad and lobster bisque. They have many other choices as well, and sometimes get the Beefsteak Neptune, or the salmon, or other seasonal
specialty items. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy and the servers are expert and delightful.
I was celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with my son and his wife. We arrived early for our reservation time and they would seat us. Since it had been awhile being there, we looked at all the rooms before selecting a table and the staff were very understanding as we walked around. Our waiter Omar and the wine steward , Tommy were very attentive without being bothersome ! I brought a special mag of California Cab and was decanted and served with care !! I will look forward returning and trying the casual bar and food.
This was the first time we visited this restaurant as we only recently became locals in Newport Beach. The ambiance is wonderful, the food outstanding, and the service excellent. Of particular note were the oysters on the half shell. If you like fresh hot horseradish with your beef instead of the horseradish sauce, this is the place to get it. The prime rib was excellent and the Groth Cabernet perfect with the meal. My wife's Black Manhattan was outstanding, I have not had a Manhattan for a lot of years but will definitly indulge the next time eat dinner there which hopefully will be soon. This has become one of our "to go to" restaurants in this area.
Dinner at 5 Crowns is always a memorable experience! Exceptional ambiance, combined with high quality food and exceptional service are some of the core trademarks of this dining experience.
Consistently great food and service. Had to send my prime rib back as it was too red for medium, But it came back perfect. Our server Paula was great like always.
Always a cozy place with very nice attentive service. I didn’t love my seasonal fish, it was just ok. This place used to be a really special place to come “in the day” but in trying to redefine itself, has lost the allure. The prime rib is still really good, I wish I would have ordered that.
I’ve always wanted to go to Five Crowns so I booked it for New Year’s Eve. I was so looking forward to a special night .
The servers were very nice and helpful . The food was ok overall but my steak was tough and for the money we spent ( too much $ ) I wish we went somewhere else. They didn’t have any decorations on the tables when we arrived for a early dinner to celebrate new but added them to the next group that came in . That was disappointing !
Great dinner with friends. Go when they have the Carolers. They are amazing. Martinis are pricey at $18.00 but as expensive as the food is, it is well worth the money. We drove an hour and fifteen minutes to go to this place. Try it!!
Gregg was a fantastic server as usual. The food was perfectly prepared and our dinner very memorable.
We had not been in many many year's. Loved everything about our visit. The food was excellent. We will be back many times in the coming year!
