Food was good but waitress was awful Had to ask for rolls. Had to flag her down for another drink. Just not very attentive or friendly. Fish tacos were good though

Took my sister who was staying from out of town for a thank you dinner for watching my son for a few weeks. We were seated promptly outside right at our reservation time, which was our request, so that was good. It is a lovely view. I had a good glass of Rosé while waiting for my husband to find a parking spot. Parking in that area is awful. Especially when you have a large truck. When he finally got to the table he ordered one of the local IPAs. When they brought him the beer it was definitely not an IPA as it tasted like Budweiser. Turns out that the taps were incorrect and the beer he ordered was gone. He had to get something else. They also ran out of kids menus so the waitress said she was waiting for more to print, but then she forgot to bring them to us. Luckily most kids menus are the same. Chicken tenders was an option so that's what my son got. The shrimp appetizer my husband ordered was good but incredibly small for the money. For dinner I ordered the Halibut special. The fish was great but the asparagus was so tiny it was laughable and the rice was mush and inedible. My husband ordered the Halibut, Cajun style, and they brought him swordfish instead. He was starving so he ate it anyways and luckily it was decent. My sister ordered swordfish and she thought it was ok. The service was just ok (waitress was pleasant but didn't seem very attentive) and very slow. It's a shame that this location is so good but it's just not as good as I remember from years past.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was recommended by a friend, but didn't seem like much when we got there. And the prices seemed high for what I thought the place would be like. But the food was excellent and worth the price. I had the tuna (seared) and my friend had the mahi mahi special. Both we excellently prepared and plated. The tuna was perfect. It cut easily with a fork and was just seared enough to get about 1/8 inch of tuna cooked through. The mahi mahi was flakey and not fishy tasting at all.

Overall, this was a great meal at a nice location.

It was very enjoyable. We had an option between inside or the patio, we choose the patio. The food was amazing. Never had a lobster as good as theirs. The service was friendly and quick. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our meal. I had the entree of the day which was a mushroom risotto and Hake. It was delicious. Our server was phenomenal, making numerous suggestions about what she enjoyed there. She also gave us directions back to the train station. I would definitely go here if I ever find myself in Salem again!

Love Finz and always recommend it to friends and colleagues. However, this time was disappointed. Server responded to everything with "No problem" (that phrase gets irritating after a while); although mentioned in the reservations and again when seated that it was a birthday (my father's 93rd!), server brought the check when we finished our main course ("Oh! You wanted dessert?"); seemed anxious for our party of 4 to leave although restaurant was not full. Not the welcoming environment I usually experienced in the past. Food was great, but service, not so much. Hopefully this was an anomaly.

It is a good business lunch place for me because I am a vegetarian and they have the best stuffed vegetarian burger I've found in Salem. Since most of my colleagues are omnivores, Finz is a reasonable option for groups with varied diet preferences or requirements. The fries were good, but only warm by the time they arrived at our table and the coleslaw was OK.

Oysters were very small for $3.25 each, expected bigger. Could hardly taste them. Lobster ravioli $27, had lots of lobster pieces was very good. Filet of sole $20, on cheezy mashed potatoes was good but sole was very thin. Sat out on the porch...very delightful. Hot Bread was delivered at very end of meal so we used to app up the ravioli sauce.
