Firefly American Bistro Ratings and Reviews
So disappointed tonight! We ended up leaving after sitting at our table for 30 minutes having not even had our drink or food order taken. The host and server visited the three tables around us three separate times and stopped to tell stories, but wouldn’t meet our eyes or raises hands in an attempt to get their attention. What a bummer because the food is very good and we have been regular customers. We are seeking out a new restaurant tonight so our celebration isn’t entirely ruined. Our advice, skip the reservation and sit at the bar for some semblance of service.
We have been going to the Firefly twice a month for the past 18 months, ever since we moved to Manchester from a major city in SW United States. In short ...it was a great find for us which translates into our favorite restaurant in NH. We have never been disappointed. The Firefly is a “must” destination on a regular basis. Enjoy!
I have been to Fire Fly a few times. I did make a reservation but I was disappointed to see many booths open and we were seated next to the window with a huge draft on our backs causing us to wear our coats during dinner. I did ask for the booth once we were seated and was told "no sorry they are reserved'. This isn't the first time I have been seated in unusual seats when warmer/booths are available. First come, first serve with a reservation seems unfair to me to not be able to select a booth with a party of 4 yet we sat at a table for 6 leaving 2 chairs open... When I left the booths were still open.
We had a very enjoyable dinner, the service was excellent, the cocktails were great, my wife had the pineapple margarita and i had the Sterling Vineyard merlot.
The calamari and onion soup appetizers were delicious and served piping hot which i always greatly appreciated!!
My wife had the seared tuna and I had the steak tips. Both meals were delicious and once again served hot!
The meals were so large we had no room for dessert, and had leftovers.
The noise level was a little high but it was New Years Eve weekend so people were out celebrating!!
We plan to visit again in the near future.
The four of us walked over to Firefly from the SNHU arena where we went to see the Boston Pops. I loved how easy it was to find. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who promptly seated us. The menu choices were great. Everyone had something different from scallops to lamb shank and we all loved what we ordered. The salads were fresh and delicious. We didn't have room for dessert unfortunately but we had a fresh brewed pot of coffee. The service was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant but make sure to make a reservation early as it fills up fast!
Overall a good find. I selected this restaurant for the separate gluten free menu as I have Celiac. I was disappointed that they even listed french fries. There was an asterisk and thankfully I noticed. The note was that they don’t have a separate fryer. That means these are absolutely not gluten free! I ordered a vegan pad Thai and it was quite bland. Everyone else enjoyed their meals.
Met with friends before a show at the Palace Theater. The wait staff were all helpful and informative. Presented the specials and made recommendations. Our appetizer, Go Go Bread and drinks were served quickly and we enjoyed them before the meals came out. All our meals were prepared as described and were so delicious. The special Mahi Mahi was the best. Others enjoyed the Salmon and Steak Frites. We all shared the chocolate cake for desert. Moist and chocolatie. With red wine made it the best.
We will go back again.
Date night for a show at the Palace Theatre so chose Firefly for its proximity to the venue. Hard to find their parking lot but parking garage close by, with reasonable rates. Started with crab cake appetizer but drizzle on top did not look too appealing, although we were pleased that there was no taste of Old Bay seasoning to be found! Selected the mahi mahi special with parmesan risotto and could get the fish without the blackened seasoning. Risotto very rich and creamy, too large a portion to finish in one meal. Lobster stuffed haddock also covered in a rich sauce which did not make it appealing to the eye, but enjoyed by the diner. No room for dessert other than cappuccinos as the meals were so filling.
I wish that the food was consistent as a previous same order dish. They changed the ham in the eggs benedict to canadian bacon. The last two times I had that dish it was chipped ham. It made all of the difference. Please stay consistant with your ingredient items.
Made a reservation a few days in advance for two for an anniversary dinner. Arrived a hour early to have drinks and they said we could sit immediately. Hostess stuck us between two parties of 6+. I asked for a booth or another table because of the noise level. As she rolled her eyes she stated she would try and rearrange things. I noted three open two person tables and three booths at the time. Got another table which was a few feet away but away from the noise. Apps were good not great, Thai shrimp and cheese dip. The entree was better steak special. It is rated as a top romantic spot but I found it to be anything but. Wouldn't recommend for intimate dining.
First time here but a little hard to find at night. Food selection was good so we tried crab cakes (need to be more proactive checking dates and freshness). We had to send back for a new batch from another group and much better. First ones were definitely bad.
Tried eggplant napoleon that we never see or had. Very good. Otherwise, we would try again.
As it was our first time there we went with the basics. My husband ordered the filet mignon and wanted it done medium. It came out RAW in the middle and the waitress only came back once to check before we even had a chance to cut into it to see how badly it was done. My husband ended up not being able to eat it and even when she cleared the table and saw the meat still there (and obviously uncooked) she didn't even mention to him anything about it. Won't be back.
We went there for bunch and the food was excellent. Our experience diminished significantly based on the inattentive service provided by Temaira. Asked for egg whites and received full eggs. Was never offered a refill on beverages at the table. The bill took quite a while. Both of us felt like we were forgotten about. Other larger tables seemed to be more of a priority than just two people. I’ve been there multiple times prior and never had a complaint.
I booked this for the brunch, which I heard a lot about, but came on a Saturday and they only do brunch on Sunday. We ordered their go go bread which was AMAZING. They were nice enough to bring out some extra bread so we could finish the entire thing. As our meal progressed we went from the only table to the place being packed, which was nice. The service was only ok, we spent a lot of time trying to get the waitresses attention, but the food was great and would return for that.
Probably eaten here six or seven times, but was so disappointed this most recent. Can typically depend on welcoming staff, consistent food and great ambiance. This visit though, the food was bland and service distracted. We'll be back because of past experience, but hope this was a one off.
My wife and I have dined here before and the food and the service is always consistent.
We had Ruby for a waitress and she is really a true gem. Very personable and always checked
by the table to make sure everything was perfect.
I ordered Duck Breast for the first time there and it was done perfectly. We recently traveled in France where Duck is a very common menu item and Firefly hit it out of the park. My new "go to"
place next time I want Duck. My wife had the Haddock stuffed with Lobster. Superb.
The Martinis were perfect too. Thanks again Ruby and Firefly for making our Anniversary Dinner perfect.
