Food and ambiance was great. Waiter was awful.
We have dinner at Fish when we vacation in Naples once a year. The food , service and outdoor ambiance can’t be beat. This time however was a disappointment because of the food. I had the lobster and scallop ravioli. The ravioli was dry around the edges, the filling and sauce very bland, the lobster pieces were dry and tasteless , the scallops also had little flavor. My husband had the bolognaise and did not like it either. We split a large beet, goat cheese salad which was delicious, and finished with the chocolate bomb and coffee which were also delicious. Our service was excellent and we enjoyed a family of manatees swimming along the restaurant bulkhead. We hope to have a better experience next year.
This is my first ever Open Table review. I am in the food business and this was a business dinner. OT showed the 4 stars and other reviews. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The place looks like a dormitory cafeteria - no ambience and questionable cleanliness. Service was virtually non-existent, even when we were the only two people in the restaurant. Mussels were teeny tiny and cold and fortunately neither of us got sick. Red snapper was not served hot. Stay away.
We go to Fish on a semi-regular basis for the ambience, water views, and consistently good
fish. I had oysters that were very fresh and the tuna steak rare. My wife had the branzino.
We had had several special dinners with our friends and relatives and have never been disappointed.
This is truly the last time I will dine at Fish and I almost feel like telling everyone I see that they should avoid it as well. We have tried this restaurant over the last 6 years as we live in Naples every winter and it is quite close to our home there. We took last year off completely because the service and attitude from previous years had been so disturbing that we were leery of taking guests-never a good experience. So last night we took a couple as our guests and we were all treated as if we were imposing on the restaurant to try to eat there. Although we had made a reservation on Open Table and the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full (as usual even though it is the season in Naples) the hostess told us there would be a 30 minute wait. There were tables by the water but she maintained that those were reserved (same as what we had done:) We spoke to the manager who was even more rude than the hostess (if possible). I think that Fish just clearly has a different agenda than making customers happy and serving them well. We won’t be back.
The food was delicious, we had excellent service and a demonstration of this restaurant caring for its customers. I orderd fettucine alfredo with shrimps, my wife the bouillabaise soup. My meal was perfect but my wife found her bouillabaise overly spicy, while tasty with abundant high quality ingredients. Fortunately, Shane, our server, came within a minute or two to inquire our appreciation of our meals. He immediatly offered to bring the bouillabaise back to the kitchen and get the chef to see what he could do about the spices or change my wife meal.
While the place was full and very busy the replacement came back in less than 5 minutes. Indeed the spices had been considerably attenuated and my wife accepted the bouillabaise.
After our main course was finished, Shane inquired about my wife sasisfaction. She said that it was delicious although still a little spicy to her liking and suggested that the menu should describe the bouillabaise as spicy. Shane immediately offer to remove the charge. We refused not wanting to abuse as we had accepted our meals which overall were tasty and abundant. When Shane came back with our desserts he mentioned that he had nevertheless remove the bouillabaise from our bill because the restaurant policy was to provide us with a totally satisfying experience. Before leaving I asked to speak to the manager as we wanted to express our satisfaction with our server and the restaurant policy. Antoine, the manager, came by and before we could say anything, expressed how sorry he was that our experience was not totally satisfactory. We assured him that had done what would be expected of a first class establishment. We will definitely return to Fish.
The setting is absolutely gorgeous, looking out in the water. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was delicious! We had the kale salad, Brussels sprouts and Branzino. All were fabulous. I’ve enjoyed dining here each time I’ve come.
Only reason I wouldn’t go back was the waiter. The place was fairly empty since we were eating around 9:00. But I had many times I couldn’t get the waiter’s attention. Very frustrating.
Slow service and marginal food. We had to continuously ask our waiter to bring essentials such as salt, pepper, butter, and a refill of drinks. Took a long time t deliver our meals. Kale salad was very average. Fried, breaded seafood platter was OK, but the french fries were soggy and the cole slaw tasteless and unattractive on the plate.
Major complaint was way too much food- ie huge portions. Wish we had known how much food was coming so we could have shared or asked for 1/2 portions?
Had to push hostess not to be seated by kitchen. Ignored most of meal, never ask to refresh drink. Flagged down waiter for a wine, said no house Cabernet available and wouldn’t give me any other red at that price even though he had 2 glasses of red that were refused at another table. Forgot salad so was served same time as entree. Nothing offered to make up for very poor service! Will never go back and am advising friends of the same!
In years past, we've had good meals, but not this time. The presentation was very nice, but the fish was bland and the rest uninteresting.
A high price for mediocre food makes a poor value meal.
The setting on the water is wonderful. But probably won't go back.
We went for my friends birthday and the service was amazing. I went with my 10yr old daughter who was starving and management made sure she was served her food ASAP. Overall great food and great service.
Perfect romantic date night!
Very disappointed,Terrible service ,food over cooked and lacking of flavor.
Ordered oysters for appetizer. Looked like they were opened by a child...ripped and not very appetizing looking. Cocktail sauce came with 90% horseradish and 10% ketchup. Main course which was also dry and tasteless, came out 30 seconds after appetizer! All this for $120+ for two of us. Will NEVER visit this restaurant again!
Our second visit to this restaurant. A beautiful setting overlooking the Bay. Great food, great service and a relaxing dinner.
All 4 women were warmly welcomed. Our hostess accommodated our needs. We had a good food experience. Those 3 who selected the snapper (1) and trout(2) had the more memorable results. The guest of honor who recommended Fish to the rest of us, selected what appealed and seemed satisfied.
