Inattentive service from start to finish made our meal less than stellar (it seemed as if other tables around us were suffering too). Our brunch food was just so-so and the prices were as high as other restaurants in the neighborhood. I would choose to go elsewhere in the future.

Went to Firefly because of the good reviews. Our server Michael was extremely friendly & went over the menu wth my husband & I. We ordered the Grilled Artichoke to share for an appetizer which was not Grilled enough & was just mediocre. My husband ordered the Cioppino which he said was delicious . I ordered the Pot Roast which Michael said was one of the most popular items on the menu. The menu had it served with Grilled root vegetables which I asked to switch to creamed Spinach. The Spinach was delicious but the meat was not Pot Roast. It was actually a large Short Rib that was glazed but dry & stringy. I make Pot Roast which I slice & is juicy & moist. I don't know if we will return based on my dinner.

Two people in my party ordered the chicken dish and both of them described the dish as being too dry. Also, the trout dish could have been served with more food/vegetables. Overall, we were not overly impressed with the food for the price.

The restaurant cancelled my reservation after we already showed up and ate our meal. OpenTable was responsive and gave me the Rewards points, but it was disappointing.

A favorite place for a Valentine's Day lunch with a special friend. Food was excellent, especially the fish tacos and the very comfortable mac and cheese.

Good, but not great, and probably a little below average for the money. I enjoyed the meal, and the experience, but I feel that it fell short of a five star experience in DC.

We eat here every time we are in town. Always reliable for excellent service and food. It’s a bit noisy but not awful or distracting. Very good wine list and the menu changes regularly. This visit, Jeff was our server and was outstanding. We will always come back!

The service was really slow during Sunday brunch. It was unclear as to what the issue was (short staffed or new servers). In addition, our particular server wasn't very engaging. On the plus side, management did respond to our party's complaint of the service.

Stumbled into this place after seeing that it was advertised for restaurant week after Sax was fully committed to their reservations. The food was exceptional. The service however was lacking. The restaurant was not busy, so I could not figure out what the hold up was. At the end of our meal, my sister and I waited 15 minutes before I got up and asked for our bill. I would return, but I would probably just sit at the bar.

Enjoyed the ambiance and lively-ness of this delectable eatery. We had shared the cheese plate, several small plates, and the cioppino with an apple crisp dessert. The wine list was not long but with reasonable choices and interesting opportunities. Great date !

Came for 2018 Winter Restaurant Week. Service was pretty good in the beginning but as the restaurant got busier, it became harder and harder to get our server's attention, especially near the end when we were trying to get out check. The pot roast was delicious but I would pass on the apple crumble, it was at best lukewarm.

Nice place, excellent location, good service. Lamb chops were very small (4 of them), presented poorly, and incredibly salty. Bathroom needed some serious attention while I was there too. Yuck!! With so many great restaurants nearby, no need to try again.

management was kind to comp a dessert that did not reflect its menu description. Server need management to return our payment but never came to tell us why he never returned. We had to flag down the manager ourselves.

Firefly was amazing from start to finish, they had fantastic food (I had the lamb with pomegranate molasses) and the service was attentive and friendly. I had made a mention about mine and my boyfriend's anniversary in my online reservation and they gave us glasses of champagne on the house in celebration, which was beyond expectations. Definitely would go again!

Two southerns in our group (Georgia and North Carolina) agreed they had the Best biscuits we’ve had outside the south. Very delicious brunch food, we all loved our meals. Great decor and very nice wait staff. Highly recommend for brunch.

The food was very good but the service was not. Our server was polite and remembered our order but wasn't very attentive. We had to wave him over multiple times for more water, coffee, and for butter to accompany our bread (none came with it). The dining room wasn't full. Maybe he was the only server? But if so, he didn't say anything to apologize/let us know, which would've made us more understanding.

Went here for a business dinner since it was walking distance and was recommended by our waiter in the hotel we were staying at. I never write reviews but this was one of the worst meals that our entire party of 4 have had The pasta was so covered in sauce it was like wallpaper paste and the chicken was pink. Basically not edible. The ratatouille was awful according to my colleague. I had the shrimp and grits that was marginal at best and the wedge salad was bland with hard little pieces of bacon. The bread pudding with bourbon sauce was dry—how do you even do that? I don’t know how anyone could give this restaurant a good review or recommendation. It was just bad bad bad all around.

This was my second visit and it was only because I had underestimated the distance to a different restaurant and the kids were hungry. There were people inside, so I figured we could give it another try. Despite being understaffed, the waiter, busboy and hostess (cook in back) tried to be attentive. We had the bacon grilled cheese, the burger, and the caesar salad with chicken and a side of mac n cheese. It was unappetizing, and we had trouble finishing it. I barely could eat my salad, the chicken was gross and the dressing fishy. We love caesar salads. I try mac n cheese everywhere, this was just like packaged/microwave stuff with breadcrumbs. The burger was actually burnt on one side, we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked, definitely wasn't any pink. We will not give the place another try, surprised it's still open.

This is my first time here. We had to change our plans last minute and felt lucky to get a reservation for five. All went smoothly at first but over the course of our first thirty minutes service became increasingly inattentive. Appetizers of American cheese plate and deviled eggs were satisfactory, although I am continually frustrated at a portion size of three for the eggs. It always means someone has to pass. Confound it, serve the other half! Took a long while after appetizers were served with to regain the attention of our server. Finally entrees arrived. Smoked lamb chops had barely a hint of smokiness and were almost well done. Same for the rib eye, ordered medium rare, but cooked almost well. The accompaniments were good, fresh and flavorful. Desert of chocolate cake was very nice, enjoyed by us all. All together good and bad. Probably won’t come back unless I happen to be in DuPont circle in need of dinner.

Our favorite thing about Firefly was actually the design -- the indoor trees and firefly theme (bills presented rolled in a glass around a small light) were charming, and the acoustics actually contribute to conversation rather than making it impossible. The food was good but not outstanding -- nothing we had would really draw us back there, but we'd happily stop by again if we were in the neighborhood. Best of our selections were the mini potroast, the soup of the day, and the Infusion 33 cocktail.

The shrimp and grits were probably the best I’ve had. My daughter had the Wagyu Burger and truffle fries. She devoured them, and loved every bite. Very friendly staff.

We chose Firefly for dinner based on its gluten-free offerings. Our server was very nice and attentive. We started with the kale caesar salad, which unfortunately was very salty and had more a vinaigrette than a creamy dressing (in which case I don't think you should even call it a caesar salad - it certainly didn't taste like one). We then split the pot roast, which is still making my mouth water because it was delicious. Then we finished with an amazing raspberry sorbet. Overall a good dinner and I'd recommend Firefly.
