Firefly - Panama City Beach Ratings and Reviews
Good food, good service. Didn't know you needed reservations. Tried to eat there and didn't have a reservation. It was a 2 hour wait, so we made reservations for another night. Still had to wait to be seated...even though we had reservations but only about 10 to 15 minutes. A little pricey, so would try to do the Early Bird.
Went on Valentines Day (and 10 year anniversary), service was busy (as was to be suspected). Ordered crabs cakes (very good), the valentines roll (for sushi), and scallops with risotto. After we received the delicious crabs cakes, we were welcomed with a sushi roll with salsa on it (menu did not describe this roll to has salsa). I questioned the waiter and told him I didn't think that was the correct roll, he said it was. Worst sushi my wife had ever had, she gave it to me. I started to eat it (I never turn away food) and spit it out. We then decided to just split the scallops. They were rubbery, way over cooked and cold like they had been sitting out for some time. It had the consistency of eating fat. Risotto was not cooked, many bites were crunchy. The atmosphere was great, the meal was horrid. If it was not Valentines day and out for a date we would have complained. We left paying $80 for food we did not eat. The waiter was aware we did not like the food, but did offer a "to go" box. We had been to FireFly multiple times, but I think this night may have ruined it for me.
I enjoyed taking my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day. They had a special menu for the evening and the food was superb. Our server did an excellent job in telling us about the various items they were offering for the night and the she crab soup was divine. I would absolutely recommend Firefly to any one looking for great cuisine paired with exquisite ambiance.
It was Valentines Day so the restaurant was very, very busy. Our meals were great.. service was awesome (Jessica) but the noise level was a bit overwhelming at times. We asked to be moved to a quieter area which they did and it was much better. We always enjoy eating at Firefly. Look forward to next time....,
We had been there before, but were disappointed that we were not able to sit in the dining room by the tree, due to a private party. It would of been nice when they called to confirm the reservation if they would of told us that. Also due to Valentines Day they did not have the Earily Bird Menu. So the prices were higher and a limited selection. It would of been nice to know that also for we would of probably have chosen a different day to go. The service was good and our waitress was great!
My table mates were all very satisfied with everything. Two of them ordered off Sunset Menu.
I ordered scallops and came only with risotto ($33) Asked if I could get a small house salad and the waiter said they don't sell that . I ordered the $8 salad and it was good, but too large. The Sunset Menu came with a nice small salad that I wish I could have ordered - and paid maybe $5 for. Thought for a $33.00 meal they could have accommodated my request.
Overall experience was great. The waiter was very good and knowledgeable about the menu. Very friendly. Food was great as usual. Now for the front they could be a little more cheery and a little more friendly. They tended to act like robots. Other than the great. Will go back.
Am a regular snowbird diner for winter season....we alway eat here about 3 or more times.....often bringing along friends .........the food, service, and dining room are very good and are comfortable.....love the early bird menu, because as seniors, we do not eat large meals anymore.....will continue to dine here and tell our friends about this fine estsblishment.....
The service was poor at best it took an hour and 15 minutes with him to bring anything out the appetizers were stone cold the soups were cold and had a gel congealed on the time and the waiter kept insisting it was the kitchens fault it is not the kitchen’s fault when the server does not bring out the food when it’s ready the server never did bring any food to our table it was the bus boy who did an excellent job
