Service sucks so bad but it's kinda understandable that it's a hotel restaurant not in the city. First, we were not greeted nor seated right away. Waiter asked do you have a reservation for TODAY - i was like NO it's for tomorrow that's why we're here - duh! also, it was NOT busy at all in the restaurant. it was dead so how can you possibly miss us standing by the host stand.
I was with three of my friends. My other friend ordered steak -medium rare but fave her well done. Took forever for waiter to give your checks too. The busgirl sucks too. oh well.
Food was not amazing. Parking is outrageous (14 $ for two hours, and that is with validation)
Not enthused about this restaurant. “Police Week” (a huge conference) was beginning at the hotel (where the restaurant is located) & both the hotel lobby and the restaurant we’re packed with police & their families and kids. Extremely loud environment. The selections at the buffet were minimal and the what I had at the buffet was bland. I’d say it was fair at best. My daughter had the Baked Mac & Cheese appetizer, which was huge and well cooked, but it wasn’t actually baked, so it wasn’t crispy on top. My mother’s fish & chips looked good, and she liked it, but she and I don’t tend to agree on the foods we like. My husband’s pasta was pretty good - to him. I didn’t taste it. The wait staff was polite and enthusiastic - actually a little more enthusiastic than I like. I was there to celebrate Mother’s Day with my family, not engage with the staff. My husband dropped the family off at the entrance and embarked on a confusing adventure to find a parking spot. It took him almost 15 min and he had to pay $15. The restaurant did validate his ticket, but the process was not simple or customer-friendly. Will not return in the future.
Mother’s Day was a bust going here. Sadly the food was subpar and we waited more than 20 minutes to put in our order. Being a holiday as well as a National Cop Week convention at the hotel, you would think they would have staffed the restaurant better. Highly disappointed. At least the company I was in was excellent!
It was great food but the waiter didn’t bring us our pancakes. Quick easy breakfast with a nice outside view. Very hospitable team
Hope the can hire more help because we had some long gaps where we had to wait for our main course and also desert and coffee. The people were nice and friendly and the food was very delicious.
Buffet had a good selection, ask for Yao to be your server, kept glasses full

I made reservations on OpenTable for Christmas Dinner this evening. The OpenTable app allowed me to make reservations for an 8pm dinner at Finn & Porter. However, when we got there, we were told that the restaurant closed at 7PM 😳 But the OpenTable app said nothing about an early closing 😡🤬
Please ensure you’re accurate with availability, especially on holidays like Christmas 🎄. If you aren’t going to be open after a certain hour, please make that known for that particular restaurant in the app, and then don’t allow confirmed reservations after closing time.
Good food... good service... good time... like that you can order from both regular and sushi menu... but, what sushi place doesn’t have miso or saki?
This place was a disappointment. We looked for restaurants in the area on opentable and Finn And Porter came up. My friend said she liked the location in DC. It’s in a hotel first of all, and they validate parking which is nice but the hotel was really busy with conferences and events. The restaurant however was very slow, not many people dining. Despite this, the service was SO slow. 20 minutes for our cocktails which we saw sitting on the end of the bar, ready for our waitress to pick up nearly the whole time. Meals took a long time too- I noticed our sushi orders waiting to be picked up from the sushi chef’s counter, on my way to the bathroom, and 20 minutes later those items were finally delivered to us. Only a few visits from the waitress to check in. The lady always checking on our water was great. We didn’t take our receipts from the table, but had a bag with our leftovers to take home, and the validation guy didn’t want to validate our parking without the receipt even though we showed him our leftovers. So we went back to get the receipts.
My view out the window was of fake grass wall coverings on the patio, falling off the wall. outdoor area run down and falling apart. I do not recommend going here unless you’re staying at the hotel and need to.
Good breakfast selection
Service was terrible. Table was too small for our food when it finally came. Cheese plate had inedible cheese and meat. Prices very high. Parking was difficult and mislabeled. Seriously, it was a huge disappointment and we spent far too much money. It was awful.
Larger portions would be great. The food was good, with no drinks our bill was 30 per person for lunch, a bit too expensive.
The restaurant had no record of the reservation and didn't try to look it up. It was terribly noisy, the service was slow and the menu was not the same as what was displayed at Open Table

Went to the hotel restaurant for a post-birthday part dinner with my family. While the staff were very friendly, their follow up was terrible. My entire family received their meals, and they somehow forgot my dinner of surf and turf. My dinner didn't come until everyone else was done eating and that was terrible. The staff acknowledged their mistake, and gave us desserts and my meal for free. I did appreciate it, and tip the staff at 20% even tho there server wasn't good.

Service and food were outstanding! My wife and I enjoyed the total experience! Our server Giao, made sure we didn't want for anything; drinks and bread were always filled, and our meal was delicious! We will have to go back soon!
The meals were well prepared. The seasonal specials were great. Everything was presented with care. Very attentive staff. It was on Wednesday, so dining crowd was small. The appetizer was a fusion of Asian and Cajun, and it bended well. Very satisfied with the meal.

Great service and very good food for a group reunion- we totally enjoyed - good menu selection - including sushi ! ( didn't try) Nice ambience too. Definitely recommend.
It was ok. The place was pretty empty, however it took a long time to get our food and it was cold by the time we got it. Normally I would have said something, but we needed to eat and head somewhere else for another engagement. I doubt I will ever go back. The steak was tasty but the bearnaise sauce was more of a solid spread vs. a sauce. The lobster tail was bland and chewy. For the price, I should have went somewhere better.

The sushi is incredible. So fresh! And the rice to seafood portion of each roll is perfect.
2 hr wait for entrée. Manager unresponsive and ineffective. There were several other parties expressing dissatisfied. Also provided a review on Yelp.

I have dined here numerous time, primarily for lunch. My most recent visit was Christmas Eve dinner with the family. The food is always good and I have always experienced exceptional service. Good sushi (check availability on holidays). Make sure to get your parking stub validated before you leave the restaurant.
This review will be incomplete because I was actually unable to partake in the food offered by Finn &Porter. I chose this restaurant because they offered oysters and sushi but to my dismay restaurants of this accord do not offer these options during the Thanksgiving weekend. This review is for the amazing server we had for all of ten minutes. She was very understanding and even recommended another restaurant for sushi that turned out to be very good. I will definitely go back for steak and oysters on a later date.
Server Lula was great! The food was great too. It was very slow that night and the noise level was 0.
My wife had Sea Bass that was truly delicious. I had a ribeye that was one of the better steaks I've eaten. The bread is great. The service was very nice.
My wife had a crab cake Benedict that she felt was great. I had scrambled eggs and excellent sausages. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. All in all a great breakfast. Highly recommend!

Finn & Porter's are charging their clients DC or Old Town ALEXANDRIA prices, for plates that shouldn't cost no more then $18.00 - $20.00.
Restaurant is not geared for large crowds. If there is a conference at the hotel, the restaurant may change to buffet-only for certain meals. Being forced to use the breakfast buffet, we experienced 20-minute and 25-minute waits to refresh empty fruit trays and get omelettes, respectively.
Very pleasant neighborhood place.
Our waiter was great! Funny and very knowledgeable of various cultural foods. He was extremely sensitive to our dietary needs. Every detail was to a T. Thank you for the experience.
