Fantastic dinner with friends. We hadn’t been there for quite some time….we thoroughly enjoyed everything that we ordered. Fantastic oysters - very fresh and full, excellent seafood salad (although it lacked the mussels that were in the description) and grilled octopus. For entrees we had baked stuffed lobster, sesame crusted tuna and crab stuffed haddock. Every dish was cooked perfectly and very good.

Oh boy, where to start. I was excited because I read quite a few good reviews on the place. The food was incredibly subpar, which was really disappointing, especially considering the dollar amount that we spent. Highway robbery. The oysters were stringy and mushy and I’ve had better sushi in rural middle-America. Unfortunately that’s not an exaggeration. Location is cool. That’s what was good about it. I would not recommend this place.

I miss the old Finz. I used to go all the time and now I’ll never come back. What a disappointment. Neglectful and indifferent front of house. Warm martinis. Bland overpriced food. Sushi was fine but not amazing. Horrible “ambiance”. It’s so basic now. Only good thing was our waitress who seemed to know she had to make the best of a bad situation on a Saturday night where they were either understaffed or just didn’t care. Upset with myself for being unaware of the changes or else I would have never booked my birthday dinner here.

Visiting Salem for a few days and we had to go to a seafood restaurant at least one night. I saw Finz was highly rated so I made a reservation. We got the baked Brie appetizer as well as the bread and butter. The baked Brie appetizer was good but extremely small for the price. The bread and butter were literally store bought rolls that had been reheated with prepackaged butter. Not terrible but definitely not the best bread and butter, and definitely not “whipped butter” as the menu states. My partner loved his salmon dish, I got the bacon bleu filet and was not impressed. The steak was cooked to a perfect temperature but the portions were small (I finished my entire plate and I rarely do that) and the “red wine Demi glaze” was NOT a red wine demi glaze (it tasted like A1 steak sauce and vinegar mixed together, that’s the best way I can describe it). I brought this to our server’s attention and she responded with “sometimes the cooks mix it free hand, I hate it when they do that.” And offered no remedy. The creme brûlée was great though. I personally would not go back but it wasn’t a terrible experience.

We had a great table overlooking the water. The food-I got the spicy maki sushi roll- was awesome. Everyone in our party cleaned their plates! Additionally, the key lime pie was delish! The service was friendly, efficient and knowlegable.

Great location, My server was great. Clam chowder was delicious then I ordered a stuffed lobster for $52 it was awful, I should have sent it back ! It was overcooked and my tail was maybe 2 inches . Extremely overpriced! I've had better from shop rite! My spouse ordered a sole dish that had a very odd flavor! I would recommend only getting very casual food from the restaurant. Burgers sandwiches, etc. I was very very very disappointed. I had these reservations for weeks ahead and was very excited. Unfortunately I would not recommend.

The food was great, restaurant in a good location. When visiting Salem again we would return. Recommend to consider going at lunchtime as it's on the water so better views of the harbor during the day.

The food was excellent. This was some of the best seafood meals I have ever had. At the start of the meal the services was great. Then our server disappeared. I had to go look for her.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved Finz! Beautiful location along the water, friendly & attentive service, and excellent food! My boyfriend had the Cajun Shrimp and I had the Lobster Roll (warm with butter); hands down the best lobster roll I’ve ever had. I could not believe the amount of lobster meat (See photo)! This restaurant is definitely a must if you’re in or near Salem!

Finz has great meals at a wide variety of price points. You can get great bar food, local beers, and a nice variety of appetizers, but you can always go for fine dining. The location on the water is very appealing and the servers are attentive and hard working. Jennifer served my party of 4, and we had fish and chip sandwiches, some PEI mussels, and beers. We were very happy, and shared an exquisite crème brulée for dessert.

This restaurant use to great! Food was amazing. Now in the last few visits I'm not understanding why it's not at the level is was and portions are horrible to where it use to be ... It's still beautiful place and drinks aren't bad but the food unfortunately has dropped ..

Everything was wonderful beautiful location right on the water, staff is very professional and the food is amazing. Only critique I have since it occurred on two separate occasions is the mixed drinks are VERY STRONG, and I enjoy a stiff drink so if I can’t drink it that’s saying a lot. Beyond that though I recommend and speak very highly of Finz especially people visiting from out of town.

All in all, it was one of the best places that we dined at in Salem. The lobster roll was one of the best we have ever had, with tons of quality lobster. Our waiter, Walter, was friendly but very efficient. I was just a bit disappointed that they ran out of the sea bass special. I would definitely eat there again.

It was just ok. It’s strange to me that this place is so highly recommended. We had a reservation and I initially tried to extend it an hour and it showed no reservations available, but when we got there the entire restaurant was practically empty. Food wasn’t that great and the margarita I ordered was so bad I couldn’t even drink it.

Great experience at Finz in Salem. Service was good, food was great, and we were in and out within an hour. I had the Crab Stuffed Haddock and my daughter had a Crab & Lobster Sushi Roll. Both were delicious.
