The Firehouse is one of our favorite restaurants. The food and the service are very good. My only complaint is that they have changed the chicken from 1/2 chicken to whole chicken that serves 2 people. This was a problem for us because my husband wanted pizza and I wanted chicken and a whole chicken was too much.
Firehouse is in my neighborhood - walkable. We have been there many times. The food is always good but service is seldom acceptable.
Always a great spot for drinks and very tasty meal. Love the authentic atmosphere and the wonderful wood fire smells when you enter the restaurant. The patio is so enjoyable too, surrounded by the lush garden, strung with lights overhead.
The aroma of wood smoke is a heady, luscious ambiance to this spot. We enjoyed a lamb and fennel sausage pizza as a starter: savory and with a lusciously toasted crust. The broiled greek fish with spicy olives and fingerling potatoes was artful chiefly work.
I love this place! I feel like it’s a slightly undiscovered neighborhood gem, so a part of me wants it to remain undiscovered, but I also want them to do well, so here I am, sharing the joy that is firehouse.
Excellent service and great food! This menu pleases three diverse pallets.
Another great find! Eclectic neighborhood and restaurant. Food was good - shared the fish for two.
was very pleasantly surprised at how much we like this place.. had our name on a 2 hour wait list for another Restaurant....decided to give up on it...Fire House was our fall back choice..it was great..we sat in the front bar area..which i preferred..hostess tried to seat us in the back...looked small & dark & crowded..front by the garage door was perfection..will be back again for sure.
Always love this place.
Food was good and service was excellent. Will recommend it to friends.
We made a last minute reservation, got a great corner time. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable.
Wine was delicious and very reasonable, clams were amazing, and entree was delicious.
This is our third time there, and excellent every time
Delicious food served by friendly staff. We had a relaxed and yummy dinner. We will be back.
I really like the Firehouse. Great place for a date, it’s got a wonderful patio. A varied menu, great wood Fire Pizza.
Best meal I have had at this restaurant. This is probably my seventh or eighth time there. They do not have a good cocktail program and the wine list is small, but if those two things do not bother you, this is a great place for dinner. I used to think of this as an Italian joint, but last night we ate only small plates and they were all good.
I love it when a group of friends can get together to share a meal it's even better when sharing plates can add to the fun. Artisan pizza with a few small plates and your table will be in heaven. The Prawns are a must have and a great pairing with the steamers. Not just any steamers, these babies are sitting on-top of a major hunk of crusty house bread soaking up the wonderful sauce. The prawns have an touch of natural smoke flavor, a perfect match to the wood fire pizza.
A hit with friends, always a good meal.
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our two year anniversary and wanted to do something special and different. I LOVE using the scissors to cut your own slices.
My only complaint would be that the crust on the pizza was a little burnt.
Other than that, we had a great time laughing, eating, and drinking on the outdoor patio. It felt intimate even with a table of four (including two children) sitting next to us.
The Firehouse is a neighborhood restaurant for us and it never disappoints. The wood-fired food is great. Pizzas are delicious. Happy hour is short but good. House wines are a deal. A great place to go with friends!
Highly recommend the bandini (European sea bass) entree....lots of bones but absolutely delicious. The chocolate pot de creme is also a winner!
Wonderful food and nice atmosphere. Also nice outside seating area. Will definitely come back.
I love this place! And so do all my friends. Go there!
Excellent evening meal on the patio. Attentive staff. Efficient service, but not rushed. World class meatballs. Even the pizza scissors were classy.
Great food, they have awesome pizza, and very genuine and kind staff. Fun cocktails, good wine selection. Not a ton of beer selections but all they have are good. Wonderful place to go if it is nice out and you can get an outdoor table!
I figured Firehouse would be good, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We sat outside on a warm night and it was really nice. The greeting was genuinely warm and the service was great. We started with a salami pizza and it 'blew me away', it was hands down the best pizza I've ever had ('crack pie'), followed with probably the best pork chop ever! I had brought a bottle of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which matched perfectly. I would give my highest recommendation to this restaurant, and I will return often.
My friend and I ate family style, sharing the cauliflower, romaine salad, meatballs, and a ragu pasta dish. It was all delicious and the service was attentive, but not overbearing. We'll be going back!
Been here multiple times for the Hanger steak which is normally amazing beyond belief. This time it was incredibly tough and hard to eat. Staff is almost always incredibly friendly. Once in a while, there's always that kitchen guy who likes to look at the ladies a little too long but that's a kitchen guy for you lol.
the food and service was very good. The menu changes with the seasons.
Went with my kids. They loved the food, even thought it wasn’t “kid food,” which made me really happy. I loved the flavorful vegetarian options. Will definitely be back!!
I can ALWAYS count on having a memorable, spectacular meal. But remember to call for reservations, so you won't have to wait or be disappointed!
really good ambience and easy to talk. clams were delicious and all the food was good. i'll be back
The food was very good but the seating was tight. Sure, I was looking for an intimate destination, but I was not intending it to be with the strangers next to me.
This was our 2nd visit. Had a nice conversation with the couple at the next table. We each ordered one of the March Restaurant specials offered - which worked because we always eat 'family style' and tried everything that came with each of the 3 course meals. WOW! Very nice cocktails as well. Good pictures on the wall of the history of the building. The wait staff were in the groove.
Thanks for a great dinner!
We stopped in before a concert. They accommodated a quick service with great food, I wish it were more convenient for us to return, I would definitely make it a regular for me.
We arrived in time to have a variety of happy hour items. I think we probably ordered all of the items on the menu and they competed to be most delicious!
Great food and dining experience for a Birthday celebration with friends.
An old standby for me and the Mrs. Great ambience, authentic & reliable dishes, and wonderful craft cocktails. I'm not a wine drinker most of the time, but I'm sure I'd be even more enthusiastic if I were. Thanks again, guys, for a great dining experience!
Very informed and courteous wait staff. Loved the food - tasted authentic Italian. Will not hesitate to dine at Firehouse again.
Had hanger steak and beef brisket pasta. Both very good. The faux Caesar Salad is great. Space between tables is lacking. No privacy.
The food came so fast that we were served and done with the bill in under 40 mins.. which was a little short for our date night.. but was nice
We didn’t get our open table points for this restaurant.
Beautiful location in the old Dekum St. Firehouse. Décor was cozy and fun and the food was delicious! Meatballs were the best we've had and the wood fired margherita pizza was excellent! Wish we lived closer so we could dine there more often!
