Fireside at Omni Berkshire - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Had breakfast there twice. Menu for food and beverages was good, but not very imaginative. Food was good, fresh and temperature appropriate. Service was extremely good - very attentive, but not intrusive. Our waiter was friendly and recognized us the second day, which is always a positive. Decor looks as though it could do with a fresh eye, both in general and in regard to upholstery. Tabletop accoutrements need attention! Salt, pepper, jams etc. were very sticky.
As the Fireside was at the Omni hotel we were staying at for a week, we at there four times. The first time we arrived around 11pm after a long drive from Niagara and were tired and hungry. The waiter was exceptionally nice and attentive. We ordered a pizza and Caesar salad to share. They were both delicious. The next night we had dinner there and had wonderful service and delicious food. I had the filet and it was perfect. We also found out that the owner of the hotel was closing Fireside and opening a new restaurant he is part owner in. I hope it will be as good as Fireside. My sister and her husband also arrived at the hotel a few nights later and we decided to have a late night drink and dessert there after the show. The service was bad, took about 20 minutes to get served, and the desserts were not tasty at all. A waste of calories and time. I ordered a chocolate martini and it was just so so. My husband and I then had our last lunch before heading out to the airport. The service was mediocre and things like my steak knife could not be found but the food was very good. Anyway, hopefully things will get back on track when they reopen. In the meantime, I feel it is a hit and miss restaurant which is why I rated them only a good.
I came here with a relative for her birthday and we were trying to find a place in the city that would accommodate us on short notice. Fireside was amazing. They quickly seated us and the decor was very festive for the holiday. Service was timely and the food was excellent. Small plates and main courses are very well priced for the ambiance. In addition, it was an excellent treat for the sous chef to come and check on the dining experience.
Been here two years in a row during our annual NYC visit. Every time I tell my husband the same thing - food is good, but the service is horrible. We waited 1 hour for dinner one night and another time it took 32 minutes to get a waiter to even take our order. On the plus side, they have a good kids menu.
Service and food were great. My son did not feel well and fell asleep on the super comfy bench and it was not an issue at all. They were very accommodating. We went there for breakfast the next day, too! The servers were quick to say that the buffet was the best value and also had the kitchen make eggs benedict for me to be part of the buffet. Not the best EB but the effort was there!
So first off this place is very pretty, rather small, but cute-its located inside our hotel had an amazing sounding menu since we were missing thanksgiving at home to visit new york with our 2 teenage daughters. The food was marginal at best and worlds slowest service considering there were not many people Dining here. We left with a $430 tab and unfortunately the food was a huge dissappointment.
I booked a reservation for us for breakfast here. My sister was having a dress fitting at the bridal shop across the street so it's perfect location for us. We had two children with us, so the larger space was perfect. I really wanted to love this place, but the service fell short, especially in the end. The server was neutral at best, not friendly at all. Which would've been fine if he hadn't charged us for two items we didn't even order, then took 20 minutes to get it off the bill and then to have another server try to argue with me about the prices being right. On top of that, I asked for a lemon with my Diet Coke which he didn't bring. I had to ask for that again and we asked for side of whipped cream with our waffle and pancakes which he didn't bring and I had to ask for again. Also, the Belgian waffle was not good, and for $20 it should be. I would not return to or recommend this location.
This was the perfect place for 5 ladies looking for some yummy bites, great drinks and a nice atmosphere. The lobster rolls were amazing. My ginger Cosmo hit the spot. The rest of my table was thrilled with their selections. I also really appreciate that we were given options on where we would like to be seated. Overall, this was my favorite meal of the weekend!
We went here for a Sunday brunch. It was very quiet, and the food was good enough. The selection was typical (which isn't bad). Service (coffee refills, for example) was not very good at all. For a very expensive brunch (even by NYC standards), I think the service should have been better--especially since it wasn't very busy when we were there.
Arranged a breakfast at the Omni for an important meeting, with a Saturday being the best day for us to meet. Good location, parking nearby, good reviews on various sights. Seated at a nice table, got into our conversation, and were given menus. We ordered off the menu - wanting to keep at our conversation - whereupon the waiter asked why we didn't want to take the buffet.
We replied that we were okay with the order we had made. No, he said, we really should take the buffet. I replied, I'm really interested in the nice omelet that was described on the menu, and my friend wanted the french toasts, which wasn't on the menu. No . . . . we really should take the buffet. He would have the omelet made the I wanted, and he would bring french toast, and we should go to the buffet.
I replied "okay, I give up, we'll go to the buffet." His reply: I don't want to be pushy. My reply: you are being very pushy - but we will go to the buffet if that can get our meal underway.
very strange encounter. The omelet was very good, and all the french toast disappeared from my friend's plate, so I'm guessing it was good to. And we had a good meeting.
And I'll go back - even on a Saturday. I'll just go straight for the buffet next time.
I have eaten lunch at Fireside many times and it is a comfortable spot for a business lunch. This time, the waiter got the order wrong and, after we raied the issue, he got nasty and then started avoiding our table. The manager eventually came over, apologized, and told us not to pay for lunch, it was on the house. I will consider this an off-day and an exception because I have generally been happy with Fireside, but I won't be bringing clients there for lunch in the near future -- at least until I feel I can once again count on polite service.
Spent Valentines Day at the Omni and we dined at the Fireside twice. Coctails at the bar were well made and the wine was perfect. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was also great. The service was friendly, prompt and had a personal feel. The weather was frigid therefore having a great eatery at my hotel was a bonus!
Had a reservation for lunch with clients. I didn't like the table Nd asked for a round or square for better conversation. Two managers, forgot names, graciously figured it out bad got us a wonderful private tBle. Food was greAt, service was great! highly recommend.
My husband and I met my friend at the Fireside in the Omni Berkshire for just a few hours before we had to leave for the theater. We were treated so well and the small plates we ordered were delicious - it is up there in price but well worth it. We will go back again when we are in town next year.
