Outstanding from the moment we pulled into valet parking greeted as we checked in. Service was outstanding but low key. Food was outstanding. Not much more we could ask for.
The food, beverages and service are ALWAYS perfect...EVERYTIME!!!!!!
So yummy but sooo expensive. We went as couples and it was about $300 a couple
Great old school prime rib. Super friendly staff. Overall great experience
The bill showed a "2oz Hendricks Martini" for $18.00. I believe it may have been a tad larger than 2oz, but it was decidedly TINY and in my estimation, OVER PRICED, compared to other, similar caliber watering holes in Newport Beach. The food was really good and so was the service, but the tiny martini is what I remember most. Why would they do such a small pour, when they KNOW what is going on in the rest of the city? It is disappointing.
A top notch experience. Food, service, environment were great. Our foursome could easily have a conversation!
% towns is my idea of fine dining.. I like it for being quiet, having attentive servers and of course, Tommy who has been there 51 years. Charming place with excellent food.
Whenever we are in the area (once or twice a year) it's our tradition to have dinner at 5 Crowns. We look forward to it and are never disappointed.
From Kenyon, Sara, Michael and Daniel. They Were All Very Attentive And Courteous. Food Was Delicious And Service Was Impeccable. This Was My First Experience At The Five Crowns, As I Celebrated My 52nd Birthday and My 1st Year With My Twin In Heaven. I Will Definitely Be Returning, As A Yearly Tradition To Celebrate His Life.
Hats Off To You 5 Crowns.
Was s very pleasant night to go Wednesday- not crowded. Service outstanding! We all had prime rib- meat was wonderful but sides were just so so for me that is!!
As traditions go, ours has been going to Five Crowns for special occasions Birthdays, Anniversary and of course during the Holiday Season to listen to the Carolers. We have taken special friends with us and they ALWAYS comment on how great the evening was.
I am glad they have a reward program and make it easy to redeem points.
Tommy was off when we visited this time, but he is MR. FIVE CROWNS as he stops by tables and always has a smile for every guest in the dinning rooms. THANK YOU for making our Anniversary a memorable event
Arrived 45 minutes prior to reservation. Wewaited in the lunge 25 minutes before we got a glass of water. After another 25 minutes we asked to be seated at our dinner table hoping service would improve. Still waited another -5 minutes for cocktails. Two appetizers came
In adequate time. Shrimp was lovely, lobster bisque very fishy. My husband and I both ordered the crown cut at $46 a piece .having asked for a lean piece, I was delivered a medium rare fatty fatty piece. Totally inedible.
As always, five Crowns is a wonderful dining experience. We always have excellent food and service!!!
This is a must during the Christmas season for the Holiday Carolers and the decorations.
Five Crowns has always been a place my family and I love to go. The beautiful interior and exterior makes us feel like we are in England at a real tavern. Every time we’ve gone, we have never encountered any terrible experiences. The waiters/waitresses are always in high spirits and the food is to die for. Everything is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend everyone to try it at least once.
My cod was beautifully presented but perhaps a bit overcooked--it wasn't really tender. My date's prime rib au gratin potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were perfect. Love the vibe in the restaurant. The server was friendly but a little oversolicitous.
Enjoyed a fun evening with great food
Good stuff. Never disappoints.
It was such a treat, as always, to have Tommy Martin stop by our table for a visit.
Excellent Five Crowns Ambassador
Food is always great. Tommy has been serving our wine for 44 years! Looking for to our next visit.
Our female server was a great host. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and our server and others went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. We appreciate the hostess for giving us an excellent table, as well as the gentleman that greeted us upon entry. It was a perfect way to close the chapter on a great anniversary. Thank you.
We were there for an anniversary and were given an option of complimentary dessert or glass of champagne, which was nice. Server Vicki was personable, warm and fun.
Restaurant was clean and had great ambiance.
However a couple of issues were,
The classic salmon entree came out less than warm,
Chef did not know where the scallops were from and my son had two virgin cocktail Shirley temples at $8 a piece which seemed a bit steep.
All and all we had an enjoyable experience and will continue to revisit this restaurant because we grew up with it nostalgically as locals. Although, we probably could have spent half as much with same kind of experience elsewhere.
The overall experience was an excellent eating experience. The customer service was outstanding from the time I walked through the door. I was greeted by the most professional and friendly employee who seated me within 5 minutes providing excellent service throughout the night. The meal was excellent.
As always, excellent service, awesome prime rib.
Everything was great, a bit pricey though...
Prime rib is the signature disk, great selection of wines also..
Cocktails at $16 a pop somewhat expensive.
Food and service was excellent. Could improve on their choice of music.
Food was amazing and the service was impeccable! We sat in the green house and it was such a beautiful backdrop to a great dinner!
The food is excellent and so is the service. Great restaurant.
We sat in the patio area. We had no problem with sound and was able to carry on conversations all evening. The young girl that waited on us was very polite and curtious. She took care of all of our needs. All of our dinners were great!
Far and away our favorite restaurant....especially for special occasions!
Took party of 9 including 2 toddlers. The table was great and all of us enjoyed brine food and fine set
About three quarters through or dinner three very gay men were seated to close to us. the one with the biggest mouth Kept saying that I was making comments about them being gay. This back and forth up set my wife on her birthday & she left the table for about 15 min, 5 min later loud mouth took off some where. While he was gone I had a very nice conversation with his 2 friends. They said to not worry about there friend because he gets that way sometime. Their friend returns to the table and I asked him what it was I did or said to upset him,he would not say what it was if anything. I offered my hand to shake his he said no way and told me to F--- off and get the F out of here. That was repeated at least 3 more times to me. I turned to his two friends and I said you guys need to get your friend some help for his anger issues.I told them I had a nice chat with them and I told them to enjoy their dinners. They returned nice comments to me. My wife had returned to the Table to pay the tab and we left. We walked down to Bandera and she was upset during the entire walk down there. Real nice birthday Oh well there's always next year. This problem had nothing to do with your staff in any way every thing but the loud mouth was great thank you very much.
A very pleasant experience!!! We were served a desert in honor of our birthdays. Maria our server was gracious and efficient.
Its a nice quiet place, I have only been here once. I Was hoping for a bit more upscale, the dress code was not enforced. We dressed to the nines, wearing suit etc. 70% of everyone else was in very casual shorts or t shirts. The food was incredible we ate everything on the plate. The portion was great, Id like to explore other seating areas. I did not like the place we were sat and we requested the best table and got some regular window table, and the place was not busy at all on a MONDAY. Little touches like catering to customers who give advanced notice of a celebration for 2 for a nice table to GET a nice table or be asked if the table is ok for them to be seated. They typically ask at any other place, here we were simply seated. Thats all...
Celebrated our 46 year anniversary. Nice quiet dinner for two. We both enjoyed the Prime Rib. I ordered the California cut prepared medium and my husband enjoyed the larger cut. Great service.
Excellent as usual. However, it is somewhat overpriced now and portions are smaller than in the past.
Everything my wife and I ate was wonderful. The summer salad was delicious. The bread to start was warm and tasty. My prime rib was the best. And the wife’s scallops equally delicious. Our server was so kind and attentive. We will be back many many times.
I loved the restaurant. Greg our server was fantastic. We had Soft shell crab, lobster bisque, Prime Rib and 30 day aged Ribeye. Everything was great but the Ribeye, which was absolutely terrible! I have had a better steak at Norms.
Awesome food and superb service and a romantic and classy ambience
