Very good birthday meal. Turned out to be the last night before DC and MD closed all restaurants, so it wasn't busy.
Would recommend to anyone and do recommend for a special occasion.
Family get together
incredible food. advice is to try everything
We enjoyed our dinner and our server, Carlos, was superb. He made recommendations since it was our first time to the restaurant , and we are so thankful that we took them! The calamari was delicious, and you should keep your break for dipping in the sauce. Looking forward to coming back next time we are in town.
Excellent lunch with a view of the Potomac. We highly recommend Fiola Mare and plan to go there again!
My sister and I enjoyed one of the best lunches we have every had here. Totally delicious and enjoyable on every level! Hope to be back soon.
tried this waterside restaurant on our trip to DC, we could only get a late reservation for our party, but it was worth it, we sat outside under heatlamps overlooking the water on an unusually warm March evening, the ambience and the decor of the restaurant is beautiful. I had the tuna crudo followed by the branzino, both excellent, the rest of the party had the duck and said it was amazing. Wine selection was good, I was happy to find a good glass of Verdicchio. We had the chocolate mouse and the donuts for desert, delicious. A lovely evening with good quality food and wine an service, would definitely recommend and visit again.
Beautiful venue! Fabulous food and service! Top notch!
Friend’s Wedding Day
It was great overall experience and service was great! The food was tasty and satisfying and I would recommend others to join the experience.
We had such a wonderful time!! The ambiance was sophisticated but not pretentious...the food was excellent and fresh...we left totally satisfied and happy with our experience...looking forward to coming back soon!!
Just a spectacular dining experience! Our dinner started with some show stopping cocktails (one set on fire and another smoked to perfection). We had the consistently excellent seafood tower followed by fish filleted at table side. The dessert was surprisingly delicious. Service was flawless.
The dining room is inadequately illuminated. I could not read the menu until the waiter brought a light pad. The recorded music was loud and not classical, as I would have preferred. The food, however, was superb. I will bring another guest or guests when the opportunity arises.
Incredible food. Great Service.
Wonderful value for the set menu lunch and beautiful service.
Do not miss this Georgetown jewel! Always an outstanding example of fine food and culinary delight! Excellent and fresh calamari, shrimp, and lobster makes for a feast of the ocean. Thanks for another wonderful experience. You are a goto for me when it comes to a great meal and experience.
This was my first time at Fiola Mare. The ambiance, location, service and drinks are outstanding. I was mixed on my meal. The grilled calamari and scallops were fantastic but the beat salad and burrata were not at all please to my palate. In fact I returned the beat salad. So a mixed bag for me. I will come back again for drinks and the service but will need to try something new for my meal.
It's always exciting to dine at Fiola Mare. The ambiance is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the food is unique, and generally very tasty. On our last visit we ordered three starters, which were all delicious, two items from the grill menu and one pasta dish. The grilled calamari was excellent and plentiful, the prawn over pasta was tasty, but the langostino was very disappointing from two perspectives. First, it was not very flavorful, and second, the price charged was a bit over the top. We ordered two, one for each of us. Each langostino provided about a half a bite of tail meat and cost $20 apiece! We don't mind paying a bit more for high end gourmet food, but this particular item was over the top ridiculous for what we got. Overall, we had a great evening, but this particular part of the meal left a bad taste in our mouths.
The cocktail, beet tartare appetizer, and scallops were amazing. The champagne an excellent accompaniment to the dinner. The sherry - so, so. The wine list is extensive and great reading if you are dining alone. Take a friend if you ever want to do a sherry or port tasting as they have a nice selection.
Our selections, our server and the sommelier were all outstanding. It was a perfect way to celebrate a very good friend’s birthday. Thank you
While the service and ambiance was really good, the food was the star. Great dining experience!
Wonderful, as always!
Alexandre was a superb ambassador for the restaurant.
My server was knowledgeable about the menu and so very helpful in making my decisions about selections for the meal. He was attentive throughout, without ever becoming overbearing.
The food was delicious and beautifully plated.
I tried the hamachi crudo and the seared scallops! Both were divine!
The manager was also so nice and welcoming. She came and checked on me during dinner and gave a warm farewell at the door.
This was my favorite meal during my trip to Washington DC! I definitely plan to return on my next trip to DC!
The staff made my 1st wedding anniversary wonderful. Thank you
I didn't realize it would be so very slow. I should have fed my husband beforehand. The setting was lovely, though.
Everything was excellent from the moment we walked in the door, to the moment we left. The service was impressive. The food was exquisite.
Impeccable service and food and extremely accommodating. Our waitress went above & beyond to make sure we had an excellent overall experience.
The service and food were inconsistent. The drinks took forever to come out. The oyster infused vodka cocktail tasted like straight vermouth. The duck parpadelle was inconsistent, my husbands egg was undercooked while mine was over cooked. His also had truffle shavings while mine did not. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but were cold when it arrived and the dish lacked flavor. The music was very loud, it was impossible to hear the other person at the table. At this price point, I expected a lot more.
the service was terrible.
the main course took at least 40 minutes after we completed the first course.
The service is impeccable. The food is delicious. And the wine list is a gem!
Perfect place for leisurely Saturday brunch/lunch. As always, food and service were outstanding.
Sepfania and Sharif ensure your complete satisfaction by constantly - but unobtrusively - circulating the restaurant. Reserve a booth by the window or a small intimate table by the bar for the very best sensations. The branzino shines every time as does the charred eggplant, char and tuna tartare - and everything else. Can’t go wrong but be prepared to pay for the best experience in town. Bravo!
An absolute treat in food and atmosphere! Can't wait to come back to DC and dine here again.
Wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere, and amazing food!
This is definitely a splurge, but well worth it. While I am not usually a fan of Lobster Ravioli at most places, it is a MUST here. It is pricey but wonderful and absolutely perfect. Service is amazing and every touch is elegant and well executed. Our amuse was a ceviche that was delicious; salad of Radicchio was unlike any I've had before and looked like a piece of artwork.
While we almost always stick with seafood here, we decided to try the Duck and it was perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious and the cherries had been in a marinade of almond, a perfect complement to the duck.
They have a great wine list including one of my favorite small vineyard Russian River Pinot Noirs, Failla. They serve by bottle or by the glass.
We also split a Tiramisu which differed from the traditional at other places but the biscuit on top and the gelato, on top as well, were a lovely complement to the cream and cake below.
This is one place my wife and I love to go for an anniversary or other celebration. It has never disappointed.
This is one of my favorite restaurant of all time. I travel for work and have been to many great restaurants. This is the best thing about going to DC. The flavor profiles speak to me.
Fiola Mare welcomes you with a most beautiful atmosphere and the most gracious people. Its menu is not only delicious but appropriate to every season.
Arrive early any day of the week and have a cocktail and fried calamary in their warm patio. That is my favorite spot winter and summer.
Rose Spritz is the drink you want to try to remember your time in Italy .... if you’ve ever been there.
If you have some time make sure you request a table by the window facing the Potomac and enjoy a delicious dinner enjoying some of the pasta dishes.
If you just want to have a drink after a long work-day remember this is one of the only spots in town in which after hour starts again around 10 pm.
