Great wine great food. Great service. Needs a better tequila selection. But that’s just my choice. Will be back for the ribeye
they wanted to bring our appetizer after our entree.
the gnocci tasted like it came from and can and was way too salty
didn't bring a plate for the oyster shells
didn't bring butter or olive oilfor the bread the pathetic bread
who wants to watch The Bad Seed in a restaurant???????
Excellent, intimate experience. Great bartending and service. If you leave without trying the dumplings drizzled in Sichuan chili oil, you are doing yourself a great disservice. The mixed grill is terrific. The burrata, made in house, is wonderful. We will return!
There are interesting selections at this restaurant such as sautéed pea leaves. Vegetarians can get a meal here and there are small plates, appetizers and regular sized entrees that provide a broad selection of the amount of food you want to eat. My wife had the kabouci squash soup and artichoke fritters. I had sautéed shrimps with the sautéed pea leaves. Another person has roasted cauliflower and the soup, but the cauliflower was not the traditional cauliflower but small florets with stems. The last person had linguini with clams. All very beautifully prepared.
Found this place before going to the orchestra. Every dish was amazing. The squash soup was so delicious despite what I thought it would be. Waitress was on point with her suggestions
Food was cold and not so good. Service was slow as just one server.
Hostess/waitress is amazing. Always great food and pleasant ambiance. I would just change the video on the giant projector to something more fitting.
Went for Chinese New Year happy hour which was great then came back for the chefs “coursing” that was even better. $10 per course on a Wednesday. Just great one after another we walked away on a week day with a great meal for 2 for $60 bucks. A definite to try.
Their vegan and veg dishes are off the hook. Snow pea leaves are a must. Best greens I ever ate. The spaghetti squash was amazing. I hate gluten free pasta but their gluten free vegan gnocchi was to die for.
Don’t miss it not many real food vegan restaurants.
Was cold as F out. Place was empty like most restaurants in the cold, but they had such great food. Their pasta just hit the spot. The sauce was flavorful and pasta perfectly cooked. They made a soup never had before but it was great. My SO had a pork chop that was so juicy it did t seem like Pork.
Overall great food. Def a cute place
This was our first visit to Fine Palate. It was a very mixed bag. The location was great - close to theaters. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the actual service and food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the dumplings, the salmon, and the mixed grill. The dumpling were just plain weird. They had a very viscous constancy which was unpleasant for me, although my husband thought they were fine. The salmon was perfectly cooked and very tasty. We were told that the mixed grill consisted of flank steak, buffalo, and a pork chop for $40. We got a very delicious pork chop, two thin, overcooked slices of short rib, and a wine marinated piece of chicken that was rather dry and not very tasty. There was also an issue with the check, which had to be presented three times before it was correct. With so many dining choices in Philly it is hard to recommend this place, but the few flashes of brilliance are enough for me to say that I would give it another try!
Very small portions and pricey. Messed up order so our friend dined well after we were finished. Food was very good but again not enough.
Overcharged us on bottle of wine but quickly adjusted bill with apology.
Waitress very pleasant but disappeared for stretches of time. No bread served until after dinner.
The food was horrible. I would not recommend it to anyone. Will not be back.
Saw this restaurant on Eaters best gluten-free restaurants. Had to try it. Gf Pasta was amazing the the veg and vegan menu is great. Def not a place to pass up.
Great for brunch, especially if you like to share lots of different smaller entrees. $5 mimosas on Sundays..
We went post-theater during Restaurant Week for the $35 special. We arrived at about 5:45pm (party of 8). We were seated promptly. From a service standpoint, things went downhill from there. Our drink order was taken but it took quite awhile for them to be delivered. The Corona was warm. It was replaced but the second bottle was not much colder. We asked a couple of questions about items on the menu and were given several incorrect answers. The soup offering was changed twice. Nevertheless, we ordered our three courses. The salads were quite good and the potato soup was tasty. There was no bread offered. The pasta course was homemade gnocchi in a tomato sauce and it was exquisite. Still no bread. I asked for a glass of wine to be delivered when the entree came. Everyone in our party ordered short ribs bourguignon. It was a nice portion served over wide noodles. However, if red wine ever touched the short ribs, I'd be shocked. There was no sauce. Nevertheless, the short ribs were extremely tender and had good flavor. My glass of red wine, even after asking four times, didn't show up until I was nearly done with my entree. When the entrees got served, three slim pieces of toasted bread were delivered - not quite enough for 8 people. While the staff was very nice, the service delivery left quite a bit to be desired. Dessert was a nice slice of cheesecake that all enjoyed. Overall, go for the food, which was excellent, but be prepared for spotty service.
Had restaurant week here and it was great. Game Hen pot pie had truffles in it. Was a big shock. Great food great cocktails was more than worth it.
The wait staff was very inattentive. They forgot to put in our orders for drinks multiple times. We had to wait 30 minutes for our starters which were soup and food. The food is so good, it’s a shame dining experience wasn’t up to par
Great spot for pre theater. Food was tasty. The restaurant is cool. The service was friendly
Very nice ambiance, good service. Pricey but the food was gourmet however the soup came out a little cold. Smaller servings.
