Firestone Public House Ratings and Reviews
We went early (4pm) and got seated immediately. Our waiter was great and never made us feel rushed. Very good beer selection. Pizza was good, fish & chips were good. Then there is the dessert. It's called OMG and that is exactly what you say when you see the size of the thing! Carrot cake around ice cream that is deep fried. I was eating for taste the whole time I was eating it and still found it hard to stop. Remember to park in the garage at 17th & L and they will validate your parking.
Server was terrible and not attentive at all and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Empty drink glasses all night and she took 10 mins to greet us after being seated. She delivered the WRONG drink to our table and after 15 mins of waiting we gave up and walked to the bartender to have her fix the right drink. The server has to go. Terrible service and a not-so-friendly attitude.
Showed up 10 minutes early for my OpenTable reservation but was told the place doesn't take reservations on Friday nights. We were seated in the bar area, which was loud (from the music, as one might expect) although made unbearable by the party of 3 screaming next to us. We asked to move when a dining table opened, but 50 minutes later the group next to us left and our food had arrived. Seems to be a lively sports bar with so-so food. The pizza was pretty disappointing (mostly crust with a very small smattering of toppings); the salmon was good. Decent beer selection. Perhaps a good place to grab a drink while waiting to meet up with people, but next time I'm in the area looking for food, I'll be looking elsewhere.
We were seated right away, waiter greeted us and took our drink order. Once we ordered lunch our food came in a timely manner and we were both happy with our choices of a Reuben sandwich and mixed green salad.
Location is wonderful, right between the parking garage and the Theater.
Ambiance was very nice.
We ate the Dine Downtown prix fix menu for 2017. Nice choices. The salad was lovely. Butter lettuce, mandarins, pomegranate, and goat cheese. The filet mignon open face sandwich was great and well received. The chioppino was flavorful but a salt bomb. We did send word to the chef. Each of us only ate half. However, the lemon panacotta with raspberry sauce and fresh berries was the BOMB!!!!! We gobbled the darn thing down in record time! I have been to this restaurant twice. Happy hour was also great and all those dishes were excellent! We had great service both times and prices are very reasonable. Noise level is comfortable even at happy hour.
This was our first time eating here. We were celebrating our adult sons birthday. We were there for dinner, but we early enough for happy hour appetizers and drinks. Fish and chips and the Ahi tostadas were delicious. The steak sandwich on the dinner menu and the southwest chicken salad also was very good. The service was friendly and prompt.
Looking forward to returning so we can try other items on the menu.
Walked by this restaurant on a Sunday lunch . Place was packed and there was a long line outside. Promised myself that I won't leave Sacramento without having a meal here. It was impossible to make weeknight reservations so made a lunch reservation on opentable.com.
Went on a Monday for lunch. Place wasn't busy at all. Service was very friendly and efficient. Ordered braised short rib - very tender and delicious!
Make dinner reservations way in advance!
This was the first time dining here and I cannot complain about the food because it was delicious. The service could have been better though. The server seemed very bored and not happy. she took our order and although we asked for specific things on the side we still got them on top along with outside. She didn't come to see how everything was so I wasn't able to tell her the mistake but I ate it anyways because I was starving. Afterward she did check on us and everything was fine I just felt rushed.
Made reservations even though it was for lunch. It was crowded but we were seated immediately by the window. The food was excellent. My friends have never been so they enjoyed the place. I have been there twice and love the food so far. We definitely recommend the place
The steak salad wasn't anything out of the ordinary - the steak was cooked as I requested however, there was almost no seasoning - quantity was good but the flavor was not and I though it expensive - other downtown restaurants do not charge as much for their steak salads
Really excellent beer list and draft system. Cool environment very open with lots of TVs for sports and old kegs for decor. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was good, except the arugula had a bunch of fibrous stems in it that were impossible to chew. However the steak sandwich, the fish and chips, and the beet salad were all very good (arugula stems aside).