I reported this experience to my husband and he wants to try Fish. I have agreed to return with my husband in the future.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a pattern of poor service this season, having dined here before. When we arrived the host meets us with “We overbooked” and didn’t offer anything. We asked if there was going to be an opening and he said yes. We asked if we could get a glass of wine while waiting and he said okay. No wait staff approached to get our order until we asked for assistance. Once seated we had to wave down our waiter to get some service. Very disappointing and not likely to return in the immediate future.
This restaurant doesn’t live up to its white table cloth status. Though the view was beautiful whether sitting indoors or out, our meal was sub par, given the prices. Celebrating a birthday for a family member we wanted to give this upscale restaurant a try. However, the only highlight of our meal was seeing Judge Judy seated nearby, otherwise our meals were bland and small portioned, especially the red snapper. Larger shrimp in the scampi dish were tough and hard to eat. Won’t be coming back...
We've eaten here before, but this experience was not up to par. We had a reservation and were seated right away, got a bread basket and drinks...and then sat for a while. The waiter took our order and then....we sat some more. After 45 minutes we still had drinks and a bread basket, but not even our appetizers. My husband's trout was so overcooked he had to send it back and order something else. The poor waiter was doing his best, but the kitchen failed miserably. We received no apologies from anyone but the waiter. Will not go back.
We try to dine at Fish on all of our visits to Naples. We have yet to be disappointed in the menu, the presentation and taste of the food and we feel the prices are very reasonable. We especially like to dine outside by the great water view. On this visit we were able to get seated earlier than our reservation which was a bonus! Love Fish!!
Lovely moderately priced choice for dining by by the water. Good food and personal service.
The Sushi has been consistent ly excellent!
Had an excellent dinner at Fish this past weekend. Our outside table had a beautiful view and the ambiance was perfect. Our server recommended the paella to share, a great choice! From start to finish the service was relaxed but attentive! Highly recommend for a special lunch or dinner!
Let me start by saying the restaurant was basically empty. A couple of tables outside but no tables seated inside at all.
It was easter Sunday, the restaurant was pretty empty at 7.15pm. We were seated promptly and received water....then came NOTHING. We tried to waive down the waiter in our outdoor section (Shane). We only got constant hand signals coming but nothing happened. After then complaining to an elderly Italian Manager we were assigned a different waiter (Fernando). It took a total of almost 30 minutes from being seated until were served our wine.... plus the bottle was first put on the table and then he went to take care of his section... then came back to FINALLY open our bottle of wine.
We had ordered appetizer (grilled Calamari) and our dinner entrees, since we weren't sure when someone would be back. The Calamari really did not come with an Ajoli and the dish was not decorated for what we would expect from an expensive restaurant. We ordered 3 Branzino filets which were all dry. The Black grouper was ok. The ladies were drinking a different wine by the glass and since neither server was available one of us had to go to the bar to complain again and finally receive another glass of wine.
We have been here a lot but from what we heard, the son's Owner and Owner had an argument about a week ago or so and the son who was managing it has left and is no longer in charge. Friends who were also regulars here have also decided not to come here any more. It is not worth paying $400 for 4 people, get no service and nobody cares. The waiter Fernando apologized, but it is not his fault that he is pulled from another section and can't serve us because Shane can't manage 6-8 Tables by himself. All the waiters were paying more attention to rolling up silverware into napkins for the next day rather than to help others .
We will not be back. Good luck in OFF Season because us locals will chose other good Italian Fish restaurants.
NOT WORTH IT
Great views and food was very tasty.
Our family and friends really enjoyed our Easter meal on the waterfront at FISH. The ambience and food selections were delicious and ample. I had the bronzino which was light and accompanied by an herb butter sauce. Some others pronounced the veal shank outstanding. Our waiter was helpful and attentive, though we were not in a hurry. All in all, it was a very nice experience.
As always, the meal was delicious and nicely presented. I tried the brazino, a mild fish, and it was superb.
Servers are pleasant however our table of 4 waited 1 hour for our lunch to arrive. Restaurant was not that busy. Then had to wait several minutes for server to bring check.
Ambience was amazing because a full moon was rising as we looked out over the water. I don’t think FISH was responsible for it. Nevertheless with good food and an attentive server we had a lovely evening.
Wonderful. Great food, very experienced and fun waiter who gave us great suggestions for our meal.
Salvatore the proprietor is always bouncing between MiraMare and Fish at Venetian Village always making sure his customer are happy. Best seafood and sushi in all Naples
The outdoor seating was amazing. Very attentive staff. Impressive menu. We loved the lobster.
We dine often 3 times a month or more, this time with friends special time NOT as we have had many times before
The food and atmosphere are great! Beautiful location and view. The service was very slow, we waited for 15 minutes before our waiter came to the table. Overall it was really nice, just slow but that’s more time to enjoy.
Our third time there... always great food and service!!
Of the 4 of us, my dinner was likely the best (rare sesame crusted Ahi). However, even this entree didn't come with a starch. At $36, I would've expected some rice rather than having to order a side of it. The special was a small fish (I don't recall the type, but it was a common fish) that came with 2 sides. We never asked how much it would be assuming it couldn't be any more than the most expensive entree ($38). It turned out to be $55 and it was small. One of us waited forever for a drink (surprising since that is one of the big money makers in restaurants). The view sitting outside of the waterway was nice, but the disappointment in the dinners for 3 out of 4 of us overshadowed the atmosphere. None of us will be returning since there are too many other very good to excellent restaurants nearby.
Great meal and outstanding service. A little overpriced in my opinion.
We loved our waiter, he was very good and had a wonderful personally.
