Firenze Ristorante Italiano in Bellevue, Washington specializes in serving traditional Italian cuisine. The restaurant offers a cozy ambience with candlelit tables and soft opera music playing in the background.
Firenze Ristorante Italiano serves lunch and dinner and offers a variety of appetizers, salads, pasta, meats, seafood and vegetables on the menu. Entree selections at the restaurant include stuffed chicken breast, grilled quail, grilled lamb chops, spaghetti carbonara, ravioli aurora and tortellini alla panna. In addition to the food selection, Firenze Ristorante Italiano also offers an extensive selection of wine and champagne available by the glass, half bottle or full bottle.
The meal was very good as this is our 3rd trip here. It’s not exactly cheap by well worth it.
Given the volume of positive reviews, I thought it was safe to ignore the negative reviews about the food quality. I was wrong to do so.
First, the ambiance is pretty minimal. Arriving when the restaurant was nearly empty, we were seated at one of worst tables in the house pressed against a wall next to the kitchen. Okay, not the end of the world.
Second, the service was very good with a friendly and reasonably attentive server. No complaints there.
Third, and most importantly, the food ranged from adequate to actively bad. When the bread arrived, we were surprised to find that it was cold. Not room temperature, but like it had just been taken out of the refrigerator. Had the bread been excellent, it might have overcome this unpleasant serving temperature, but it was extremely generic. How can an Italian restaurant mess up bread?!? The entrees were all strangely flavorless and boring. I was frankly embarrassed that I had suggested that we try this restaurant. At a $25 to $48 price point for entrees, I honestly cannot figure out why people return here more than once. Wanted to like it, but none of us enjoyed our meal. Will not be returning.
Great food & ambience!
Very busy, but well run valentines dinner service. Super small waiting areas creates difficult situation, so go early. On non holiday nights I'm sure it's fine. The meal was very tasty.
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day meal. The setting was very romantic and the food was excellent. Salvatore and his staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Went there for Valentine’s. It was hard to find from GPS. When I called for direction, no one answered. I arrived 15 min late and was ushered to the ancillary dining room with no table cloth. It looked like a cafeteria table. It was next to kitchen and hallway when I specifically asked to be seated away from traffic. Dining room was noisy mostly because the managers flirting with patrons loudly in Italian. I learned that they were from Sicily. So I don’t know why the restaurant is named Firenze. Service was slow and inattentive. When I finally got my linguine I was shocked how anyone can mess up pasta dish so badly. It smelled like an old sock. I and my date hurried through the dinner and got out in a hurry to find a place for dessert to wash off the bad taste in the mouth.
It was delicious
Food was excellent and the service was attentive and professional .
Great experience !
Great meal, friendly staff.
Italian institution in Bellevue if you are in the know. We've been going here for 15 years. The northern Italian menu is outstanding and authentic. They use fresh ingredients. There are so many wonderful dishes on the menu but the Filet with Cognac creme sauce is my favorite. The Pollo Gorgonzola will be the best one you've ever had. Salvatore, the proprietor is fun loving and prideful of his establishment and treasured guests.
We love Firenze, and have been going since they opened so many years ago. The atmosphere is hushed, but the aromas coming from the kitchen are so tempting. Plan on taking your time, sip some wine, enjoy your company and the person(s) you are with. This about savoring the experience, not a dine and dash meal. FETTUCINE AL SALMONE is my absolute favorite. Enough for dinner, and lunch the next day!
WE have been patrons of this restaurant for nearly 5 yearsusing the passport card. But things have REALLY changed with their pricing!!! Although the Passport website states one free entree ( we had ordered a $45 steak, and a $29 seafood dish), they only deducted $22 off the total (on top of addubg the 18% gratuity). They also charged us $4 extra to spilt the steak with a child! On top of this we ordered a $35 wine, $7 salad and a dessert. They also charged us $5 for the bread. The pasta dish was not of the same caliber as other times, and my husband stated "it's not the same, they must have a new chef", stating it was not nearly as tasty as in the past. We will not come back....too many additional fees and not adhering to the Passport unlimited website discounts. WE are really disappointed!!!
My first experience with the restaurant years ago was great. The food was delicious. In fact I was so impressed I brought my employees to it. The experience last week was disappointing in terms of the food. The environment was good as always. My husband's food was so salty he struggled to eat it. It was his birthday so this made double disappointing. My mom's food was over cooked. My daughter hardly eat her food as well, although I can't remember the reason, I think it might have been over salted as well.
In a neighborhood shopping area...not scenic. The place is intimate and great outdoor dining on a warm evening. We had a pasta dish and a prime rib and both were exceptional. I will definitely go again.
Owner, an Italian national, was on the premises overseeing everything and was making sure everyone was 100% satisfied. We were!
Nothing special and my daughter found a hair in her food. I wouldn't return.
We chose to go to Firenze to celebrate my husbands' birthday with our daughter and her honey. The food was really very good and the service ( Tyler was our waiter) was terrific.
We had not been there for many years and were surprised at how few patrons there were for a Saturday night.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant used to be one of our favorites, and one that we would gladly recommend to friends. After our experience on Friday...horribly slow and neglectful service, and disappointing food (taste and portions)...we will never return. Service was so poor that we decided we would be better off getting our dessert from the QFC bakery. Top it off, they automatically added an insulting 20% tip to our bill. Did the old owner leave?
Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was excellent! (I especially like the eggplant parmesan and gluten free pasta dishes!) Firenze remains one of my favorites on the Eastside!
