Cute little restaurant! The hostess was very pleasant and welcoming and we were seated right away. Our server was also very friendly. We ordered appetizers, soup, and our meals. Appetizer (calamari) was good. Took a bit longer for soup to come out. Clam Chowder and Crab Bisque were both really tasty! Our meals were slow to come. Took almost 45 minutes after we ordered. Thankfully we had the appetizer and soup. We had 1 seafood alfredo, which was good and had plenty of seafood, 1 halibut, which was also really good, and 2 NW trios (salmon, halibut cheek, & crab cake). One of the NW Trio looked and tasted great. The other was room temperature at best and looked thrown together. The bread for the table was soft and delicious. The serving sizes were good and we were too full for desert. The room filled up while we were there but never seemed loud. All staff were friendly and readily available for refills. I would recommend this restaurant to others and would come here again myself.
This was our first experience at the restaurant and I was excited because it was the first time we chose a place based on an Open Table recommendation. I had the special of the day which was potato wrapped sea bass and my husband had the northwest trio. Both were amazing! Our server was friendly and upbeat and the overall attention everyone paid to us as diners really elevated our experience. My only criticism might be the overly dense creme brûlée but it was still very flavorful. We will definitely be back!
Fins is a real favorite of ours. We are season ticket holders to Village Theatre and always dine at Fins afterwards. The service is warm and friendly and the food is always very good. They offer creative cocktails with theme names corresponding to each featured play and offer "sippy cups" so you can enjoy your drink while watching.
They didn't have any air conditioning when we went so we were uncomfortable. Most were eating outside. The waitress we had was extremely busy so our service wasn't very good. My dish was wonderful but my husband had the halibut and it was over cooked. Won't be back for awhile and only on a cool day.
We love this place, but last visit the food was not up to the usual standard. I expect fresh seafood when dining at a place which prides themselves on it, so no soggy mussels please.
We will try it again soon, it may have been a once off thing, lets hope so as we like coming here.
This is the second time I have been here in less than a month. The first was by myself for a quaint lunch outside. This time was for a special birthday dinner with my date. I highly recommend this place and plan to come back soon. Great service, good location, and incredible food.
The crab bisque was exceptional. I had the duroc pork and it was delicious. My husband had his favorite peppercorn NY strip. The bread pudding was delicious. My only complaint is how I always eat too much because it all tastes so good! The owner always comes by our table to personally thank us for coming and make sure we're happy. Fins Bistro is our go to restaurant for an elegant meal that is affordable and friendly.
We have been there twice this week. Lunch was great and it was very quiet with nice background music. Nice menu and I wanted to try everything. Then we took a friend to brunch on Sunday. OMG! I had the crab cake eggs benedict.....The eggs were perfect, crab cake was perfect, the sauce was perfect. Enough said. We will be going back. We have already made plans to meet friends for dinner there.
What a shame about the old cedar tree out front which has to be taken down as it has lived out it's long life and has become a falling hazard.
Had a remarkably poor experience. The bacon arrived nearly raw. When I sent it back, they brought me the same bacon that had been dropped in the deep fryer and burnt. The third time I finally got properly cooked bacon. The eggs were also on the over easy side instead of over medium. I didn't bother sending them back. If I hadn't been with 2 other friends, I might have just left. When the bill came and I tried to pay for my portion, the waitress actually got mad that she had to split it out. Needless to say, I didn't leave a tip. This used to be a favorite brunch spot, but not sure I'll be back after today's experience.
Fin's Bistro is our favorite local restaurant. It is both casual and white tablecloth. It is not a chain and does not have a theme. It is simply a great small restaurant that one can go to time and time again for a great meal.
The servers are all knowledgeable and gracious. The menu interesting and varied. The wine list is very good. The food preparation and presentation excellent. The owners treat everyone as a guest in their home.
During the summer we love to sit outside and have some sort of fish dish. In the winter I love the lamb shank with a great red wine.
The restaurant is in the same building at the Village Theater, so on theater nights it will be completely full of theater goers until 8PM. Go other nights or after 8PM and you will have a very enjoyable meal.
Fins has been our favorite restaurant in Issaquah for many years. The menu is varied enough to take care of most food preferences, with specials available when we want to try something new. Fins is intimate for date nights, but we've been comfortable there with small and larger groups, too. Of course, it's also a wonderful choice if you're going next door for a show. The owners are very personable, greeting diners when they arrive and visiting the table to be sure everything goes well during the meal. Though Front Street traffic can be a bit loud when busy, it's a treat to be able to eat outside in the summer and see the hills and people paragliding off in the distance.
Had the cod gremolata. The cod was well prepared but the rice and the steamed vegetables were very plain. The waitress stated that the sides were the same for all fish dishes. Too bad, as they really drag down the seafood.
I'm the service side, bread was not refilled and waitress seemed unfamiliar with the preparations.
I've been here a couple times and each time was dramatically different. I had positive experiences at the beginning but my last visit left me unwilling to return. I had a reservation so my guest & I were seated promptly. Unfortunately after getting our drink orders in, we were left alone for 25 minutes!!!!! If we hadn't already ordered drinks, we would of walked out. When we finally got attention from another server, our server that was ignoring us rudely came over & brushed her out of the way. We had already completely ordered with the first server & the second server made us reorder!?!! The food was delicious as normal, but then it took us another 20 minutes to get the check when we were finished.
I know I appear much younger than I am, but I am a frequent diner whose money is just as good as anyone else's! 2 hours & $88 dollars later we were finally able to leave with a sour taste in our mouth. For that price tag I expect exceptional service. I was treating my friend who was in town & it went awfully.
I dine at Fins often and have become accustomed to their excellent service. I normally order the same thing for dinner (Halibut Cheeks are fantastic). This time I tried the Northwest Trio (crab cake, salmon, halibut cheek) and it was great. The beet/goat cheese salad is wonderful. Nice selection of wines by the glass.
