Booked for Father’
On Father’s Day I made a reservation for my family to surprise my father with somewhere he had never been. We show up to my OpenTable confirmed reservation to find a piece of paper on the door Closed for Maintenance! Really!!!!! How difficult would it have been for the management to block the day for reservations.... Thanks for the disappointment.
Showed up for our father’s day brunch and the place was closed. Would have appreciated a phone call or message before we all got dressed and drove there.
Reservation never occurred. They called me the DAY BEFORE to cancel my reservation. They said they were doing renovations. Not sure why anyone would decide the day before to close for reservations, let alone the day before Fathers Day when it’s IMPOSSIBLE to find another reservation with that short notice. I hope their improvements were worth it, but I won’t be returning. I’m sure I’m not the only person who had their plans ruined at the last minute.
Met up with a group of friends who had not seen each other in ages. Got seated on the patio. Unfortunately there was very loud live music and we could barely hear each other to catch up. Food was great, service was outstanding. Will be back, but will definitely sit inside!
Food was horrible all around. Not worth the money.
Food was really good. Would have given a much higher rating, however, there was a HUGE fly issue. We were swatting flies the whole time we ate. Was not a pleasant experience. The manager did come over though and explained that the constant opening of the doors, defective air conditioning, and malfunctioning fly capturing device were the culprits for the issue. He was kind enough to discount a small portion of the meal. This was appreciated. As noted previously , the food was good and we will go back....hopefully, without the fly issue.
We went out for a Mother’s Day dinner and a number of things made the experience not ideal.
The ac was out which made the restaurant extremely unbearable. When we were first sat down, we did not a waitress for over 10 minutes. I had my little girl with me and timing is important especially for a toddler.
We ordered a few drinks, nothing complicated but the bartender was flustered and the restaurant was not busy. The appetizers took a lot longer to get to the table and so once they arrived, we ordered our main food.
The food took a very long time and once it came to the table, we were not happy. The order was half right and I actually had to send back my pizza because it was lacking flavor and cold. Most of the dishes were half cold and didn’t leave our table of very happy. We constantly had to remind the waitress that they messed the order up or something was not provided and honestly I know it wasn’t her fault, she had to pick up the slack from the kitchen.
Overall, a few returns to the kitchen and a nice apology from the manager for the meal that should’ve been to celebrate family on Mother’s Day.
Hello Anonymous: Thank you for dining with us on Mother's Day. We have fixed the a/c issue but are very sorry that it was acting up during your visit. We definitely understand how important it is to get food out quickly with a young child and are so sorry that it took longer than you would have liked. We do remember speaking with you and again are so sorry that our kitchen made some missteps. We have been working diligently with our staff since to keep these issues from happening again.
We have eaten here several times but we were highly disappointed last weekend. The service was horrible and the restaurant was not clean.
Went for the Mother’s Day brunch. Service was good but slow. Food over cooked on a couple of meals while the other meals were cold. Not impressed with their Sunday brunch at all. Will not go back again for their brunch. Might try their pizza someday but not very soon.
Hello Anonymous: Thank you for your feedback. We will share this with our kitchen to make improvements. We appreciate your business and invite you back soon to try our wood fired pizzas.
Powdered eggs only for brunch on Mother's Day weekend? Dead flies on a sticky table. Overcharged from menu price for drink. Didn't stay. Left. Went to J Christopher's and had a great time.
Since I can't reply publicly to the restaurant response, I'll edit my review here: We were specifically told that the only eggs available were scrambled eggs. No other eggs were possible - poached, over easy, sunny-side up, etc. Why would that be? Turns out it wasn't powdered or liquid eggs, but the prep chef cracked all the available eggs for omelets, etc. and didn't leave any eggs for the rest of the menu items before a later Saturday delivery. (1) We were never told that. And (2) there was plenty of opportunity for someone to explain that. The egg situation was human error. Forgivable, of course. But a disappointment for our Mother's Day weekend Saturday brunch, and no solution was ever offered. We sat at the table for quite some time, finishing the three drinks (two mimosas and the overbilled sangria) we had ordered and waiting for the server to come and pick up the credit card. He never did. So we paid in cash for the drinks - decent tip and all - and left. The restaurant is replying that they "wish" that we had spoken to the chef or a manager. As if it was our fault for not pursuing it further. We expressed our frustration to the server. We cancelled our meals. Ugh. We are the type of customers who would have reacted well to a little bit of effort, but none was shown.
Hello Anonymous: I assure you we do not use powdered eggs. Everything we serve is cooked in-house/from scratch. Regarding the other items you mentioned, if there were issues we would have definitely addressed them. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to make it right but wish you all the best.
