Fish Restaurant & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
1st time... we would rate it fair. The cioppino was overpriced and underwhelming. The mussels were very good but the cobbler dessert was mushy and had too much cinnamon. The bar looked promising until the band started and the noise level was very high even at the tables 50 feet away. The overall best grade goes to the pleasant waitress.
We dined on a Saturday night, and there was a live jazz band in the bar area. The food was interesting and well prepared. The tuna tartare was yummy. The new large shrimp dish with Cajun curry, veggies and polenta was delicious. Great ambience, terrific service and tasty food.
Caesar salad was fresh, but the dressing didn't taste much like those I'm used to. I had never had white anchovies before, and I much prefer the others. The swordfish was good, especially the sauce. Three others in my party all enjoyed their food, as well.
Soap dispenser in Men's Room was empty.
I have been to Fish a few times. The food is good, but it is an hour from my house. So, I only go for special occasions. When I reserved the table online for my birthday celebration, I requested seating in the bar due to the open-air aspect and live music. A representative called from Fish earlier that day to inform me of potential parking issues that evening. During that conversation, I confirmed the bar seating request. However, when we arrived, we were told that there was no bar seating available because they gave the tables to walk-ins. Potential diners should be aware that Fish will prioritize walk-in diners over those with reservations. We like the open-air atmosphere at the bar at Fish, so this was disappointing. When we expressed our disappointment, we were offered a table for two, even though we were a party of four, which was just silly. We can save the drive and get delicious seafood closer to home or go to Allora about a mile away from Fish for a beautiful outdoor dining experience instead.
We were celebrating the 70th birthday of twin brothers, my husband and brother-in-law. There were eleven of us in our party and we asked for two checks. We were seated next to the kitchen. It was very noisy. Waitress mixed up our orders. She put incorrect charges on both bills. She made more mistakes when she tried to fix her billing errors after she tried to convince us that the errors really didn't make a difference. She seemed to disappear frequently. Three members of our party ordered the oysters which they liked. The food was tasty, nicely prepared and in good portions. Would not go there again. Food did not outweigh the sloppy and poor service.
Large choice of fresh fish and seafood offered. Fresh oysters on the half shell are spectacular for the variety offered from New England waters. Service was excellent as was the food presentation. Our family's favorite go-to restaurant for great seafood at reasonable prices.
Have been to Fish Restaurant a number of times with various size groups. have always been satisfied in the past when at lest one person ordered the Paella. Not this time. We both ordered the Paella (after a shrimp cocktail and Octopus appetizers), and the Cos-cos in the red sauce was as good as usual, but what happened to the Fish? We each got 6 mussels, 2 thin slices of scallop and a Tiny shrimp each. There was no squid, octopus or white fish to be found in the Paella. Again, it was very tasty, but it was missing half the promised fish. At the price of mussels and squid, can't understand the lack of even some or more of this to offset what was missing!
It was not a Paella dinner.
Could that be why the restaurant was half empty onSaturday night?
There was only one wait staff on duty when we arrived at 1:30; the waiter also acted as bartender. He was very pleasant, but through no fault of his own service was very slow.
We thought the prices were high for the overall quality of the food. One of us had the baked stuffed lobster @ $39 (?) and felt the quality did not live up to the price. The oysters, while a wide selection, were pricey at $3.00 each, we are used to $2.50 as a normal price - therefore we passed on the oysters.
Lastly, while the restaurant was clean and big, it felt more like it was a diner in a former life.
All told no regrets in going there, but would not go back.
Very nice experience! Met family/friends and had a great experience! We were late getting our group together but the host was so accommodating! Service very good, all in our party were happy with their meals. Excellent drinks, entrees and dessert. Thank you!
on a recent Sunday night we drove to Fish for a very nice dining experience, food and service is above average , food is very fresh and well prepared, waitress was very good at her job and well trained in serving, we will return again to enjoy a very good meal in a very nice restaurant
We enjoyed the fish and chips. The scallop dish was different than I expected. It was a visually unappealing plate to look at - a lot going on with too many textures, sauces and combinations. Although usually an adventurous diner, this was just a miss for me. Service was great, live music was an unexpected plus.
