Firefly American Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Overall experience was exceptional. Food was delicious, service was excellent, great selection of food and drinks. Menu is relatively small but very diverse. Very busy - night before Valentine's day - service was prompt, bar service especially. Food was prepared perfectly - my Boston strip steak was a perfect medium rare, fiancés duck was moist and tender. Crab cakes were prefect as usual. Even the veggies were worth mentioning - truffled fingerling potatoes and broccolini were delicious and cooked perfectly. The shrimp bisque was heavenly. The ravioli (accompanied the duck) was a little too spicy for her tastes, though I thought it was a nice pairing of spicy and savory. Desert was equally excellent. Crème brûlée was some of the best we've had. Lemon cake was light and delicious. Can't say enough about the place! We've been 3 times now, never been disappointed!
The only thing to complain about is that I left the leftovers on the counter! What a waste!
Final note, it's not cheap, but for some of the best food I've ever had I think it's a relative value.
We chose Firefly to meet old friends we hadn't seen in some time. It turned out to be a perfect choice. The food was great, the staff attentive but very patient with our spending nearly two hours over brunch catching up with our friends. We've been to Firefly on several other occasions for lunch and dinner. This was our first time for brunch. It never fails to deliver. Excellent restaurant!
Went for first time last weekend. Go Go bread is to die for and so was the pork tenderloin! Boyfriend had steak that was also excellent. I pulled the (super) waitress aside to say it was my boyfriend's birthday. After the meal, she brought a slice of the most decadent chocolate cake ever with a candle in it! Love this place and will be going back for sure!!!
This place has a nice breakfast menu and super lunch menu. I've never had a bad meal here. Service is always friendly and proactive. Bloody Mary bar is expansive. Pleasant atmosphere - close to the Palace Palace Theatre so it's great before or after a performance. Reasonable prices. Would recommend!
We dined at the restaurant with another couple who had not been to the restaurant. We were greeted warmly, shown to our table immediately and met by Alicia a very friendly and attentive waitress. It was a great evening overall.....a little pricey but worth the visit.
Most of our party of five's experience will hopefully be forgettable. The service was so-so, but after 10 minutes of one of us brining delivered the wrong dish, and we had to send someone to find the waiter, we decided the service was less than desirable.
I had the blan murray's chicken - not recommended. The chicken was tasteless, the cauliflower base was tasty , so not all bad.
The pad Thai was so-so, not recommended.
Steak tips had a very unsuspected sweetness to them, and rather tough, not recommended.
Bacon wrapped steak. Underdone bacon and tough steak- not recommended.
The best part of the meal? Appetizers! Crab cakes very nice. Shrimp/grits was very tasty and a table favorite. The crawfish some liked and some complained about the richness.
Overall, we won't be back any time soon.
The large menu makes it hard to decide on what to order, but you just can't go wrong... everything is good. Desserts are equally good, and the coffee was delicious. It's a pretty place with the exposed brick walls and nice lighting (with Christmas lights added for the season). My only complaint is that the booth seats aren't too comfortable. They sit low as if all the filling has worn out. Since I am short, my mouth was just right for shoveling in the food, but I'd rather be a little higher!
The food was great and the service impeccable! Ever have one of those dining experiences when everything was perfect? From the appetizer to the dessert, recommendations were spot on, never rushed or left waiting, attentive and friendly waitress. ...highly recommend!
We had reservations for 5:30. No problem being seated a bit early. The food was delicious although not for finicky diners like my daughter. I would recommend though that they dust more often as the pictures near our table were overdue. Otherwise, worth a return visit. Good job Erika
We ate here before attending a concert at the Verizon Center. We came in from out of town and chose this place based on Yelp reviews and its proximity to the arena. We all (4) loved it very much! Our only complaint was the service was a little slower than we had anticipated. The tables around us seemed to be tended to in a much more timely manner. Our server was very friendly and pleasant but a bit on the slow side. Consequently, we were about 15 minutes late for our show. BUT......we would be back, most definitely. The food was absolutely outstanding!!!! The ambiance was charming and comfortable. Parking, well, is challenging and confusing at best. Would recommend better parking instructions and directions.
We love the food at Firefly. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. There are always new imaginative dishes loaded with flavor on the menu. The only thing we are not crazy about at this restaurant is the noise level. Depending on where you are seated and how full the restaurant is it can be very loud. The service is always exceptional though and when we asked if there might be a quieter table our server was very gracious and found us another open table that was not quite as loud. We will continue to go back for the excellent food, drinks and service!
This was our second visit to Firefly. We celebrated my sister's birthday as a foursome. Cocktails are unique, inventive, and delicious. Draft beer selection is very good. Food selections range from ordinary to extravagant. Our table ordered the ahi tuna appetizer, baked haddock with lobster stuffing, scallops, bacon-wrapped steak, and duck. All were very good. Service was slightly less attentive than we would have liked, and the food was considerably slow coming out of the kitchen. Atmosphere is somewhat noisy. We will visit again.
