The restaurant is now closed, apparently permanently. But they did not inform me, even though I had a reservation; it simply had a sign on the door saying it was closed.

To whom it may concern, VERY upsetting and embarrassing to show up at the restaurant for my reservation and finding out that this restaurant is CLOSED, not for that day but the restaurant was GONE. It was for my friend’s birthday dinner and I was mortified and embarrassed. How is this possible that I was not only able to book on OPENTABLE and still got this confirmation?!?! I expect and would appreciate some explanations, apologies and some kind of compensation. Best, Lina Viengkhou

Very disappointing. While the service was never great the food use to be much better. New menu leaves off the reason we use to go. Pretty sure we waited at least 45 minutes between finishing appetizer and main course - even though we asked about it a few times. No reason to go back...

This restaurant is very good. The food is good and the service also good. the only problem recently has been that it is very hot inside in the summer. I was there last week and the air conditioning was broken and it was a bit like a sauna. Aside from this, I enjoyed it and plan on returning, especially if they fix the air conditioner. Try the tacos - they are delicious.

Fans set up everywhere, crap at the bar, no one offered second round of drinks, had to flag down barman as he was waiting tables. Half the menu not available. Restaurant gave feeling it was struggling.

I wrote a rave review for this favorite restaurant of ours a few years ago, when it opened. We've been here several times, and I regret to say, last Friday was disappointing. About half our meal was not up to snuff, which has never happened before. The Shrimp Catalan was not very good at all. The shrimp was slightly overcooked, and the potatoes were very undercooked. They were not patatas bravas by any stretch-- those are meant to be crispy. And we ordered a cheese at the end that was melted (not what I expected), but the cheese had separated from the oil almost immediately. The octopus was as good as ever, as was the salmon tartar. The prawn toast (bruschetta) was OK- not as good as usual. They used to have a Bacala (smoked cod) bruschetta that was out of this world, but they've yanked it from the menu over a year ago...I hope they bring it back. We'll probably give it another shot, but I'm not sure we can call it our favorite restaurant any longer. Service is always good here, though...

This is the first time I have ever been compelled to write a review. I am not generally hard to please. I was worried when I walked in because at 8 PM on a Thursday night, this restaurant was not at all busy. The experience started with the waiter saying "First let me tell you what we don't have"... A restaurant called FISHTAG and they were out of Tuna, Sea Bass & Bronzino. That eliminated at least 5 menu items as those items were both appetizers and mains. I believe the only fish that remained was a Trout special and Salmon. My son ordered a beer and "surprise" they were out of that one too. If I hadn't been with my son, I would have cut my losses and left as I had a feeling. The rest of the experience was sub-par. The food was not horrible but just acceptable. We didn't bother with dessert because I couldn't wait to get out of there. The service was attentive and friendly, no complaints with the waiter.

Finding a decent fish restaurant in Manhattan that doesn't cost a arm and a leg is difficult. So delighted that I found FishTag. The food is excellently prepared, nicely portioned and presented in a room that's kinda cozy. Have brought friends there and they were delighted as well. Be careful you don't pass it by. The dining room is quite far back past a lovely bar. Give the fish and chips a try. Yummy !

Greatly disappointed this time around dining here. The appetizer, smoked octopus was tender but lacked any type of smoked flavor. The entrees, grilled branzino was just ok. Cooked well but the seasoning was lacking from my first visit here. The fish and chips were good and tasty but could have come with another piece of fish. The wine on the menu was available, but you were not told until the waiter retuned and stated we are out of it. I thought it may have just been an oversite, but I overheard another table request the same wine by the bottle only to be told it was not available and asked to try another white wine. Bait and switch? I left disappointed and should have listened to some of the other recent reviews, something here has differently changed.

Everything was good until the end. For some inexplicable reason, towards the end of our meal, a party of four was seated right behind us. There was a quiet table of two in front of us and the rest of the room was COMPLETELY empty. A foolish and unnecessary decision. They could have been seated anywhere providing us and them with a modicum of privacy. No longer able to hear our own conversation, we left. And will not return. Too bad. It was otherwise a delightful evening.

Went there with my family for my birthday dinner. It couldn’t have been a better night. From the moment we walked in, Dan, the host was amazing. He was friendly, fun and very accommodating. Our waitress was also wonderful. And the food was just outstanding. Everything we had was delicious, from the steak tacos, shrimp tacos, salmon, skirt steak and sable. Overall, an amazing meal with an amazing staff. Definitely recommend

4 of us met at this convenient restaurant to attend some plays on W 86th Street. We arrived early but were not seated until all 4 of us arrived. Waiter kinda slow in taking orders, and was especially slow bringing one martini along with the glasses of wine to the table. He may have had an off day. I ordered ceviche. Presented on a long white slab-plate. Hmmm. Food not great. Alas.

We made a reservation to eat here prior to a concert at the Beacon Theater. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The food was good but certainly not special. The melted pecorino with lemon zest and the smoked tuna appys were very good. My sea bass was cooked perfectly with crispy skin but was perched on a rather bland corn and bell pepper succotash. My girlfriend's branzino was a bit over cooked and served with good but boring roasted brussel sprouts. This is a good spot to hit prior to a concert but it didn't make me want to run back there. They also need to up their wine game. Their by the glass choices were limited and uninteresting.

Worst experience in a good restaurant ever. Inquiry after 45 minute wait post-ordering yielded neither result nor information. After an hour we were told they were out of octopus but they had no explanation of why we didn’t get the already prepared smoked fish or news sooner. After 80 minutes they confessed that the server had failed to push the button that would forward the order to the kitchen. No explanation of why they didn’t discover this sooner despite our inquiries. Food finally came. They comped drinks, wine and the 3 appetizers they finally produced. Not good enough. We could afford to pay our bill - we wanted our food and done one to pay attention to their house. Enter at your own peril

Hard to find but nice once we got past curb appeal. Attentive waitress who they sent home (overheard)because they were slow, service good in transition but a little explanation would have been nice. Worse thing was they ran out of Chardonnay (I don’t understand how that happens) but all in all a nice meal and experience.

The food was delicious, beautifully prepared bronzino with carmelized Brussel sprouts and a tasty fried cod dish for my dining companion. The service was beyond weird. They were out of Chardonnay by the glass (?) and refused to open a bottle of any other Chardonnay, so I ended up with a glass of an OK Sauv. Blanc, but I wasn't the only diner who was put in this position. They don't serve bread, though on request they give 2 pieces of grilled (very good) bread. No salt or pepper on the table. Our dessert, apple tart, arrived before any forks to eat it and the crust, which I think was filo dough was firm enough it required a knife, which we were only given one of because we were splitting it. If you can put up with feeling the customer is always wrong, the food is very good.

Fishtag has been one of my go-to brunch places. But the most recent experience was totally disappointing. Maybe because of lack of servers, when I entered the restaurant, there's no one at the front for 2 minutes. And when we had to change table because of sunlight, we had to move everything by ourselves. There was not one help with anything. I went with the prix fixe brunch, which includes coffee. I waited almost till the end of the meal and was told there was issue with their coffee machine. That's fine things happen. But at least they should make up for that, getting a coffee from the coffee shop next door, offer an option for another drink or just deduct the coffee price from the check. At least do something make the customer feel they tried to compensate.

Service was slow. And not very attentive. Restaurant is small so not sure why they couldn't check on us and we had to keep asking for everything. Brought some food and then a long while after brought the rest. One dish was wrong and our other guest sat without her food for 15 mins while we ate. They said sorry but didn't offer her a drink or coffee for the inconvenience. It's a nice place but they need more staff and maybe she should train them better.
