While our experience was middling on the whole, there were both high and low points worth noting. The cuisine, while not exceptional, was certainly palatable and reliable. On the flip side, the juices lacked the crisp freshness one might anticipate. Service was competent, though it didn't exude the warm hospitality that often sets a dining experience apart. On a positive note, the ocean view provided a stunning backdrop, its beauty offering a redeeming feature to our visit.

Good food and reasonable prices. Has an ocean view but the traffic between your table and the ocean wall takes away a bit. Better to get seated at tables just in from the front row is better. Less of the traffic is visible but still good views of the bay. I have an allergy so unfortunately my meal had to be remade as the mango salsa was not left off the dish. That meant my husband and I didn’t eat at the same time.

The experience was wonderful. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the staff and management treated us like family. The server (Felicia) was the best ever. Food and drink were awesome.

Fish Hopper is one of our go to Kona Restaurants. Food is good, drinks are good, view incredible and staff attentive. Wife loved swordfish, while I got my Kalua Pork. Both done well. Fish Hopper does the Kona Big Island vibe very well - nice people, casual, just rough enough around the edges, and good food & drink. Reminds me of the old Florida/California Beach restaurants before commercialization! Dont change! Highest compliment from an old Florida guy...

The waitress was amazing. Great personality but our order was wrong. We didn’t order an extra lobster and no chives in baked potato. I got chives, we didn’t complain because overall we had the window table and kona sunset. Bartender was great and drink before dinner was awesome. It was our 32nd anniversary so we didn’t let it bother us. We just enjoyed the moment and the steak and lobster was cooked perfect

I had reserved for Mother’s Day at 10am. I checked in with the hostess and she said it would be a few minutes. Everyone came and went. People that walked in right after us were seated. That’s when I went up to another person working the desk to ask if we were checked in and she looked for tables and seated us right away. Food came out fast which was a plus! It was really busy today. We ordered 2 different steak plates. One medium, one medium rare. Both came out well done lol. I understand because it was chaos. My loco moco and the breakfast burrito were delicious! The view was nice and very breezy!

Still Fabulous! Another evening of pure delicious in a buzzy, busy, but beautiful place. My husband had the special swordfish and shrimp and I had Parmesan encrusted mahi-mahi. Both were stunning presentations with crisp vegetables, wasabi potatoes, and exotic sauces. Service was impossibly quick and attentive without being intrusive. And desserts were to-die-for: chocolate Cherry cake and carrot cake. We’re here for another week and will be back.

We had eaten at Fish Hopper 8 years ago when we were in the area last. We both wanted to go back and thus our visit. The food was wonderful, we had a “window” table so the view of the bay was our backdrop. We will make sure we go back there when ever we are in the area.

This was a Birthday dinner that was told to, and never acknowledged by the restaurant. The manager was very rude when we asked her to please send our server over. A few hours after dinner, my husband was up sick all night from the food and has missed the first day of his birthday vacation because this establishment served him bad food! Unacceptable and we will NEVER return! So sad

Our request for a "front row" table with our reservation was not honored. Disappointing, but not a deal-killer. Service was prompt and friendly. Our food arrived quickly and was very good. The seared ahi could have had another minute or so per side on the grill a it wasn't truly "seared", but the quality of the tuna was outstanding, as was the shrimp and mahi-mahi. The crab cakes were different than what we get in the PNW, but quite tasty. Noise level was a bit high and the traffic along the road in front of the restaurant very loud at times.
