This place really missed the mark for me. It was my first time, and sadly, also my last. First, I had a reservation for 8:30. As I was walking up to the restaurant, I received a text that my table was ready... great timing! I approached the hostess stand who was particularly unpleasant, she simply said "ok" and went back to what she was doing. FIFTEEN minutes later, I was called for my table that was "ready" when I was walking in the front door. Odd. The restaurant was not busy, despite being a Friday night (clue!) and there were many empty tables - so not sure why we had to wait so long. Well, the wait for the table was about equal to the wait for our server "Chad" to come say hello to us. He was super dry and lacked any noticeable personality. He took our wine/drink order, and then disappeared for another 15/20 minutes. Again, many empty tables, what is the hold up? No clue.. no apology, just carried on like this was the every day experience. We had clam chowder (REALLY good), Alligator Bites (soggy, cold, and chewy but flavor was good). The house salad was really very tasty... but the garlic/cheese rolls were burnt and tasted like ash - disappointing at the least. Main courses were good, but I felt the portion size on the Mahi to be unusually small. I ordered it blackened, and while it was really under-seasoned to be called "blackened" it was still tasty - small, but tasty. The side, broccoli casserole, was very good. Overall, for the price point, I was REALLY let down by the apathetic and slow service. He never even asked how everything was. No manager came by the table, and no hostess even said goodbye on our way out. Total let down, for something I had been looking forward to for a while. As I said, my first and last visit.
Food and service was very good however it took 45 minutes to get in even with the reservation.
All was very good except two of the three meals all beef were not cooked correctly way off the menu is extensive value very good
Everything was great!
We had a 7:30 pm reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. Why bother taking reservations?
We've never had a bad meal here. The clam chowder and filets are top notch. Oh and definitely save room for dessert.
The food was excellent and our waiter was great!
Not worth it. Waited over an hour for food. Server was not the best
Great service, loved the stone crabs!
Well maintained Keys fishing atmosphere.
Seafood like what you'd expect to get on the Key.
Steaks are amazing as are the wood-grilled pork chops.
Good sides and the salad is very tasty.
I must visit whenever I'm in town.
Attentive service; salad EXCELLENT! King crab legs less than optimal; Chilean Sea Bass was not, in fact, Chilean Sea Bass. If you are a true aficionado of CSB, it is incumbent upon you to verify. Will seek alternative venue for seafood.
I was disappointed with the restaurant as a whole compared with the Lake Mary location. No patio and the ambiance is lacking. The overall food was also lacking from our regular experience. We always come for the happy hour to Lake Mary and the appetizers and drinks were fine. I ordered the grouper and was very disappointed with the overcooked and small portion i received. While it was taken off the bill, it was too late in the dinner to order another entree. Our waitress was short with and not very friendly. Somewhat disappointing experience.
Overall nice environment and staff. Food in general seemed a while to come out which is surprising as the main course was warm v hot.
Servers were very attentive and the manager came over several times to ensure we were satisfied with our experience, and to bring us a complementary appetizer. Their handmade infused pineapple vodka made for an amazing pineapple cosmo! Very fresh! They are know for their handmade vodkas and have several made each day. Our appetizers were delicious but the calamari was a little too greasy. Not my favorite. Our dinners came out hot, well-presented, and nice portions. My trigger fish special topped with crab and a truffle beurre blanc sauce was amazing! The all you can eat fried shrimp is not your average. Very large butterflied shrimp with a light breading. Crisp and not greasy. Overall experience was very good!
Our favorite Orlando restaurant! Great fish, steaks, everything on menu. Service always excellent.
The tables in the back room are close together making it tough to have a conversation without everyone listening. Would request a booth if going with 2-4 people.
I'm 40 and have ate at many restaurants from Florida to Maine to Texas and this is at the top of the list, I've ate here twice and both times were amazing, the trigger fish was the special both times, it was so amazing the first time I got it the next visit too, best thing I've ever ate. My wife had the filet mignon with truffle butter and giant Madagascar prawn and also amazing. If this restaurant was closer to my house I'd go broke eating here lol
Best Salmon ever - moist and flaky. Went well with the mashed potatoes. Don’t get the Irish Coffee. Coffee was cold and little to no Irish Whiskey. I sent it back - no issue
We met local family members and friends from out of town for a great meal. The service was great and we even received complementary appetizers and desserts! We always come here when traveling to Orlando! The triggerfish special was AMAZING
We love FishBones! We are from Illinois and have been “wintering” in Orlando for 10 years. We make it a point to dine here at several times during our 10 week stay. The food has always been of high quality. The lamb chops are absolutely delicious and the fish selections are always a good choice. We’ve been lucky to have had high quality, friendly servers . We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Very good food and service. Booths were rather small. We would go there again.
