Food and staff were incredible and very personable.
Wonderful restaurant but noise level from the bar can be overwhelming, by not controlling the noise at the bar makes this fine dining restaurant at time less than desirable.
We did not oder alcohol tonight and I believe this is why we were ignored. It took 90min to receive our dinner.
Pleasant brunch spot !
I took family here to dinner one evening and we tried an asirtbebt if raw appetizers (oysters, tuna, hurrays, and ceviche), cooked foods (flatbread, pastrami sandwich, burger, and steak salad), and a few cocktails too. All 6 of us were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was! The pastrami sandwich was by far my favorite, and I never eat pastrami, but WOW. We saw how highly rated/reviewed it was, which is why we tried it. I will definitely be going back here!
My husband and I went there for our 12 year wedding anniversary. We indicated it would be our anniversary and were very pleased when we found our reservation was on the upper level right next to the window. Although there were diners around us, we could easily converse while we people-watched on the street. The food was great -- I had shrimp and grits, but the grits were chicken-fried (creamy cheesy grits on the inside), but battered and deep fried when frozen so they have that yummy flaky coating from the outside of a fried chicken. There were lots of little in-between course single bits to add variety and surprise to the meal. And, they provided a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We like to try out lots of places and this was good value for the money in our experience.
Really great service. A super-friendly atmosphere. Creative menu.
We were promptly seated at the table of our choice and my drink arrived soon afterwards. it was just ok; a bloody mary with way too much black pepper. The crab dip ordered for the table was ok too. Perhaps the menu, or our very attentive wait person should have told us it is only enough for two, not four people. And I did say "crab dip for the table". The entrees were fine, with the exception of a salad that was ala carte. The greens were dripping with a sour house dressing that rendered them inedible. Last, although my friends ice tea, and our water was refilled many times, my coffee was not refilled even once. The size of the cup was stingy, not more than five ounces. No one wanted dessert. The restaurant needs more vegetarian options, maybe a soup? And for heaven sake, somebody clean the globes on the light fixtures!!
We were celebrating my birthday. We shared the Fried Green Tomato appetizer, excellent. My son-in-law and I had the crab cake and a regular side of fries. My daughter had the shrimp and grits and the siracha fries. And we had the corn ice cream!!! It was all excellent! Service was also excellent. Definitely will go again, soon!!! Thank you, Firestone's for a lovely evening!
We were a family group of 5. We started with crab dip for the table, then ordered a variety of entree’s. The entree’s were a bit slow in coming, but we were in no hurry and it was First Saturday in Frederick, and the restaurant was full. So we made allowances. I ordered scallops, which turned out to be a generous serving and cooked just right. We’ve dined at Firestone’s before and love the food and the little extra’s from the chef. If you want quiet dining, Firestones on a Saturday evening may not be your place. But we love the food, the service, and the lively atmosphere.
We had a wonderful dinner with friends. Great location and wonderful service. The food was well prepared and presented really well. We had 6 different dishes and everyone liked them. The steak dishes were cooked perfectly and tender. The scallops were so large and seasoned well. The mushroom risotto was yummy! We were also treated to a cauliflower bisque and we all enjoyed the fruit and cheese plate. Desserts were good but not great. Sorbet was incredible chocolate cake and creme brulee were well done but the smores dessert was too much nutella soup and not enough crunch, mixed more Graham cracker butt the homemade marshmallow was so good but so sweet. Fun night but at 7 30 to 9 was very very loud. 9 to 10 30 less loud but still hard to hear across the table.
I think I expected a little more but overall it was a nice experience. Was in the city for a couple a days so glad I went.
Great food, bar was too loud.
Our meal was phenomenal, which it always is when we dine at this fine restaurant! The best wait staff ever works here--shout out to Chris!
Amazing menu and food. Beautiful atmosphere. Smiling people who know a lot about what is offered. Highly recommended.
Firestone never fails to deliver. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in the area. Everything is always fresh and cooked to perfection.
Another flawless meal at Firestone's. Excellent wait staff ( Olivia), amazing menu selections. Superb wine and spirits list. Food is delicious!! One of the places we will miss when we leave Frederick at the end of the year. A restaurant like Firestone's is hard to find and to top!
Really good food. Nice atmosphere.
Wonderful meal and service as usual
Love this place. We live in Annapolis and meet friends who live in Winchester - perfect in between spot. The bar has a wide-ranging selection, the menu is varied, tasty, and interesting. Topping it all off is attentive but not intrusive service. We were given lots of time to chat and enjoy ourselves. Of all the places we've met up in Frederick, this is definitely our "go to" place.
