About
I travel to MSP yearly to begin seasonal shopping and stay at Radisson Blu and eat at FireLake on Saturday. Each year the waitstaff have been excellent, fun and personable. We occasionally have had the same server as the year before. The food is good. The lamb, prime rib and bison are all cooked to perfection and the sides are varied and delicious. My wine list is excellent and my reds are usually decanted.
Walked out after 25 min.
We arrived for our reservation. Seated by the window, there were guests on either side of us, we observed that both were having issues. Our server did not come to our table until several minutes after we arrived. When he did show up, we each ordered a glass of wine. He came back to our table after about 15 min. and asked to take our order. I asked about the wine, and he looked like he forgot he took a beverage order from us and ran off. It was at that time that the guests on either side we telling us of the issues they were having. One table, one of the guests got their entree and finished it before the other guest got his order. The person on the other side said they had been waiting for a very long time for their order and were getting concerned about missing their flight. We decided it was not worth the aggravation and got up and left. We were hesitant to try this place again as on a previous visit, when sitting in the bar area, we observed the restaurant manager sticking his bare hands into the Potato Chip vessel on the service line and putting the chips in his mouth and then returning his hands back into the vessel. This one is off the list, won't be back.
Great service
First of all, we couldn’t find the entrance to their parking ramp, so we parked a distance away in a MOA ramp & walked over. Upon entering the hotel, we finally saw it. There wasn’t much signage to direct you to the entrance.
The restaurant was very attractive, but the food was not good.
Had a terrible birthday dinner here. Restaurant is beautiful but our server was very poor with communication and didn’t even introduce herself. We never even received one meal to the table and sat there waiting for one meal for 10 minutes just to be told it wasn’t coming and everyone’s food was cold by the time we ate. The restaurant manager went out of his way to send champagne and dessert to our hotel room but we will not be back unfortunately.
Wonderful breakfast. Gluten free options were great.
I ordered a walleye crab cake burger. It was crusted burnt brown/black Then I requested to get a new one came under cooked. Decided not to order anything else but butternut squash soup was good. And pumpkin cheese cake for my husband’s birthday.
Father / daughters brunch - family time.
Enjoyed the corn crusted walleye and medium done rib eye. Both were fantastic and we couldn't decide which one was better. Had some great suggestions on drinks/ martini's from our waitress. We will go back again.
Our waitress was outstanding....friendly, informative, attentive,
The ambiance was wonderful
The food was excellent and plentiful
Nice menu with a wide selection from steaks to seafood. I had the salmon special that was cooked perfectly. The popovers are a nice adddition. The wait staff was helpful in the dinner selection. We did not have any drinks or deserts. Had a nice booth with good view over the modern restaurant. I would retun next time I'm back in MN.
Great atmosphere and service but pricey for the food. Our meals weren't bad. I would come back for the atmosphere
The food was excellent! A little pricey for breakfast. I appreciate the homemade style entrees.
The wait staff was superb !! The alcoholic drinks were amazing. I felt like the pricing was on the high end but I would still go back. GreAt atmosphere and the salmon was delicious.
Enjoyed the restaurant was dissapointed that one of the main reason we came there was to experience the river rock seared steak that shows on your online menu was told by the waiter that it was not available only seasonal wish we would of known that ahead of time settled for a burger that was good but not what I was looking forward to other than than atmosphere was nice
Service and food delivery were very slow. Food was ok at best. Not terrible but not memorable. At the prices paid we would expect better.
Service was fine. Expected chicken salad to be more chicken breast. It was very sloppy to eat. Too much mayo and seemed to be mostly dark meat.
There was something sticky like jelly under the table that got stuck to my shoe. Had to try to clean it in restroom which then messed up the floor.
Nice atmosphere
Wedding anniversary
Mary Ann is excellent at her craft. She is knowledgeable and attentive
We went early after an airport pick up. Very open feel in a booth for 4 people, low noise level. Fantastic service from a seasoned waiter. Kids loves their wings and burgers while Mom and Dad has more sophisticated dinners. Amazing popovers! Loved the honey theme!
Although the interior was beautiful, the food was nothing to brag about. Bar grade food at 5 star prices
We enjoy a nice dinner here for sure once a year when we are in town!! Highly recommend. If you are coming to dine-they will validate your parking, so it's free!!! Nice bonus!!
Great birthday dinner with the family!
The food was excellent. The Hostess was worse than terrible, would not even talk to us or acknowledge that we existed. The restaurant ignored our wedding anniversary celebration. The server was knowledgeable and efficient
This was an amazing experience. Dinner was awesome, service was stellar! Shout out to Steven for the great recommendations.
This is our go-to restaurant! Consistently great food, service, and cocktails.
Don’t skip the appetizers- they are all excellent!
Food good waitress not very accommodating
Food was excellent. Water was luke warm. Odd! Service great.
Overall the food was average. Appetizer was great, main entree (Bone In Filet) was very fatty.
Great experience. This restaurant stands out from most of the common mall experiences (i.e greasy, fast food, tourist traps). It’s even physically set away from the mall, so you really feel you getting away from the chaos of the mall. The food was great- quality ingredients, well constructed/ prepared. The service was amazing! Our waiter was friendly, patient, and professional. Other than the ridiculously priced children’s menu (12.00 for a child’s meal!!)- not one bad thing about FireLake
The steaks were not good, neither quality or preparation, however, the apps were amazing and the staff did everything they could to make it right including remaking the steaks, even worse the second time, but they gave us dessert and did not charge for the 2 steaks. I would def return due to the wonderful service.
For the price, the food should have been spectacular, which it was not. The sea bass was a nice presentation, and tasty, however not worth the $29 price tag. The fries with the fish & chips were overly seasoned, walleye was delicious, as was the Mn salad. Heirloom tomato salad was very good also. For desserts, I would stay away from the strawberry rhubarb pie, which for its $10 price was certainly a tough, dry representation of a pie, obviously microwaved & tough, not at all the expected flaky crusted version generally offered for such a dessert. The mason jar peanut butter pie was good, same with coconut cream pie & chocolate cake.
The service was great at first, but once the restaurant became bust, we had a long wait for ordering dessert & coffee.
Although we alerted the restaurant at the time of reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, there was nothing offered by the restaurant for our celebration.
One would anticipate 2 hours for a meal but our 5pm start wasnt ended until 8 pm with how slow the servicw became.
This was not our first visit to Firelake at Radisson Blu, but it may have been our final visit. There are much better options in this city.
Atmosphere is beautiful but food is just meh.
My waiter ran my credit card twice - 1) for my bill 2) for another charge that wasn’t my bill.
My friends and I had a great time at the FireLake Grill House. The food was all amazing and our server was so kind, polite, and made a lot of good recommendations on the food/ordering. She was amazing. We've already made plans to have brunch there again. They have a nicely varied menu, the wild rice pancakes were fantastic! 100% would recommend this restaurant.
Everything was good except the chairs are very uncomfortable. There’s no back support at all and while my experience was good I would not return because of the uncomfortable chairs.
I mentioned when I made the reservation that it was our anniversary. Not a mention of it or anything show interest in our Anniversary like other restaurants had. Not a great menu to choose from. Food was ok.
We were seated at a lovely table with the panoramic window looking outside. The food was excellent and delicious.
The only downside was when we ordered dessert it took such a long time to arrive compared to the rest of the meal.
Great food, great service, great experience! Hidden gem at the MOA.