Food was excellent but server forgot several peoples’s drinks and 2 appetizers never came to the table.
Great tasting food across the menu. The “featured” wines were very expensive...shame on us for not asking for the price. Service was very very good.
My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and it was almost embarassing !!
The waiter was treating us as we were two teenage at their first meeting, making jokes on the post-dinner (!!) and being too much present at our table.
Moreover, the quality of food is just fair but the price is very high.
I do not recommend this place to anyone, apart from those who would like to laugh at the waiter!
Good service. Menu was a little pricer then expected for $.
Restaurant was practically empty and it took over an hour for our entrees to come out without anyone checking up on us. When our food finally came out it was cold and flavorless. Poor service, poor food, poor experience overall
Loved the food and our waitress Jennifer was amazing!
It was very fun and satisfying
The special was triggerfish and was very good. I paired it with the broccoli dish which is topped with cheese & bacon...what’s not to like? Our server was particularly attentive. My only regret was not saving room for a spectacular chocolate cake that was served in the booth behind me.
We were VERY pleased with the food. However we had terrible service. We ordered drinks and an appetizer . It took an extremely long time to get your drinks. Finally after we received our drinks, the appetizer came. our waiter excused himself, said he would be right back. 15 minutes later he came back. We ordered our entrees and another round of cocktails. After waiting 15 minutes for our drink order, my husband went to the bar to,find out where our drinks were. The floor manager for the restaurant, asked if she could help, my husband told her what was going on. She immediately got our cocktails. We waited another 30 minutes for our entree. 2 out of the 4 entrees were incorrect. My husband had ordered a filet and received a steak kabob, our guest order stone craps and received crab legs. The other two entrees were correct. By the time the two incorrect orders were replaced with the current, I and our other guest were done eating our entree.
We then decide to have dessert....crime brûlée and...I ordered Apple pie and received key lime.
The food was delicious, I am not sure if our waiter was new, if the bar was backed up, no idea how the entree and dessert order was wrong...server, kitchen???? Your guess is as good as mine.
We did receive a discount on our bill. But, we were very disappointed, when 2 are done eating before the other 2 received their order that is not right.
We have eaten at Fishbones before and we will probably again. It just put a damper on the evening. Not sure our guests will eat there again.
Based on recommendations from our hotel concierge and ratings on TripAdvisor we made our first visit to FishBones. Our party of 4 each ordered a different entree and everyone had very positive comments. I ordered a fresh fish option prepared simply but it was delicious!
Server was very busy but still attentive to our table. It was a bit loud but was a packed house on a Friday night. Would recommend this restaurant.
The wait was short and we got a nice booth. The chef sent out an Italian meatball as a starter. This was followed by a cheese bread and the side salad of iceberg lettuce in a simple Italian dressing that was satisfying. Yr He salad was included with the price of the entree. The special was Teigger fish, lightly blackened. The ok McLeer side dish of asparagus was huge but tender and the highlight of the meal. The service was excellent. Collen was quick and checked on us frequently. It was a delightful dinner.
I have eaten many times over the years at Fishbones. This was my first bad experience. I ordered a New York strip medium. It came out raw and very fatty. It ruined my evening of what I was expecting .
We try to eat here every year we come to Florida. Awesome food and service.
Sorry to have to say but the service was so bad it ruined it. Our waiter was very nice but was clearly not attentive to details and perhaps overwhelmed by the other tables around us. On observation, the other tables sent food back and I saw the manager come over and apologizing to them a few times. It took about 45 minutes to pay the bill because their system is not set up well to split checks (traveling for business so unfortunately it makes it easier on us). The food was okay. Don't think the upgrade to truffle butter is a wise investment. I had the unlimited crab claws and they were yummy. They're served cold (which I knew) with more of a remoulade sauce instead of clarified butter and I think I should have asked for the butter. The claws came pre-cracked but they're still sharp so watch out! A few at my table had the all-you-can-eat fried shrimp. I would love that but it would be cool if it was a different variety of shrimp like all-you-can-eat choice of fried shrimp, cocktail shrimp, shrimp scampi, etc. Just for a little variety. Someone else had steamed King crap legs and we had to ask for him to bring her butter with them. The salads were decent. The potato was fine but again...I'd probably forego the truffle butter upgrade and just stick with sour cream and cheese. Overall, dinner was around 3 hours. At least we had some fun conversation!
Excellent food and service. Would surely come again.
Everything was excellent the service, the food, and the ambiance.
During science conference had an opportunity to eat here. The food was great and service quick and servers very helpful to suggest good entries. Would definitely come back again.
Excellent service. Food delicious. Love the bottomless salad bowl. House dressing is amazing.
Excellent experience. I’d recommend to anyone looking for quality seafood and steaks