After 20 perfect meals cinnamon roll, changed to bread pudding style or just a mistake, Eggs Benedict, including hard eye ball eggs, ham I needed to trim, muffin that was cold and hard.
Servers said cinnamon roll changed two weeks ago. NOT - we were there last weekend and all perfect.
Server said chef left 6 months ago. Hard to believe since it was this week that everything changed, including putting half a glass of ice cubs in Orange Juice
Between food and misinformation from servers and no attempt to correct anything for 6 disappointed people we are not coming back.
It's too bad, it was one of our favorites for 2 years.
I had the 1/2 chicken. Amazing! Best I’ve ever had! Great window views to overlook beautiful downtown Frederick! Great service. One of our favorites for sure!
We had a party of four and ordered a variety of menu items - they were all excellent - the venison was a special treat, perfectly prepared and plentiful portion. The crab cake was large and all crab. Muscles, salad, and trio of hard-boiled eggs all very good. We had a table upstairs so the view was good and the noise level was reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive. Nice wine selection.
On the spur of the moment, my wife and I visited Firestone.
Seated upstairs on the balcony, we were treated to some very good food and service.
After ordering, we were greeted with a complimentary amuse bouche of slightly spicy tomato soup.
We then shared a heirloom tomato and burrata appetizer. Excellent.
A palate cleansing honey dew sorbet was refreshing.
She had a sea bass with couscous and asparagus, which was very good and the portion was too much to finish.
I had scallops with mushroom risotto and broccoli rabe. Also very good, and I did finish it!
We then shared an apple tort that my wife really enjoyed.
The only downside to the dinner was also due to the neat balcony location. A particularly loud and obnoxious group down at the bar made conversation impossible for the first half of our meal. Fortunately, they moved on and we were able to enjoy the rest.
I love the Maryland hospitality and feel of this place -- Having been here before I wanted to experience their brunch for my birthday -- The Fried Oyster Sandwich was Delicious. The Truffle Fries were amazing. Overall an incredible gastronomic experience, I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly, I definitely recommend this as a place to eat for any travelers looking for a great Brunch experience.
Great restaurant. Do not pass this one by. The food was top notch. Wide variety of menu choices. Well priced and great service. Ask for a table upstairs by the window! They were also very good allergy aware. Asked as we were seated whether anyone had allergies.
We went for lunch bringing out of town visitors...We had a nice table overlooking the street. Everyone ordered a different entree...pastrami, BLT, and French dip sandwiches. They were all generous and good. We started with a hot crab dip and yellow gazpacho soup for appetizers. Service was top notch and friendly.
We all enjoyed our lunch. The Spicy Tuna sandwich was terrific.
This was a special occasion, a birthday. When I made the reservation I noted this. No one did anything at the restaurant as to some type of acknowledgement. I even reminded the waitress.
Also, we were never even asked if we wanted dessert, which we did since it was a birthday lunch. The waitress brought our check and never asked about dessert.
I was disappointed in the service and felt that the servers were in a rush.
We had a wonderful brunch celebrating my birthday! Everyone loved their food. Service was excellent!
I even ate the VEGETABLES!
That’s one heck of a chef!
The food and service were awesome as always. My husband got the 18 oz ribeye steak; it is far better than any steakhouse. I had the scallops with mushroom risotto topped with a bacon tempura that is to-die-for! Their flavors are always spot on. We love coming here!
Always a fantastic dining experience. We have been going to Firestones for over two decades, and it just keeps getting better. A must dining expereince.
Always Love Firestone’s
I shared in my reservation the date was our anniversary. They presented us with a sparkling drink to start our dinner. Nice touch. Our serving team was very attentive in serving our tapas and clearing after we enjoyed each one.
Overall, an enjoyable meal. The broccoli rabe and vanilla bread pudding were my favorite parts. The apps were a little underwhelming (Better Avocado Toast and the Burrata).
I had the scallops and risotto - the best I've ever had!
It was still happy hour when we were there so it was still a little noisy from the bar area. Other than that the service and food was great as always.
Chris, our waiter was absolutely fantastic: great timing, nice rapport, kind, recommendations WHEN rhey were asked for, .....ALL good. Food was tasty as all get out! Scallops, shrimp and grits, covino and the crab cake were our 4 orders, and we were all over the moon about our entrees.
