Fun scene, amazing vibe, delicious food and drinks
The only thing I would improve (if possible) is the wait time. Though we've had reservations, we still wait a long time to be seated.
Overall, the place is great. However, there's always room for improvements. The music in the dining area is too loud, it is difficult to communicate with my date.
I came here to celebrate my third year anniversary, and I had an amazing time. Not only is the restaurant romantic, the food was delicious at such a great price. The service went above and beyond to make us feel special. I wasn’t expecting to have such a great experience, they even gave us a dessert to celebrate our love. Thank you to all the staff who made us love this restaurant. Will definitely be back.
Best Food, Best Service, Best Ambiance and the noise level was infectious! Fantastic Dinner with my Gal Pal! We will be back!
Good ambience...good drinks.
Gets loud later on but great food and service. Management probably thinks hip people like places that bump music at 9:30pm...
Best brunch ever with a lot
Of healthy choices . They also have oysters, crabs, steak, full bar open and lots more!
Upscale LA dining with beautiful ambience, excellent cocktails and superb food. Pricey but worth it.
Was there for valentines, food was not as good this time around, music was louder.
My wife and I love firefly, but we will never come back on Valentine’s Day. They added tables to maximize their profits and to minimize the first experience. The first tried to sit us inches behind the DJ. We were then moved to an added table in the pathway next to the bar. You can imagine how many times a waiter or passerby bumped into our table. One time our water bottle was almost knocked over into my lap.
The food definitely did not feel elevated. The seafood tasting appetizer course, for example, seemed lazily conceived and thrown together. My steak was cooked more than what I asked. And overall I was not impressed and very remorseful for having spent $150 per person.
Like I said, we’ve been here before and we consider ourselves foodies Who enjoy upscale meals. This was not that.
Went for Valentines Day dinner, the food and service were great.
Great experience. Went for Valentine's Day. Would like to try their daily menu. Overall great and friendly employees.
The food was ok, nothing outstanding. Very cute restaurant setup. Maybe just go for drinks and skip the food.
Terrible service for the pre fixed menu. Disorganized staff, poor communication, and the food was cold! Very unexpected and disappointed.
Went for the Valentines Day prix-fix dinner. Not worth $150 dollars. We were ignored for a long time and the food was below quality then we’ve ever had before at Firefly. I understand it was a holiday and it was very busy, but we felt very dumped with how much $$ we spent. Don’t go on a Holiday!!!
We have always enjoyed the imaginative menus here. However this meal was a wide miss at an attempt to do a special meal. The cocktail at the start was like a chocolate milk shake. The food was average. Not at all what we have come to expect from this kitchen. And the dessert was a very mediocre compilation of tasteless offerings with no imagination resulting in total lack of appeal.
Valentine’s Day special was excellent. Great food and great service
I liked a lot of Firefly the food was pretty good. Loved the frisee salad and the poke cornello. My lamb sirloin was fantastic. The one part of Firefly I don't understand though is the music. I personally like the music but I don't feel it felt very romantic and kind of felt odd having to shout at my date all night. Perhaps there is a purpose to this but I don't see it.
We had to sit in the library bar area which is nice but isn’t as quiet. But that’s because I waited until the day before to reserve a table. It was a busy night, but the food and service were still excellent. Firefly is one of my favorite spots.
It was for my birthday and they charged extra because it was my birthday. Usually restaurants gives u a complementary desert but they charges the customer. AND there was an automatic 20% gratuity just for a party of 3. Never again will I go there. It was a complete scam
Super romantic and cute. The food was really great. The scallops are amazing. I also liked the music they played.
I enjoy dining at Firefly, I love the ambiance, the waiting staff are lovely, and the food is always interesting and tasty. I just wish there were more light at the table. It is impossible to read the menu without a flashlight and then to see the food that is brought. It seems a shame when so much effort is put into the presentation of each dish that you can't see it! At least half of ones enjoyment in dining out is the visual stimulation.
Good food, service and ambiance. A bit pricey for everyday, but ok for holiday.
Firefly’s exterior is so profoundly non-descript, that you would miss the restaurant if not for the valet stand. Never having been there before, after handing the car over to the valet, we weren’t even sure where the doorway was located on the building’s vine covered front wall.
Everything changes once you enter. As your eyes adjust to the soft light, you find yourself in the bar area that is reminiscent of a old-timey speakeasy. You are greeted by the hostess and as she escorts you to your table, you pass through the bar which transitions to a library lounge.
The lounge gives way to a covered courtyard of sorts, with a central fireplace and tables romantically lit with Luminara-type candles. Along the side wall were cozy alcoves with dining tables separated by curtains. Overhead are iron lanterns suspended from beams, with filigreed sconces illuminating the viney interior walls. It feels otherworldly and magical.
