The menu continues to change - the new dishes continue to, honestly, blow my mind. The quinoa stuffed squash with cauliflower hummus... wow. The cauliflower flatbread, amazing. And, of course, the favorites still grace the menu- sometimes with a tweak here and there, they remain delicious - the fried chicken, the tostones. I have been dining at Firefly for 30 years and it remains my favorite spot in SF.

Overpriced a little. Some of the “regulars” were a bit rude for my liking. Good food and really nice staff, but I’d say the clientele is old and not very diverse.

The service was excellent, the menu appointed with great drink choices, lovely appetizers and a nice assortment of small and main dishes to enjoy alone or share with the table. Some delightful and unique desserts to share at the end of the meal. My party felt welcomed at the restaurant, which was busy, but we did not feel rushed in any way during our meal. Great venue!

Fabulous, beautiful food, made adaptable for special diets, with easily accessible info on ingredients. Staff is wonderful, and we enjoyed everything about our meal. We are outside with heater, so very quiet; inside is noisier, but not too bad. I highly recommend. I am gluten free; my husband is not. I am dairy free my husband is not.He loved the gluten free Mac and Cheese, and the Lamb stew is fab. Best salad dressing ever (green goddess)—rare to find it without being blown away by garlic. Flavors are brilliant.

We’ve been to Firefly a number of times and have always been satisfied with the food, service and ambiance. Last night, however, when we ordered on of our favorite dishes, the Cheese Buns, we were very disappointed. Is there a new pastry chef? The texture of the buns was heavy -leaden- and lumpy; almost incompletely baked. The cheese flavor was hidden in the doughiness. And the chutneys were oddly different in taste and stingily portioned with the indelicate rolls. Please, return to the old recipe! We considered mentioning the problem to the server, but we’re otherwise having too pleasant an evening to complain.

I went to Firefly with my partner for our anniversary. They made it extra special with outstanding food with creative flares. The ambiance and the service was impeccable. A very good place for a special occasions.

Outstanding seasonal menu. Service was attentive and kind. Very knowledgeable about ingredients and preparation. Window seating was very comfortable and felt private. We went with kids but also could work for date night.

Everything about it was great! I especially appreciated that almost everything on the menu could be made gluten free - not as an after thought or by excluding some great part of the dish, but intentionally - and made deliciously.

A plethora of options if you have food allergies! There were 5 in our group that had food allergies and I’ve never seen a restaurant more knowledgeable and accommodating. I had the fried chicken which is gluten free. I’ve been GF for 14 years and have never found such great fried chicken. Even those in our group who are not gluten free loved it! The service was superb, very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu.

We were disappointed. We've been experienceing great meals at Firefly, for decades. Last night was an unfortunate exception. The radish cakes were good except for the mushroom sauce that was way too salty. The salmon was in a messy goopy "chowder" that added nothing and wasn't eaten. The salmon itself was a very small piece. I'd asked for it being cooked medium rare and instead it was medium plus. The enchiladas were the best, but not rave worthy. I hope this is an anomaly and that we may again enjoy Firefly fully!

Sammie and Ellie were great with their customer service. It has been over 20 years since i returned to Firefly and plan to return since I live in the neighborhood. Firefly was buzzing at 6:30 p.m. on a Tuesday! We enjoyed every bite from the outstanding green salad with melons, the kampachi crudo tostadas were excellent and best part of the meal, and so was the Brazilian moqueca. The mochi baked bread with jam and pesto sides was super; the lamb stew though tasty and tender, was too soupy. The let down of the meal was the olive oil cake - burnt on the crust and cherry compote was too sweet for me. Maybe I should have tried the other desserts. Overall a very tasty meal and would like to try their next seasonal menu for the Fall.

Runners dropped food and spilled wine over us. No compensation for that mishap and then after our meal was over, sat for 20 minutes waiting for our bill. No one came and went inside to get someone only to find both our server and one of the runners at the bar. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants pre-COVID. We will not return - even my 9 year old said "I don't want to come here ever again". Bye-bye Firefly!

Virtually everything is gluten free so if you have an allergy to gluten you are in for a treat. Food is wonderful and it has a very welcoming atmosphere.

Great vibe, I am new as a vegetarian, and was so happy with the options that did not make me feel like I was missing anything. The seed bread is extraordinary. I had the enchiladas rojas, and my partner had the seafood combo bowl (not the name of it) and they were very delicious. We will make the trek from north beach again to eat in this delicious restaurant!

Great food. Great service. The menu changes seasonally. Everything was delicious. A great spot for those with a gluten allergy. Even if you don’t, the food is fantastic. It’s not an everyday kind of restaurant but one that we will definitely come back to.

Favorite San Francisco Restaurant hands-down -- I've been going there more than 25 years. I describe the menu as fresh Californian food, with dishes using seasonal fruits and vegetables. Vegetarian, meat, and fish options. Love that everything except one is gluten free. The outside seating is toasty with heaters, inside has a lovely ambiance. Wait staff is helpful, friendly, and attentive.

Our absolute favorite restaurant experience while visiting the Bay Area!! A cozy, intimate space that is perfect for a romantic evening and food that was as delicious as it was comforting. The wait staff was lovely and very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for a great spot for a date!
