Just found this place for lunch this week after attending the Monet exhibit. Went back Saturday for dinner. Great ambience, service and food. We will return when we are downtown.
The service was slow and uneven although the restaurant was not at all busy. Took a long time to get our drinks after we sat down. The server was irritable and dismissive. When asked the size of the entree servings he strongly advised they were individual (after we had inquired about the $4 split plate charge) . They were generous servings and could have been split. Have not seen a split plate charge for a long time. We we go out to eat my husband and I prefer to share an appetizer, a salad and an entree with our wine. The split plate charges make that uneconomical. I will not return.
Very convenient to DAM. Yummy food.
It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious and the service was fabulous!
My family of 7 (including my 2 year-old nephew) attended the Claude Monet exhibit at the DAM and then had dinner at Fire. Both experiences were wonderful!
We made a reservation for 6 through Open Table. We had to add 1 person when we arrived. The staff was able to accommodate our request. Our round table was in a lovely private glass room off the main dining room. Our server Tina was fantastic...one of the best restaurant professionals we’ve ever experienced. She was helpful, funny and attentive...and never had to write down any part of our orders. She remembered every cocktail, type of liquor and “special requests” from each person at our table of 7.
Fire is a gem of a restaurant in Denver. It is beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff is welcoming and upbeat and on top of their game. Thank you for a wonderful evening! Tina is truly one of Denver’s very best...bravo!
Went before going to the Monet.
Nice place, great ambiance. Nice friendly staff.
Love this place—staff and food and environment = perfect
We have been to Fire several times and have always had a good experience. We have never had slow service. The room, the outdoor area and the view are spectacular. We have been only for brunch so cannot speak to dinner, etc. Our food was good. It is a great place to take out of towners or for a meal before or after going to the Denver Art Museum.
Our second time dining here...this experience was amazingly better than the first time!
Our servers were nice, but it took along time to place and receive orders. Front of house seemed either short staffed, ineffectively managed, or both. The space was cool and the items we ordered were good, but service needs work before I'll return at the current cocktail and apps price point.
$18 burger should have been cooked to medium (as requested) and the bun should not fall apart (old). Service was okay but our server did not check on us. I probably won't return for dinner.
This was my fourth lunch here and I have to say the food (at least my portion) was sub par. My guests had hamburgers and fries which they said were okay. My dish was the kale and quinoa salad with grilled salmon. It came drenched in dressing which made it close to inedible. I’m not in the habit of complaining especially during a business meeting so I ate what I could. Most likely this was my last visit.
The Monet menu was perfect! Excellent value. It's one of my top "go to" places.
Hmmm. Beautiful setting. Impressed by the very small portion and I wasn’t looking for a doggie bag. At most, fish was 4 oz. Total lack of GF options. Surprising for such a nice place.
I would only go for the convenience of proimity to the Art Museum. The food at Fire is mediocre and the prices are aimed at something better than that. There was nothing bad, just not special at all. They asked if there was an occasion and then did nothing, said nothing for a birthday. Why ask then?
Very interesting menu. Variety of espresso coffees all day long. Beautiful surroundings and view. Perfect before or after a visit to the Denver Art Museum or the History Colorado Museum.
This is the second time I've met a group of friends at Fire and then took in an exhibition at the DAM. It's the perfect setting, the drinks are yummy, as is the food and we never pass up the sweet bar they have set up.
Love this place!
TripAdvisor reviews had said the service was slow when the restaurant opened, and our visit a year later showed no improvement. Our table was not ready when we arrived, and after being seated we saw no one for at least 10 minutes. We served ourselves water, had to ask for a wine list, and service continued throughout the meal to be slow and infrequent. I wouldn’t have minded a slow paced meal, but we were often simply ignored. Beautiful setting, adequate food for the price, but the service would bar us from choosing to go again
The servers were pleasant and attentive but the food took a little longer than expected and was just average. There were crumbs all over the chairs making me wonder about cleanliness. Not one of us felt we would go back for the food although the actual venue and views were very nice.
Attending the Monet lecture series at the art museum. We always have brunch at Fire before each lecture. Enjoyed everything. We really like our waiter Mihinda. However, chicken sandwich was dry.
Beautiful location with great views of the city. The brunch menu was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The staff we encountered were disinterested, rude and not friendly.
The appetizers were good, but the entrees were only so-so. It was noisy even though it wasn’t crowded. The s’mores bar was entertaining. The waitress was competent.
Expensive for mediocre food. Unusual, artful surroundings for $4.50 coffee and brunch for 2 with 1 bloody Mary apiece was over $100. Save your money and just walk around looking at the art and help yourself to free coffee just outside the restaurant
Great place to catch the skyline and enjoy great food after a day at the Museum!
We went to Fire after seeing the Monet exhibit in the Denver Art Museum. They had a special "Money Menu" of appetizer, main course and dessert with a glass of wine for $39, very reasonable for the quality of food. My dining partner and I had a delicious red snapper prepared Asian style. My first course of wedge lettuce with bacon dressing was also good. His chili appetizer was OK, but nothing special. Desserts were generous portions and the glass of rose was perfect.
We had lunch here prior to our visit to the Art Museum. I made a reservation since there were six of us and they reserved one of the private rooms with a round table which was extra nice. We could turn down the music too so we could hear the conversation. The lunch was tasty and servers are friendly and efficient. Food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen so you may need to plan ahead if you need to be somewhere after.
All was good except we did not get seated until 20 minutes past our reservation. The hostess gave us no updates & seemed to forget who we were when we finally checked after 15 minutes of waiting within sight of her on the lounge area.
Our food & waiter were great.
Terrible food and service at a high price. I assume you’re paying for the view and location.
Extremely slow service, poor food execution, awkward environment with no music.
Despite it being very quiet in the restaurant and 2 servers waiting on our table, we were kept over an hour waiting to get our Salads. Very disappointing.
Fire is located on the 4th floor of the Art Hotel. We had a wonderful lunch seated by the windows which provide a widescreen view of Denver. Servers were very attentive.
We made reservation for lunch before Monet Exhibit. The service was slow and missed our showing time but the museum was flexible. The company and ambiance was great. Next time I will allot more time or choose a less formal venue.
This is the second time we’ve eaten here but this time it was too loud and the food was mediocre at best for the price. The appetizers are for three people, we had four in our group. The appetizers were better than the meal.
They accommodated my special non-dairy needs nicely.
This was our first experience of Fire and it is a beautiful restaurant filled with light and wonderful views of the city as it is on the 4th floor of the Art Hotel. The service was excellent as was the food.
The Southwest Cobb Salad was really a Southwest Chicken Salad. The chicken was very tasty (If you like spicy, which I do.) but it definitely wasn't a Cobb Salad.
We had dinner here following a visit to the Monet exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. We chose the restaurant because of its convenient location. The restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. Our table by the window showcased the sunset. The entrees selected (halibut and hangar steak) were really well prepared. This place is a treasure and we will be back.
Good food, service and attention to detail was lacking.
