Firestone's Culinary Tavern, opened in 1999, is located in downtown Frederick's picturesque Historic District. It is housed in a 1921 building that was initially the home of Shipley's Department Store. The restaurant combines outstanding cuisine with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. The Washington Post says, "the atmosphere is prime...the food is, too!".

There was careful attention paid to masks, cleanliness, separation of tables. Food was great and our waiter was very good.
Brunch at Firestone's was amazing! They have the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had and their hashbrowns are seriously mouth-watering. The service was fast and the portions were perfect. This is my new favorite brunch spot!
Meal included a thin slice of Veal. It was over cooked and approached shoe leather. Everything else was excellent
a beautiful venue with some history attached. The food (lunch) was wonderful (hot pastrami and clam chowder - the best ever). Plenty of space of spread out.
We went for brunch for my daughter’s birthday. The cinnamon buns were out of this world! Coffee is always good at firestones!
The bloody Mary’s were ok. Not great. The Eggs Benedict delicious, but the breakfast sandwiches were underwhelming. Her boyfriend got a lunch sandwich - the Rachel- and says it was great! My older daughter got the grapefruit-infused cocktail and it was perfect.
Atmosphere and service excellent as always!!
Great food and service! Our favorites were the baked onion soup and macarons. Will definitely return the next time we are in Frederick.
Another great dinner at Firestones. This meal was even better than our last meal at Firestones’s. We ate outside.
Definitely will be back.
French onion soup, baked oysters, and Wagu beef entree - all fabulous. Can't wait to try one of the beautiful new milkshakes - next time! Superb service - as always - from Kris Kiefert!
Great place to celebrate a special occasion! Sangria was delish and highly recommend the Crab Dip! Outstanding service!
This was my first visit to Firestone’s. The quality of the cooking in this restaurant-bar will surprise you— it’s really delicious and very attractively presented. The service was friendly and professional. The bar, as well as the interior of the place, are comfortably inviting. I will absolutely go back to Firestone’s. I hope normal times return soon so that the place will be packed upstairs, downstairs, and in the bar.
We arrived and were seated. Took quite a bit before we were first approached by a server. Which was the theme for the evening. Food was good, but seemed a bit overpriced. We sat upstairs which had a nice feel/view, but we were essentially in a pub with some fancy tables upstairs. Several other “pub-goers” would be heard shouting, but only twice? All in all not a bad place, but expected more.
We were at the outdoor seating. The staff was very attentive. The food was served in good sized portions and was delicious. I highly recommend the duck confit.
The only reason for the 4/5 stars on ambiance is because of distancing measures I’m sure. We were kind of in a corner without windows, view over the bar, etc. Food, service, and everything else was top notch.
Steak was outstanding. Meat and all the garnishes.
Anytime I’m visiting Frederick I must stop in for the best pastrami sandwich!
Everyone was perfect. They made sure all the food was safe for my kids who have food allergies too.
I love Firestones', the food is always delicious and our wait staff was top notch! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great night! Outside was perfect!
Love this place and visit it frequently. Hot pastrami sandwich is to die for
We ate outside which was really nice. The service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry so we didn’t really mind. Food was very good, very tasty. Great people watching too!!! Hope they can keep doing the outside seating into the fall!!
My wife and I were there to celebrate our anniversary and we’re very happy with the food and service.
The food was delicious. The quality of the food easily justified the cost. The waitress was very friendly.
My wife and I enjoyed lunch here. We made reservations and were seated promptly on our arrival. They had an excellent selection of high end Bourbon and other Spirits. Our server was pleasant and saw to our every need. Food was prepared quickly and was very good. We highly recommend this establishment.
We had an amazing breakfast! Between the four of us we tried just about everything in the menu. Amazing. The cinnamon rolls are so delicious!
Our first but definitely not last experience at Firestone. Wonderful brunch and Olivia was a GREAT server - allowed us to "visit" while also checking that we had everything we needed. She suggested to my gluten free friend that she get the pastrami "sandwich" without the bread and she was so pleased with it. Hope to return soon.
Great food with good service will definitely go back
The food and drinks were fantastic. Went for my friends bachelorette dinner. It was a great experience.
Good food, service, and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Filet with bacon, scallops, Mushroom ravioli. Oysters cooked
Alice was fantastic. This was our 6 year wedding anniversary. Firestone never disappoints.
Superb service - and the lamb chops were awesome! A perfect spot to enjoy a fine meal in downtown Frederick.
It was really good! Mushroom ravioli was excellent. Service was great, above and beyond, except I would ask our waiter to get all the coins out of his pocket. I could hear him jangling from a mile away! There’s a coin shortage, you know. Lmao. Had a great time, will be back! :)
Always love Firestone's and haven't been in so long due to the pandemic so it was such a nice treat and the food was amazing as always!! Thanks for a great night!
We were just passing through Frederick on the way back to Baltimore and picked this spot looking online. We were so happy we did! Lots of creative items for a lovely late lunch! Rockfish Ceviche was a great starter as were our Flyjack beers! Would definitely make the trip back to try dinner.
felt very safe and the service was as good or better than pre covid. food still rocks and drinks great.
Girls day of brunch first then off to a winery! Everyone enjoyed their food. We were a little concerned about the waiter wearing a face shield instead of a mask because he was next to the table right over us and our food and drinks!
There is no better time spent except through good food and good friends on this Labor-day weekend." Firestone’s has never let me down and this was no exception. The Wagyu Sirloin was cooked perfectly served with a potato Pave and Black Truffle Reduction. The service was great even with the restrictions.