I was disappointed, I made reservations, in them I requested to pre-order their cardiac arrest and also informed the restaurant that it was my husband's birthday dinner. When they called to confirm my reservation they told me I did not need to pre-order it that we could just order it ulon arrival. When we got to the restaurant we were advised that they no longer had ALL the ingredients to make the meal!
I also told the waiter that it was my Husband's birthday and was disappointed that it was never recognized especially after telling both the waiter and also in the "special notes" section of the reservation!!!👿
The salad was AWESOME, we got the wedge!
The atmosphere is amazing and it’s a perfect place for a date night. The food tastes fresh!!
Pass on this one. With 2 small children for Easter brunch waited over an hour for food after ordering. Restaurant needs deep clean and better ventilation. Food a disappointment. $100 mistake.
Gail: We are sorry you to disappoint you during our brunch on Sunday. We will share your feedback with our staff in order to do better next time. We do appreciate your business!
Disappointed the fig/bleu cheese/arugula pizza I went for is no longer on the menu, but the pesto one we got was pretty good (could have used more pesto though). Artichoke dip good but chips tasted stale and not crispy. Very loud.
Hi CJ: We are sorry you were disappointed that we've retired the fig pizza. We typically do that in the Spring/Summer and bring it back for Fall/Winter due to the availability of Figs. Thanks so much for coming in!
First time at Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza & Grill. Went with friends for dinner and drinks. Glad we had reservations because this is a popular spot. The food, drinks, and, service was very good. However, I was disappointed the menu online had changed. No more fig and goat cheese pizza! New menu as of that night. Great place to go with a group or a date. The noise level was high, not so great for a quiet romantic dinner. The pizza oven put out a little too much smoke that night and all the doors had to be opened. All cleared pretty fast. We had a really good time. Will go back again and again!
Thanks so much for your review. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your first visit with us! And, the Fig pizza will return in the Fall when Figs are more in season. Thanks again and we appreciate your business.
I have been here but it’s been years. I was disappointed when we returned this weekend with high hopes of amazing pizza like I remembered. Unfortunately, it was not very good. We had the pesto prosciutto pizza and they accidentally added tomatoes. No prob I guess but now we had to pick them off. It was SUPER salty and the meat was rubbery. We had one slice each and the rest was wasted. The ground chicken caprese pizza was decent. It’s sweet so if you don’t like sweet pizza skip this one. The artichoke dip was good but the chips were on the verge of staleness. I had a white sangria that had no fruit in it like the one I had had in it years ago. Tasted like juice, very little alcohol. Overall disappointed and won’t be returning.
JenellP: Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We will be sharing your comments with our staff to make sure recipes are being followed. Thanks again and we appreciate your business!
The fig pizza is delicious!
Thanks so much! We appreciate the great review and your business.
We booked our reservations on OpenTable to celebrate my mother's birthday at Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza & Grill. Upon arriving, the hostess welcomed us but said they were not receiving OpenTable Reservations. She seated us and the experience began. Once seated we wait for ten minutes before the waitress ever came to the table, she was standing at the kitchen laughing and talking. Finally she came over and asked what we would like to drink. At that point, I said can we order drinks and appetizers and she took the order and went off. We waited another ten minutes to get our drinks and place our order. The appetizers and pizza was great. However, the birthday dinner for mom was not. She ordered a Ribeye and the meat was so tough you could not cut it. The waitress avoided our table like the plague and never asked how the dinner was or asked who's birthday we were celebrating since we had gift bags and birthday items on the table. She did not keep our drinks full. We did not have dessert because it took us 15 minutes to get the to-go boxes and ticket to pay the bill. I spent $150.00 on dinner for 4 and would have spent more on dessert if it was not for waitress. A manager was no where to be seen, never walked the floor asking how things were. This all took place on a Wednesday evening, I could not imagine this waitress on a busy Friday or Saturday. Judging by the reviews I have read on Yelp, it sounds like a manager needs to be on duty at all times and walking the floor to see how things are for the customers.
If they could get their issues resolved with staff, it would be great.
Food just wasn't up to par. Food was bland and just missing something. Will not return and can not recommend.
Love Firestone but I normally go to lunch with my husband and it's not as crowded. Met with 3 other friends for her 50th birthday Friday night and I have to say it was very loud we could barely hear each other. But always love Logan he as a great server and love the food!
Great meal but not its loud in there.
Chef Steve was amazing with our food, it was great.
Zoie was our server, the first time we have met her. She was spectacular and we will ask for her in the future. Great recommendations and wine paring. Thanks for a wonderful Valentine evening.
PS- The band was good, also.
