Firestone's Culinary Tavern, opened in 1999, is located in downtown Frederick's picturesque Historic District. It is housed in a 1921 building that was initially the home of Shipley's Department Store. The restaurant combines outstanding cuisine with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. The Washington Post says, "the atmosphere is prime...the food is, too!".

Firestone's Ratings and Reviews
Perfect choice for Valentine's Day dinner. Nice menu choices, exceptional service and thoughtfulness at every level. From the strawberry champagne to the delicious crab dip followed by palate-cleansing sorbet and capped off with delicious entrees, everything was delicious, carefully prepared, nicely presented and served with courtesy and class. Can you tell we enjoyed it tremendously?
YUM. This dinner was amazing. I had always heard good things about this restaurant and my experience lived up to the hype. I am still dreaming about the surf and turf I had 3 days ago. Although it's a little pricey, it's perfect for special occasions and worth it!
Firestone's never disappoints. We were not hungry so we had the cheese plate, the gourmet mac and cheese and their basic hamburger. Food was tasty--well prepared and presented. It's a great place that most people might skip because it looks like a bar from the outside. However, if you dine here, you'll certainly be delighted that you've found another Frederick gem!
Outstanding food and service! They did absolutely everything to make our anniversary dinner very special and memorable.—‘Happy Anniversary’ and the date was printed on our menu, and dessert was on the house! The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and exquisitely presented. The service was excellent in every way. Would definitely go there again!
I took my mother here for her birthday and it was a great birthday brunch. Our waiter, Tyler, was so friendly and helpful. Our food came out at a good pace. The Sunday we were there was great because of the live music and great view from the top. I will defiantly go there again in the future for another birthday, get together, date etc. Can't say enough how great their dinning experience was. My mother loved it and that made all the world to me. Would recommend to anyone who wants good food in a fun and vibrant place.
The food was phenomenal; however, the service needs work. It was a special occassion we were celebrating and our server kept rushing us through our dinner service. I can only assume she was doing this because the restaurant was packed and they needed the table. But every time we were working on our meal she wanted to remove our plates before we were done. Same thing happened when we ordered our appetizers and entrees and even with the dessert. We really wanted to finish our meal as it was very delicious but overall the whole experience felt rushed. I wasn’t taking pica or anything with my phone to prolong my dinner my husband and I were just eating and I don’t even think we are that much slow eaters. If you want a quick rushed bite, this is the place for you but if you want to share the moment and have time for a conversation with someone and actually have time to finish your meal go elsewhere.
There were little options for gluten free. We ended up just getting the shrimp cocktail appetizer and going to Brewers Alley for lunch because they have a gluten free menu there. With so many restaurants offering GF options I was surprised Firestone’s had nothing to offer. Very disappointing.
Firestone’s is one of our favorites. Great food and excellent service. My only complaint is the noise. The bar is right below the tables and on a Friday or Saturday night the noise level can make it hard to have a conversation. We are going to try to go on weeknights from now on.
