Wonderful dining experience including exceptional food and rustic ambiance. We will certainly return on our next trip to Park City.
Great and unusual food. The shrimp and grits was delicious. Even though the restaurant was full I didn’t feel crowded.
Wonderful evening with family visiting from out of town. The food is amazing!!! Come hungry. Service was excellent and the staff replenishes the food instantly so the presentation is always beautiful. A tiny bit loud initially with lots of kids but it was Spring Break and the ambiance quieted later in the evening. This will definitely become an annual tradition.

Good with kids
We love Fireside Dining at Deer Valley. I prefer to come with a group, but it is also a fun place for a date. The food is amazing. I love the raclette bar and the chocolate fondue, but the specials are always incredible. It is a lot of fun to go from fireplace to fireplace trying all the different options. Our kids (ages 5 and 8) had a great time and loved the food. Apparently there is a kids’ menu, but my kids found plenty of things they liked from the buffets. Come hungry!
We have enjoyed fireside dining for over 15 years. This year the salmon was undercooked, the lamb was almost raw and had to be recooked, the veal stew while tasty was a ridiculously small ladle, and at $75 per person plus gratuity dinner for 4 with two drinks and no coffee was over $350. That is an outrageous sum of money to serve ourselves. At $50 it was a better value and the quality of the food was better or at least better cooked.
Rather disappointed this year and regretfully will not return.

Very creative and interesting dining experience! The lodge is set up quite well for the concept and uses the assets to the utmost. Good variety and well prepared options. Appropriate sized portions are offered, given the buffet style meal.
I found the fireplace staff to be quite stiff and not at all engaging. Our server was earnest and energetic, but not up to the level of the restaurant.
Spectacular unlimited food and really nice people. Don’t miss the charcuterie and the racclette. The lamb roasted over an open hearth was phenomenal.

The idea of this restaurant is fun. However, with the price tag we had high expectations for food. The service was amazing.. but the food was just okay. It was very much an over priced buffet. If it was about 40 dollars per person, I would love it. But for 70... I won't be returning.

Comment: Please change the location!!!! It is in Deer Valley but saying Deer Valley Resort is misleading. It is at Empire Canyon Lodge!!!! Driving around in the dark with snow is no fun. Please fix that!! Thank you!
Family ski trip, the raclette meal reminds us of our trip to ski in Europe, but i think the firplaces trump all! Wow

Spent my 18th anniversary here a few nights ago. I was very impressed by the friendliness and engagement of the hosts and waitstaff. Very professional, but warm and engaging. The atmosphere is second to none. We arrived a little before sunset so we were able to enjoy the scenic views on our way up, and saw the last horse drawn sleigh of the day coming in for the evening. We then got to see the beautiful lights twinkling against the snow and icicles. Lastly, the interior just exuded mountain lodge elegance. We thought we had gotten the VIP table, but quickly realized that the layout of the restaurant gives almost every table both an outside view as well as being close to a fireplace complete with roaring fire and stone hearth. In spite of being a large place - it really felt like a nice cozy chalet. I find that rare these days as even "nice" places often still look very commercial and lose their charm. Anyway, wonderful winter environment!
The food. Very good as well. We went basically for the atmosphere and raclette. Both were amazing. I would make one suggestion to any reader who plans to go there. The raclette wheels sit by a fire and slowly melt onto a plate until its full, and the plates are stacked up and handed out to guests wishing to try. The only remotely negative thing I could say about this place is that by employing this method, our raclette was cold by the time we got it back to our table. When I go again, I'll ask the attendant to serve us right from the wheel where the cheese is hotter. Similarly, I'd probably get the accompaniments before I got the cheese so it doesn't cook while I'm selecting my sides. Lastly, the portions of raclette were huge - so I'd also probably ask them to cut it off early and serve a smaller portion. I'd gladly eat two rather than one big one that gets cold.
The other food was amazing, and most of it fire roasted as well. Go hungry - there's lots of food!
My kid loves the duck a lot. Everything is good there. Highly recommend.
Definitely a gimmick and expensive. Beautiful atmosphere. The meat station was not good. The lamb was very gamey. I would say the stews were the best. This is a glorified buffet.

Fireside Dining is fantastic! The food is always excellent and the service amazing. It’s a huge buffet so go hungry. It’s not cheap so it’s great for a special occasions. You need make reservations at least a few weeks in advance. It’s perfectly not too crowded. They fill up but don’t try to stuff people in. It’s an amazing experience.
I felt a little bit like in Sizzler, with good quality food and service, but when you pay this money you don’t want to feel like you are eating in a buffet - cafeteria, I would not go again or recommend, unless you are somebody who wants to staff yourself to death without paying the $, very kind waitresses
It was an outstanding evening. The ambiance and food were great. In true Deer Valley fashion every detail was addressed and well done.

Picturesque location and cozy!!
We have had a home in Park City for 10 years, but had never dined here before. We went with a couple that was visiting and thoroughly enjoyed. We have had lunch at Empire Lodge many times while skiing, but they really transform the space in the evening. The offerings are all all cooked over wood fires in the fireplaces, with 5 different stations around the lodge. The selections were eclectic, varied and intriguing. The Raclette station was amazing, we also enjoyed the short ribs, salmon, duck and lamb in our group. Service was attentive and professional, but you avail yourselves of the different stations at your own pace, which was very pleasant. We like to bring our own wine and the corkage policy is free for the first bottle and $20 for others which is pretty reasonable. We will definitely return.
Great venue and unique dining atmosphere
We went here for a very nice meal during our honeymoon and it was amazing!!! Great ambiance and service. The food was incredible. Definitely go back for more of the cheese!! To die for. They also gave us the most amazingly delicious fudgy chocolate cake as a complementary dessert!
The food is exceptional... and the place is beautiful
Our server, Reggie, was great. He really new the menu and made suggestions that we enjoyed. The two appetizers we ordered were excellent. They were the bone marrow and Caesar salad. The entrees we ordered were all a bit over cooked. Dessert was the bread pudding, it was delicious. The bar tender, Ryan, was also very nice. We would try it again.
Our 2nd time here. Good not great. Need more selections. $70 is a lot of food to eat-should include one alcoholic beverage for that price. Don't think we will come back. Lamb very fatty. Bison tips, Veal stew and Raclette very good. Everything else ok.
What a treat this was! My family really enjoyed FSD. It is an absolute must for anyone visiting Park City / Deer Valley. It was so enjoyable visiting all of the food stations and the food was excellent. Our waiter was a gem. Manuel M. Be sure to ask for his section. He had a wonderful personality and we wanted for nothing. The guy at the fireplace serving the cheese plates was so friendly and personable, we adored him too. What a treat this restaurant was. If you miss it while you’re in town, then you’ve really missed a treat. Get your reservations early. It is very popular. Roll Tide!

The food was outstanding. The service was beyond excellent. Our son is on a gluten free diet and he had plenty of delicious options on the well-labeled stations as well as the opportunity to order kid-friendly items such as a huge chocolate chip cookie, bread rolls, chicken tenders and fries. I’m not a meat-eater, so I enjoyed the fish, cheese fondue, salads, vegetable dishes (delicious Brussel sprout pasta) and white bean soup. My husband and our other two children loved the ribs, veal stew and carving station of turkey and lamb etc. All delicious!