This was my first visit to Firenze Restaurant, but it won't be my last. They have an excellent wine list which is currently being updated and a variety of delicious entrees and small plates to satisfy every palate. I started with a carpaccio where the filet was sliced almost thin enough to see through... perfect!! This was followed by an excellent Gamberi Alla Diavola... with just the perfect level of spice and taste. I highly recommend this restaurant!
We brought a friend from Illinois who travels and eats out world wide. He loved it as we have for years and commented how nice it was to go somewhere so delightful and neighborhood like. The service and food are consistently delicious and we love the quaintness of it's neighborhood atmosphere.
Highly recommend the pasta dishes. Just amazing. Wine list has very interesting Italian wines.
We have been coming here for 25 years. It is fabulous, the food is exceptionally good, the service is excellent. A great spot for any occasion. This time it was for Mothers Day, and our family loved it! Give yourself a treat and try it. Full bar, great wine list, what's not to like?
We were looking for a reasonably priced, nice restaurant to take my mom and dad to for dinner. With our kids 5* is usually wasted so we wanted someplace that would also be family friendly.
Waiter was friendly and the service was good. Owner Salvatore and his wife came by to introduce themselves. Food was good to very good. It was a nice meal overall, with great wine, well mixed cocktails and overall a great experience.
For the price I would say that the value was outstanding. At $432 including tip and tax for 7 people, including wine seemed very reasonable for the type of food we were served. We are foodies at eat at Michelin rated restaurants regularly. While this restaurant isn't exactly in the same league it is excellent for what you pay for.
Try the tortellini. It's amazing!!!
Fantastic & flavorful pastas. We tried for different dishes and they were all very tasty with satisfying portions. Salvatore (the owner) was very gracious and friendly as he visited with us and other customers. He Made the experience extra special. Must try wines from his property in Florence.
We initially booked this restaurant due to Seattle Restaurant week and thought we would try a new place. When we arrived to a "strip mall" location we were a bit nervous. However, when you enter, you feel like you are in a little slice of Italy with paint colors etc. When looking at the full menu - we all decided to order from it instead of trying Restaurant menu. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I'm a bit new to posting reviews so did not give it 5 stars due to our wine selection - which really is our responsibility. It was not very good. We did ask for advice and were not steered towards a different bottle. Other than that- great night, great food with great friends.
Nothing stood out
Very attentive and hard working staff backed up by even better food. Never had a bad time or meal at this restaurant. Owner is always walking around interacting with guests to ensure his guests are enjoying their time at the restaurant.
We arrived on time for our reservation (6:30pm) and had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. There were two rooms. A front room with table cloths and nice ambience and a back room with fairly crude seating. We were seated in the back room. The server was lovely. They were already out of two of the items we ordered - which we didn't find out until after we got our appetizers. The food was fine. Very tasty. The wine list was good for bottles but it was very limited for wine by the glass. Plus the by-the-glass wine prices were much too expensive for the wines.
This restaurant is in the Crossroads shopping center, and Google Maps does not give precise directions. I had to call to find out then (they are near the theaters.)
I ordered a rather simple meal of salad and pasta. It was delicious. The salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. My pasta was a perfect al dente. They have a nice wine list with many reasonably-priced options, and we were very happy with our server's suggestion. Firenze is on my favorite go-to list of restaurants. It is suitable for an everyday mean as well as taking business colleagues.
Decided to take my wife to Firenze Ristorante to celebrate valentine's day. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and rogatoni al prosciutto, we loved! Highly recommended! Good service and romantic atmosphere.
This is a great restaurant but either open table or the restaurant failed to make the reservation properly and a bunch of people showed up with no reservation on the restaurant books and no tables available. Fortunately the owner worked hard to get us seated in about 20 minutes. Fortunately the food and service is excellent but it makes me wonder if the open table reservation system works all the time.
We made reservations for Saturday night thinking it would be less hectic than Sunday. Place was packed and walk-ins got the good tables while reservations were put at whatever was leftover. We had a terrible/awkward table. Food was perfect, but too slow in coming. We will eat here again, just not on a big holiday.
Lovely Italian atmosphere. Don't let the location fool you! Everything was delicious! Appetizers, Gorgonzola Chicken was cooked to perfection, the shrimp special was amazing, the Gnocchi was a more like a side dish portion but very tasty. the wine was a tad expensive but really complimented our meal perfectly. We finished with tiramisu, the lemon cake and espressos. A wonderful evening was had by all.
We chose Firenze to celebrate one of our friends visiting from NYC. Oh boy, everything was spectacular. If you don't want traditional Italian ambiance, food and service don't go there because in Firenze you feel like you are in Italy. The food is authentic and the wine list is fantastic. We ordered a ton of stuff and shared. Everything was YUMMY! Our server, Carlos, was phenomenal. He really took great care of us and made us feel at home. The place is very cozy and the romantic ambiance makes it perfect. I am definitely going back there for a date night :) Don't think twice, this place won't disappoint.
Wonderful meal, wonderful restaurant. You will not want to pass an opportunity to to dine here
The food was good and the service was good. They give us the wrong wine than what was ordered. I order a red wine and got a pink blush. Also was given a lunch menu and when I am ready to order the server away the menu and given me the dinner menu. Very unprofessional and a little bite disorganized.
This evening I wanted pasta with Italian sausage. Not on the menu but the waitress said this can be done. The Chef made a special dish for me and it was great! Been here many times and always good.
We have eaten at Firenze many times, it is our favorite Italian restaurant in Bellevue and the food is always amazing. It is worth a try, catch a movie afterward and explore the wine list, it is pure Italian heaven - Brunello!
My son booked a reservation at Firenze for his date to a high school dance. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet the wait staff ignored them. After waiting for 30 minutes, they left Firenze, went to the cupcake store next door, and had a much better time.