The food is quite magical and delicious! We celebrated my husband’s birthday by ordering the Chef’s Prix-Fixe Menu. Our server, Kurt, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and, having mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and my husband’s dietary restrictions when I made the reservations online, Kurt was aware and made excellent suggestions to accommodate those needs.
The ambiance, the food, the service, and the effort the staff made to make our experience memorable definitely puts Firefly amongst our top valley restaurants. We definitely recommend this restaurant if you are up for an excellent dining adventure.
Unusual bar/lounge and wonderful semi-outdoor dining area ambiance and food for the eclectic palate.
If you love low lighting, high energy, and fine food, Firefly will ignite your evening!
I took my GF to Firefly for her birthday dinner. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. There were 2 guy hosts and a girl host with an ipad or tablet that kept walking around the seating area. After a while it got a little annoying, only because they kept on looking down at the table each time the passed by. The food was EXCELLENT for the price. We both a the pre fixed menu steak dinners. The ambiance was perfect. Low lighting with great music. ONLY DOWN SIDE, We sat at the very far back corner. They had these clear vinyl drapes/tarps down but we were freezing! They turned on the heat lamps above us but the one right above us did not turn on. It was at 48 degrees that night and unfortunately we rushed thru our dinner to get out of the cold. Overall we had a great time with excellent filet mignon. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner, first date, or a casual outings with your friends.
I had high expectations for this restaurant. However, I was extremely disappointed. The food was very mediocre. The noise level was through the roof. The place was also extremely packed. The service was okay. I would definitely never recommend this place to my friends. It’s just too expensive for mediocre food. While I was here, I never got the sense that it was the most romantic restaurant in LA. Lastly, when you order they make you get the same order as your partner. So basically you guys are forced to compromise and eat the same thing. Look elsewhere people.
Lamb ordered Med-Rare, came out well done. Short rib pasta was ACTUALLY ground beef with about 3 pieces of tough to eat short rib. You need to braise and slow cook short rib.
Overall the value was horrendous, of course you don’t come here for value...but it was so bad. $42 for two TINY lamb chops, after the bone...barely 4oz of meat.
Dessert was okay. Drinks, you typically can’t get wrong. Firefly was terrible for food.
My partner and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary here and everyone we encountered from our host to our server made it feel really special. The food was some of the best both of us had ever had and we got treated to complimentary champagne and dessert for our special occasion (: The ambience was very romantic and the design of the entire place was beautiful.
If some of the reviews has you concerned/curious about the noise level and ambiance of the restaurant I hope that I can help clear some of that up. I would recommend dining earlier (5pm-7pm) in order to experience the quietest hours as it does seem to get busier as it gets later. We dined at 8pm on a Friday and although it was loud and lively, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We are both pretty introverted people who prefer calmer environments but, probably because we are also in our early 20’s, the vibe of Firefly fit well with us. So if you are certain about wanting a quiet dinner date, a different place would probably better suit your preference.
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere and very pleasant service people. And goooooood food.
Great ambience and service - it was a good experience, but the food did not live up to the amount being charged for it. It was all over the map - some things were delicious (the meatball appetizer and the Mac & cheese), some were just bland and badly needed seasoning (the tuna tartare and the filets), the desserts were OK but kind of uneven (for instance, the chocolate cake that fell apart on the top and was so hard on the bottom that I almost asked for my steak knife back).
It’s a very unique and beautiful space, but I could have had 4 better meals somewhere else for the $200 it cost the two of us.
The food was amazing, the ambiance was good as well!
The service was really great, our server was so friendly
& he kept making sure that we were satisfied and made
really good menu recommendations! I will definitely keep
My server was wonderful, the manager was super accommodating and food was terrific per usual. I love Firefly and love bringing people here.
Everything was absolutely perfect! We are excited to come back again!
This restaurant is the best!! Especially for date night they set the vibe
Fantastic buffet brunch with a nice variety of savory and sweet and clever twists on cocktails. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the oysters which were small, fresh and sweet. Delightful relaxed and kind servers who keep your table clear and make a point to tell you not to rush. Music kept to a very reasonable level so you could hear if you wanted but could hold a conversation. We had such a wonderfully relaxed time together, we felt like happy puddles of jello following our meal. This is definitely one if the best values for high quality brunch in the valley and we will definitely be back!
Great service, Good vibe, Good food....
Overpriced, crappy service, and snobby clientele. Will not return.
Nice ambience, pretty restaurant, food ok but overpriced for the quality and amount they give you. Drinks ok, nice place though
