Best for special occasions.. Worth for the price.. Food very delicious..
I would not go back to this restaurant. It seemed as though all the staff were in bad moods. No one smiled, the food was okay nothing special.

We had a family dinner tonight, everyone was more than happy with the food. Steaks, Seafood and Lamb were cooked perfectly. Even the sides were tasty especially the loaded baked patato. Our waitress was both attentive and friendly.
Our server was VATCHI and regretfully, we received poor to very bad service. No greeting, flagrant lack of social skills/language skills. I believe we were just unlucky to have him as our server. The other servers at the tables next to us looked friendly and professional. Food was great, wine selection very decent, very nice atmosphere. Will return but next time we have the server, will ask for someone else.
Filet mignon with goat cheese (table d'hôte) was good!
Price range was labeled $ but steak and seafood choices were more like $$ restos. The Keg is $$ with lower prices for better quality.
Great experience as always from pleasant staff and manager George . Celebrated ringing in New Year with family at resto and had delicious meal and ambiance . Will be back in more occasions in the future as convenient and good value
It took 30 minute for my server to finally take my order. My cheese bread arrived burned. The replacement came undercooked. My prime rib was supposed to be medium rare but was grey, dry, and chewy. The manager was not attentive and appeared bored. Perhaps he should have been paying attention to the poor quality of his food and service. I've had good meals at this restaurant in the past, but this visit is making me reconsider ever returning.
Food was mouthwatering ... ambience cozy yet professional. Staff were professional and courteous ... but aloof. I like the personal connection with the waiter or waitress when I go out to dine ... The waiter was efficient but cold. I usually leave a 30% tip but left less because of this.
A bit noisy for my liking and the food quality for the price was not there.

For a steak house, steak wasn't great. Barely salted, fries were off tasting (almost like caramel) hostess forgot to seat us with menus. Interior is nice and benches are comfortable. Waitress was on point. Pricey for what you get.

This was our first time eating at The Firegrill.
My wife and I both ordered from the Table d'Hote. She was able to add 2 shrimp and a nice salad plus coffee to her Filet Mignon entrée for only $2 more. Excellent value and she reported that everything was very nicely done.
I had the "small size" roast beef after an appetizer of a French Onion soup. The soup was excellent - hot, flavourful and full crock bowl size. The Roast Beef seemed bigger than the 10 oz. advertised, the texture was soft and the taste, buttressed by a house seasoning blend, was superior. Frankly, this is one of the best Roast Beef options in Montreal, and at under $30 including a side of home made garlic mashed potatoes, this entrée is amazingly affordable.
We had no room for dessert, but we'll try next time, and for sure there will be a next time!

Wait staff nice & friendly, want to be helpful but not trained at all. Ribs special served without coleslaw, waitress not aware of advertised special even though it plays on the radio a few times every hour! Been to this restaurant many times, overpriced for what it is, which is very average American fare.
Staff is very attentive and accommodated our request to move to a quieter area when our group thinned out. The food is very good, prices reasonable.

This was my first time at this location (I have been to the Stanley location before) Amazing food and our waitress Karolina was so helpful with the menu. She knew what was good, made great recommendations, pushed us slightly outside of our comfort zone and we LOVED it! Definitely will go back
Our family dined at Firegrill while on a short visit to Montreal. The reservation process (on-line) was very easy to complete. We arrived early expecting to sit in the bar, however we were shown right to our table. The server was very attentive but not overbearing, and the food was excellent (large portions).
Overall a great experience

I have visited both Firegrills in Montreal on numerous occasions and have had great experiences. This last one was the a big disappointment. We had friends in from Japan and wanted to impress them with a delicious meal in a very upbeat environment. The disappointment started with the waitress taking our orders for drinks. The Firegrill downtown serves an IPA as most restaurants do nowadays as craft-style beers have become popular. I then ordered appetizers for the group. That went well however the Calimari was a bit greasier than usual. While trying to eat there were flies and tons of fruit flies flying around the table, at times landjng on our food and wine glasses. The waitress took our orders for the the entrees. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to have my "go to" Prime Rib as I was told, a few minutes after having placed my order, that I wasn't able to get it rare or even medium rare. The waitress told me all they had was medium. I am very particular about the way my meat is done so I was left with no choice but to order a Rib Steak rare. To be honest the rib steak was not to my liking however I did not want to say anything as I didn't want to cause a scene.
Overall I have to say the service of the friendly waitress was the only positive of this entire meal. The greasy Calimari, the absence of an IPA, the inability to order what I enjoy most about the Firegrill and the presence of flying critters throughout the entire meal made this a very negative experience for me.
Overall, the restaurant excelled. However, the noise level was off the charts! The piped-in music was overly loud to begin with & as the place filled up, the patrons had to really raise their voices to be heard over it. There was also a lot of clattering & clanging coming from the kitchen area. Towards the end of our dinner, we could not hear each other at the table & were anxious to leave.
I think this restaurant is geared more towards the younger crowd & not people over 60.
Good food .... great service.... enjoy!
I always bring my top clients here. It's the only restaurant where it's homey and you can discuss without screaming.

Host its friendly and beautiful
It was a joint Mother's Day/my daughter's birthday celebration. Although the food was great, the cocktails were unfortunately terrible. We returned the mojito as it tasted like water, but as I get nervous at restaurants returning stuff, I did not return my amaretto sour, but I have to say it was one of the worst I ever had. Extremely small and with soooo much ice that it was so watery. Also, instead of coating the glass rim with sugar, they used a salt/sugar mix which was disgusting. Salt does not go with amaretto sour!!
My daughter also ordered something off the cocktail list, which was orange with vodka but that literally just tasted like watery vodka and she did not drink it.
Needless to say we did not order any other cocktails! Perhaps the bartender called in sick?? But honestly, although I love the menu, ambiance and while the food was great, I won't be going back for cocktails, that's for sure, as three cocktails ordered and all three were terrible and gross. Waste of money...

Food is good and menu offers a little something for everyone. The hamburger is juicy (but only one type of burger available). Beef is well appreciated by guests, and I do love the cranberry-pecan-goat cheese salad. Service is usually good, but I was a tad underwhelmed by the waitress this time around. Not sure why, could be that while I answered her questions she would only maintain eye contact with my boyfriend (this continued even with follow-up questions) and did not take care of wine service through the meal as we would expect in restaurants (namely, she just did an initial pour and that was it). When wine taster at the table commented that the wine was too warm, there was no offer to get another bottle, but she just brought ice cubes, which I would not put in wine.
Desserts were tasty, but pricey for the portion size, so be warned. For $8, you get a dessert served in a small mason jar type container that is not filled to the top. Good for a small portion to finish a meal, but if you expect to share the apple pie with churros, for example, you can count on getting about 4 bites each. The creme brûlée is good and a comparable portion size to that served in a traditional ramekin. The custard was not cold enough for my taste, but had a pleasant creaminess to it.
We had the lunch menu. The catch of the day was halibut and it was well prepared and presented.
The other choice was the classic hamburger and that was substantial but not particularly tasty.
Service was only so-so. Slow and not very friendly.
The Caesar salad was the worst I've had in a very long time. The lettuce was tough, outside leaves of the Romaine, not the lighter, more tender hearts. Dressing very mediocre. I actually sent it back. The baby back ribs were good. medicore fries
