It was a delicious meal and they helped us celebrate our anniversary. Great service.
Such an enjoyable dining experience especially around the holidays. The food was amazing and there were Carolers that sang Christmas music all through the night. The holiday decorations were so festive and beautiful. Starting a new tradition to have dinner during the holidays at Five Crowns every year!
They treated us so well.
One of the best restaurants if not the best in orange county food service atmosphere excellent
We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner at Five Crowns...the menu was varied and included
Turkey and the fixings but we all had beef! Great server and even a birthday trifle for the Birthday
Guy...very thankful for the evening.
We’ve been enjoying the family tradition of Thanksgiving dinner at the Five Crowns since 2003 and the food this year was spectacular. My only complaint is the dessert selection is disappointing.
Service was excellent
Soup was served almost cold however server exchanged for a warmer bowl
Due to storm roof was leaking right behind my chair
Crowded at Thanksgiving and a bit pricey, but always nice to go there for a special occasion.
First time here for Thanksgiving. Loved how it was decorated for Christmas, very cozy.
Thanksgiving at Five Crowns, was fantastic as always.
Thanksgiving Dinner. Absolutely lovely. Delicious. Great service.
Awesome ! Paula was wonderful server as was the rest of the staff !
We were exceptionally pleased that you honor my request to have a quiet place for our dinner as I have hearing difficulties. You placed us in the alcove which was absolutely perfect. And Jill, our server, was exceptional helpful. Thank you also for the surprise dessert brought to our table. Thank you.
Five Crowns is a fantastic place for a celebration as the service and food are both excellent!
Trip to California back to my birthplace and to celebrate my son’s college acceptance and departure next month. Was asked upon being seated if we were here for a special occasion, explained to hostess huge milestone as well as server when he asked again. Charlie, our waiter was cordial, on point and lovely.
We ordered prime rib meals and within minutes (less than five) the food was on the table, even before the wine. It seems food was pre cooked and just plated upon order entry of ticket. The food was luke warm, at best. My expectation was that the meal would be made to order, considering the rating, prices and the connection to Lawry’s in which I have dined at since childhood with my family. I did send my meal back to have it heated properly. Of course, my medium rare was no longer that, as I assume it was put under a heat lamp or microwaved. The plate was now very hot and yet the food was still just warm.
The prime rib did taste good, and the sides were adequate.
Upon dessert, we ordered the apple crumb. After making a big deal about a special occasion, being asked twice as well as on the Open Table reservation site, the dessert was not even complementary. I have no problem paying for it, but if you are doing absolutely nothing for special occasions, why repeatedly ask over and over?
I believe I was generous in my star ratings, merely because of my sentimental feelings for a place where my parents dined before I was born, my childhood memories dining there and our trips to Lawry’s in LA. Perhaps it’s worth it to make the drive to LA, or that the company itself has lower standards over the decades compared to the newer, more trendy offerings of dining experiences.
Our 39th Anniversary. We were greeted with champagne, ended with complimentary berries and cream (cake was notGF). Noisier than we remembered from previous visits. Great service. Unrushed. Lovely evening.
Service was slow. Food wasn't as good as I expected, prime rib was not exceptional, disappointing
Enjoy going to Five Crowns for our special occasions
Was not impressed by this place at all. Mediocre service, ambiance was just ok and most importantly, the food was poor. Wasn’t happy by choosing this place to celebrate my anniversary.
Tradition for fifty years! Four generation consisting excellence. Thank you for the dedication Tommy’s room. You’ve always had a lovely house, of excellence in service, and fantastic Prime Rib all these years! Thank you for having us. A+
Prime rib was horrible. It was suppose to be dry aged.
Our server, Paula, was Awesome. Her assistant was Javier who was absolutely wonderful! The food was splendid as was the atmosphere. It was my husband's 60th birthday and was surprised with a dessert at the end of our meal. Very Nice!
Always amazing. The food is amazing, service is always amazing. And the waitress (Amy) helped me celebrate my special event with perfect service and a candle on my ice cream!
Wonderful prime rib dinner with very friendly staff
My family used to go to Five Crowns every year to celebrate birthdays.
After some years off due to some changes with the restaurant, I decided to give it another try
I was very disappointed. Service was very slow; forgot to put in my sons order and just generally a disappointment .
I don’t know what it is about messing with something that is good, but Five Crowns has definitely gone down hill since when I first went there
Spent our anniversary there and our server Charlie Stone was fabulous!
So delicious. Always a favorite. The steak was the best.
Great dinner Saturday night! Thanks to Jessica, Eliza and the staff for the superb dinner and service.
We had not been to the Five Crowns in quite a long time. We had forgotten how lovely the atmosphere was but most of all how delicious the food was. Our guests enjoyed the lamb and the salmon was excellent. It was commented on a number of times through out the dinner how the combination of flavors was perfect. The creamed corn was so tasty and of course the Yorkshire pudding put the finishing touch on the meal.
Food was great , service was nice, drinks were awesome! We had a ball ! Thank you
We visit this restaurant whenever we are in Newport Beach (about once every couple of years—we own a timeshare at Newport Coast) and it is a highlight of our vacation! This visit was great—food is great, the service is first-class, and it has a British pub-type feeling that we love. If we lived out here, we would be regulars!
The Prime Rib doesn't measure up to the Lawry's restaurants.
Table was not set correctly. We had to wait to get proper silverware.
The lobster bisque was just a thin soup without any pieces of lobster.
Having ordered the large portion of prime rib it turned out to be a rather
small portion of meat and didn't seem like "prime" to me.
The horseradish cream sauce was served in a tiny container.
While we had a very nice waiter he forgot it was my birthday.
All in all I felt that the Five Crowns has lost its high standard
of service and food. Not sure I'll be back until quality is improved.
I can say that Charlie our waiter was the greatest waiter ever.
Extremely pleasant atmosphere and superb service. The food was very tasty and served piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
Wonderful celebration of wife's birthday. Outstanding food and superb service by Shelly.
Today I sent a letter to the manager, very hard to get a hot meal here
The service and ambiance were great—the food, not as good considering the price point. Both of us ordered the prime rib. It was cooked to order but not as tender as expected. The Yorkshire pudding was overcooked. We ate prime rib the following night at another restaurant. It was extraordinarily tender and cost $20 less.
The prime rib was a disappointment.
Everything was excellent.
When you bring a shared appetizer, you should automatically bring plates.
When there’s a special occasion dessert, ask about other desserts and then bring all desserts at the same time.
