Fiorino Ratings and Reviews
To a UK visitor it felt like a regular venue for most of the guests. If I lived in Summit I'd very quickly become one of them.
Impeccable food. The tuna tartare and monkfish we're both memorable. Service was efficient and unobtrusive.
And the Negroni was near perfect.
The only reason for not giving a poor overall is because we had a gift certificate...if not for this, every item (sans Ceaser salad and one cup of coffee ) would have been returned.
Each item ordered was totally unremarkable with no noticeable effort by the kitchen to deliver anything more than the bare minimum of a creative or their differentiating mark...Let us just say they marched through their efforts, much like marching through a DMV visit.
Wait staff was neither adored or scorned, though getting my post dinner coffee refreshed was not in the cards...regrets there as this was one of their best dishes.
I can remember thinking as I drove past the Summit Diner on our way home, how much more i would have enjoyed an evening there.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary here. The restaurant, food, and service were great! I would definitely go back again.
The only issue was having to wait for ~20 mins despite having a reservation because they didn't have an available table. However, in their defense, it was a busy Saturday evening, so I would excuse them for it.
Wonderful service and excellent food , the branzino was delicious , my husbands lamb shanks were cooked to perfection ...our appetizers were great too , the fried zucchini and almond crusted calamari . Had a great evening with friends , and the service I shall mention again was extra attentive !
very noisy , while the service was good, it was overbearing and seemed to want you to hurry. salad and bread good. wine list very limited entrees poor fra diablo shrimp very bland. clam sauce poor. sea food had aftertaste. the manager offered a free meal but not worth the price.hopefully they will donate to a food bank. CAL
Dinner was excellent but we had a corner table for 6 in the back room.
We were under the speakers and the music was much too loud to the point of being unpleasant.
We asked once if music could please be turned down.
It was but we had to ask again...
other than that, a great experience!
Overall, my guest and I liked the restaurant. While the food met our expectations, the service seemed somewhat abrupt, giving us a sense of urgency. This was totally different from the Hosts who were professional and friendly. In fact, one of the Hosts accommodated my wait by going to the bar on my behalf for a glass of wine. No doubt, this was impressive which of course, I expected would be replicated during dinner. Indeed, we will return in the near future.
We had a nice dinner with friends. The arugula and goat cheese salad and calamari appetizers were delicious. The veal scallopini was delicious. We asked for a special desert of ice cream and expresso. The staff was gracious and made it for us. It was excellent. We will be back.
First time at this restaurant that I heard great ratings on. First and last I must say. Service was absolutely terrible. Paper menus that look like they're from a deli. Waiter didn't even ask if we had any questions on the menu items. No attention to water. Had to ask 3X for another bottle of sparkling water before it was brought to the table, but quick to try to push another bottle of wine! Food was just OK at best. Veal Chop was small, chewy and not top quality. This restaurant wants to be a NYC place with NYC prices....NOT. I will not return.
Excellent food and service! Great wine selection. A bit noisy and crowded/cramped so don't even think intimate conversation - but then it was a Saturday night! We're out-of-towners so won't have the opportunity to try it during the week when it might be a quieter. Would recommend Fiorino's to friends.
Food was excellent! Waiters were friendly and attentive.
The only owner I know is John and he is a real gentleman. Overall a good experience. My only complaint is there bread is no good, to soft, needs a good old school italian hard crusted golden brown thick crusted bread! Bread from either Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Newark, NJ.