Fred and Chris
Very much enjoyed our first visit here. Wait time (had reservation we were late 20 min for due to traffic) was minimal and the staff was friendly. The wood stove allows some of the smoke into the restaurant, so asthma sufferers might need to be aware but not bothersome on our trip. Wonderful place and look forward to going again!
We chose Fire Stone for a casual Valentine's night out. Overall, it was a pretty disappointing evening. The pizza was heaped high with good toppings, but the boring sauce left the overall taste of mediocrity behind. The live band (not sure if that's a regular thing or a V-Day special) was similarly banal. The dessert selection was when the evening hit the absolute low, though. We ordered the 'peach cobbler', but what we got was a can of peach pie filling dumped in a bowl with some burnt crumbs from the oven sprinkled on top. Literally. That is not cobbler, folks, especially not in the Peach State! Luckily, it's just a short walk down the street to Dulce for some gelato to salvage the evening. Until the chef ups their game, there are dozens of better choices in and around Woodstock.
I had the barley risotto with spinach and scallops. I love risotto but I have never had or heard of barley risotto. I wasn’t impressed with the barley risotto nor the presentation. The entree had spinach and it appeared as though the chefs sautéed my spinach in olive oil and when it was finished cooking it was pour on top of my risotto because the entire meal was swimming in a puddle of olive oil. It was all around the outside the edges of the risotto bowl. This was my first time and I don’t think I’ll be back or I will definitely try something different.
I really enjoyed my wood fired pizza from Fire Stone and my friends all enjoyed their food as well. I also loved the fact that they offer valet parking since Woodstock are parking is so difficult. My only complaint is that this restaurant when it is full of people is SUPER loud. I had to strain to hear even the person sitting next to me. My parents who are in their 70's could never come to this restaurant with their friends because they would not be able to hold a conversation. Not sure what can be done about this but it's the loudest restaurant that I've been to in awhile.
I was overall a good experience. It was surprisingly not busy for a Friday night at 7pm. Food was great. Service was excellent. Lighting was good. However, it was loud for our liking. Even if you were seated away from the bar, it would still be relatively loud. But then again, that’s just our preference. Honestly, we will probably return as the food is really tasty.
New Years - 4 of us, early reservation. Good atmosphere, good waiter, good jazz band duo. They had a specialty mojito that was delicious (but stopped because they out of mint...really? Go buy more at the store!!!!!) We had seafood nachos and steak special. All food good but the steak was REALLY fatty. It was 14 oz, 6 oz pure unedible fat and I should have, but did not bother to send it back. . If not so fatty, would have taken the rest home. Appreciated that the owner checked in on us (it was right when we arrived). We have eaten here before and will return.
One of our favorite places to eat for lunch and dinner.
We went here for my grown daughter's birthday brunch. The food is soooo goood! So many choices it is hard to decide. They brought her a birthday dessert also. Comfortable seating, large patio. Valet parking if you can't find a place.
We went for brunch and overall we were disappointed. A lot of long delays between hearing from our server, even before we had our first drinks and it continued throughout our dining experience. She was unaware of the price for the bloody mary bar and it took a long time for her to get that information, didn't know what the soup of the day was, etc. It took a very long time for us to get our drink once we ordered it and she said the bartender was "backed up". Did I mention that the restaurant was practically empty? We were one of 3-4 tables. The food was ok, but nothing noteworthy, especially for the price. Disappointed, because I want to love this place like I did when it first opened, but it has changed and not for the better.
Was a good experience although had to send burger back because it was raw when I asked for well done. Tasted my friend's salmon and it was very good, however a little expensive. Glad they took reservations. First time for my husband and friends
While I've dined here several times, unfortunately this was a bad experience. The server forgot my salad and then when my husband's prime rib dinner arrived it was cold and undercooked. It took almost20 minutes to get our server's attention and by then he was so frustrated, he sent it back and asked it be taken off our bill.
She received our complaint well and offered for us to speak to the manager but we were ready to end the evening by then. I would come back for drinks and a bite but my husband will not return.
Great pizza, nice selection of beers on tap. The ambiance is warm and inviting, nice place to eat and watch the game!
Incredible wood fired pizza! Phenomenal salads! Grilled wings awesome
We sat for an hour waiting on our food then it comes out cold. We send it back and it is still cold when they brought it back and we still had to pay for it. We will never go back there again.
Good food, great service, reasonable price and entertaining live music!
Restaurant was filled with smoke when we got there and was very unpleasant. I made a comment about it and the hostess just smiled and gave no explanation. Food and service was excellent.
Great neighborhood place to go. Food is outstanding and service was excellent. Kudos to Logan for taking care of us.