My moms had her anniversary dinner her, she had been talking about this place for months and we finally had a reason to come.
Food was eclectic and flavorful. Our server was very pleasant and personable. Love the high ceilings and city vibe. Will def return.
Great restaurant week menu great service and a fun time all around.
Came here for restaurant week and had a great time! Food was delicious and our waitress was very nice and personable. The restaurant was very clean and had a great atmosphere.
Have been here several times and it just keeps getting better. A fun crowd at the bar. A great menu that spans the world.
This place is right out of LA style menu and NyC atmosphere.
Service is a little slow, due to the food being cooked fresh. The 2 owners drive this little place with live and passion. It’s def not the grand machine restaurants pumping out frozen Food, and staffed to the gills. It’s a little mom and pop restaurant with lots love.
Great happy hour. $1 oysters and $1clams $4 hand mad dumplings and $5 martinis. A def perfect find for happy hour.
The Ribeye was the best we had. Great spot
Great spot, especially pre and post theater. Eclectic and delicious menu and very friendly staff. Unique and cozy seating.
Had a great meal. Came in for the ribeye. Shared it with my bf and it was amazing. This is a must have.
My wife and I came to try the new “coursing” menu on Wednesday. What a treat! You can pick exactly how many courses you want and the chef decides what dishes you receive. It’s a pretty cool surprise that you don’t know what you’re getting. I can’t wait to come back for this next Wednesday!
Had a birthday diner and was surprised by the hospitality the people here showed us.
Chef did a fantastic 5course tasting for us with wine pair. The server was bubbly and friendly made us feel very special.
Food was good service was good and a fun atmosphere. Can’t beat $1 oyster and clams. A definite winner
Had a date here and the server inadvertently over heard.
She made us feel so comfortable and at ease that the date became best dining experience. The owner came over with shots and made us laugh and enjoy our selves.
The food was great as well. Had some small plates, the buffalo tartar which we were a little apprehensive to order was spectacular. The agnolotti was mind blowing, Burrata was wildly unexpected. We had A bottle of wine and hung out with the bartender and owner.
This is def a great place to enjoy for a date or just hang out, because there was 7 or so regulars all having a great time together. Reminded us of the tv show Cheers ...
New Year’s Eve dinner was spectacular. A great way to end the year. The offered a tasting menu for $99 everything from caviar to white and black truffles to wild boar.
Risotto was to die for, the palate teaser was just amazing caviar on a fluffy bed of cauliflower purée and Bellini.
The oyster and Uni was a treat for the palate.
My gf had live king crab and I have wild boar. The crab was truly the best shellfish dish we every had. Slow poached in a butter bath, and served simply.
The wild boar was the best pork ever tasted. Aged for 2 weeks, tender and great flavor.
This chef is very talented. Great for holidays. Can’t wait to try it during any old week day.
Walk by this restaurant every day for work stopped in because of $1 oysters and clams, came back for diner another day and wished I found this place sooner. Read and article from foobooz and this restaurants everything they talked about Philly restaurants being. Food was great all around, service was friendly, the interior is cool. What a great find
Made reservations here because a friend of mine always talks about it. Calls it his living room.. The chef made us a twist on oysters rockafella, which was probably the best oyster we ever had. We had some small plates which to be honest could tell which one we like the most. Then the ribeye came out. OMFG it’s huge and it’s amazing. Best steak we had in philly. This became our new go to.
I brought a new client here for dinner. We sat upstairs at a quiet table and had such a blast. We ordered a bottle of wine to start. The Japanese pizza was so delicious, verrry different but so delicious. The live scallops were off the charts, I never had scallops made that way. They were huge and still attached to the shell insuring freshness. I can’t wait to bring my wife here
Went for a business dinner. Had a great paella had a great Burrata. Food was flavor full and creative. This is the restaurant PHILLY should be following. Chef follows what he wants with no set in stone “concept” just the hospitality for what restaurants should be. Great wine list as well
Service was bit slow but over all a great little place. Nice vibe, interesting menu, and fun staff.
Eat at the bar had, mix board of meats which was great price and great food. Pasta was fantastic.
Came here for the much anticipated 40 ounce bone in dry aged ribeye after hearing about it from some friends. It did not disappoint!!!!! Served on a large wooden cutting block with creamy mashed potatoes. We had a side of mushrooms and snow pea leaves that were to die for. The service was so on point. Priscilla was the sweetest thing. I can’t wait to bring some friend back in!
Great holiday atmosphere. Had venison rib chops. Tender and flavorful. Loved the white truffle agnolotti.
We also have a very tasty pork chop from Canada skin on and crackling. Really enjoyed this restaurant. Staff is friendly informative and welcoming.
My wife and I reserved a table here, mostly because of the 1000 pt offering and its close location to the Merriam Theatre. I will definitely return here, regardless of the point offerings. The food was wonderfully prepared, with a touch of class in its presentation. We started with fresh made burrata cheese and tomatoes - simply prepared and delicious. Then I had an imported Japanese pork chop that was incredible. And My wife enjoyed a chicken Parmesan with homemade pasta. The mix of food styles is interesting, but the taste of each was on the mark. We will surely be back!
