Fish Bones American Grill Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful evening at Fishbones. The waiter, from Poland, was outstanding, He was attentive to our needs and was friendly and courteous. The food was excellent, except that the steak was a bit tough. Other than that, the experience was excellent. Our hats are off to a great restaurant.
Asked for a window seat. Plenty of tables open when we got there, but the inconsiderate hostess felt it was necessary to tuck us into the corner directly beside a party of 12 or more. Would have been one thing had it been the only table left, but i saw several tables open for a while after i was seated. One table at the window stayed open for at least more than half way thru our dinner. The party of 12 was loud and obnoxious and the enclosed area made it dreadful. Why would you seat anyone like that if it was not necessary. Your hostress training needs to be stepped up a lot. If i come back it will not be for a very long time. Too bad because it was my wife's favorite place but with such a non thinking inconsiderate hostess like that, and it so obviously bad, i will not take the chance again. Wow. Worse experience ever when it did not need to be. Can't believe it. Wow. Very disappointing.
I've been to Fish Bones several times, over the past several years. The staff is friendly and the service is good. However, the past two times I've been there my food has come out cold. Well actually barely warm. The meals are not exactly inexpensive here, so I would expect better service. I do not have any idea if it's the fault of the wait staff not picking up the food soon enough, or if it's the chef's problem.
Delighted by our dinner last night. Our server was wonderful - fun and attentive, but hovering. Enjoyed the poutine with pork belly starter. Duo of duck and haddock with shrimp entree were excellent. Seared scallops were good, but could a bit more searing. Ginger creme brulee was a perfect finish. Decent wine list. Noisy, so wouldn't be my first choice for a romantic dinner, but great place overall.
This is a nice restaurant that is tastefully decorated in a rustic style taking advantage of the original mill aesthetics. Despite the hard wall/ceiling surfaces, the noise level increased as the tables filled but not excessively so. The service was good and wait person attentive. We had the pan seared scallops and risotto with shrimp. Both were properly cooked and nicely presented. This was the second time I've taken my mother there for dinner and will do so again in the future.
Friendly welcoming attention from the moment you walk in the door. The server was pleasant, helpful making recommendations. Wine list is good, I had the seafood chowder, excellent and wild caught haddock, delicious. Companion had tuna and wanted it done medium. Server cautioned that more well done than medium would not be good. Tuna was done to perfection. Server checked back to be sure everything was alright. The converted mill is interesting and it was a great place to go before the theatre.
Brought a friend from North Carolina who has a very restrictive diet. She was able to find a meal that fit and she enjoyed it. Mine was the seared scallops and hers was the steak salad but she substituted shrimp for beef. We both enjoyed our meals and had plenty to eat.
Whenever we are in town, we choose Fishbones for dining! We LOVE the ambiance, the service, and of course...THE FOOD!! We enjoyed our server, Lindsay....she is so professional and does a superb job. You can never go wrong here....classy, comfortable and great food!!!
From the moment we walked into the restaurant to the moment.... and everyone nailed it. The chefs all the food was perfect I mean perfect and I'm picky. Bartenders nailed the drinks server did everything perfectly for a new server she has some skills. she was on point general flow the restaurant was solid. steak was cooked to Perfection scallops were seared perfectly and dessert was solid a plus.
Our meal at Fishbones was outstanding, as was the service by our super attentive Server Maciej. We explained that my son had to get back to campus and put in some more hours at the library that evening and he did everything to make our meal go efficiently but smoothly so we had a lovely time. Highlights were the BBQ wings, lobster dish with mushroom ravioli, tuna starter and peach cobbler. Nice selection of wine and beer as well. Atmosphere was inviting and not too loud to be able to enjoy easy conversation at our table, nor too dark to see the menu. We definitely plan to return!
Haven’t been for several months, menu changed from last time. There were several choices that caught my eye, I settled for the Sea Scallops, with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. Both were excellent! The dessert menu was also updated, both desserts were also excellent! Drinks, appetizers, entree and dessert for two, $123.00.
My wife and I went here on a “date-night”, sat at the bar for a cocktail, then sat for dinner. The hostess was very welcoming and the service was expectional! We ordered the smoked wing/rib sampler (perfectly cooked - fall off the bone) and ahi tuna bites for an appetizer (fresh and flavorful!), then we split the crab cake sandwich and the local beef sandwiches and they were amazing! Overall great experience, ambience, wine, and food.
